"Black Friday starts on Wednesday" - Does that mean normal business hours on Wednesday and will be at all these sale prices?
-
To mark the location where you will be shopping on Black Friday: Open the map Zoom in on the area where you will be shopping. Try to see the actual part of your city/town, not just the city Click on the "upside-down rain drop" in the upper left area of the map, your cursor will turn into a cross hatch. Click on the location where you will be shopping to place the mark. A dialog box will appear to enter information. On the line that says "Point ##" enter your GottaDeal screen name. You can enter additional details in the box below the name. Click "Save" in the dialog box.

I've heard that we'll know for sure next Monday. Hopefully it leaks before then.
-
In my experience, people start showing up ~30 minutes before and tend to wait in their cars as long as possible until the first person lines up and then everyone floods out of their cars.
-
Keep in mind that once more and more sales happen (and giving away GC w/ purchase), more and more people will be doing what you are and getting them from Target with RedCard. Eventually their stock will diminish and when that great deal comes along, you may have to be the first 20 in line.... That's probably a pretty good deal, but hard to predict anything will be a whole lot better until some of those ads leak. Good luck!

I feel like Michael's even more so than others, though.

I think the increasing problem in the past few years has been that it's a whole new crowd of shoppers out; people that say "there's no way I'm getting up at 3am to stand in line until the store opens at 4:00" can now say: "go out at 4:00pm and be out of there by 7:00pm? Sign me up!!!". You don't have to be a die hard BF shopper anymore, but just willing to miss family time on Thanksgiving... And they don't realize that you may need to show up early to get what you want, but instead just show up...well, because they aren't sleeping.
-
I feel like that's pretty standard fair for Michaels. I wonder if they use 80% of the ad from the previous year, and just move things around a bit. Nonetheless, still some good things to buy if you're in the market for them.

Has anyone noticed additional deals being added throughout the day? Usually (non-BF time) by morning, the full list of Lightning Deals is up for the day, I can scroll through them and decide what times I want to wait for. BF time, they will have some "doorbusters" that they don't put as publicly visible until maybe 30-60 minutes before the sale starts. I'm curious if anyone has noticed we're in BF times yet where I have to keep coming back and refreshing my lightning deals every hour and only looking 1-2 hours in the future to find potential new ones.
-
And from what I understand, now stationchief's charts will allow you to look at previous year's info, as well.
-
Yeah, maybe I wasn't entirely specific. Of course, having a helping hand is beneficial. However, if you are both separately shopping for BF, but just happen to go together, it's likely not going to work because you will inevitably slow each other down at some point and potentially miss out on some of the deals.

Went and bought a Sunday paper and no Toy Catalog in there.

Alone and if you happen to meet up in one of the stores, you can stand in line together. And then meet up again when you're done for the after party

4 pages of women's boots? It felt like deja vu evey time I turned the page. Pressing on, now... B1G2 Free on men's Khaki pants. That's the best deal so far!! lol. And B1G2 on the men's dress shirts, too.
-
Right now, I'm pretty much on hold... Once the ads come out and I see that something won't be on sale (or I know what the price will be), then I can decide whether I want to get it now (being a similar price).
-
1. This is probably year number 10 or 11, but had gone with my mother casually before that. 2. I plan to spend about the same, but that all changes depending on the ads and what we and up needing. 3. Of course! I can't get nearly everything without shopping online. 4. I'll go by myself, and then probably take the kids with me after 8am on Friday. 5. I think I would like to see experiments of: Limited number of people in the store at once, no carts allowed, and a time limit (all during the first 2 hours of opening). When I get to a store, I am usually getting 1-5 items and have to weave through people with carts and that are just wandering trying to decide if they want to get yellow scissors or green scissors on a regular ol' shopping trip.
-
They are going to need to put some incentive to go back at 5am. With these, you're pretty much committed to be shopping all Thursday night AND Friday morning. ....and then go home to watch the kids by yourself because DW has to work on Friday. Lol
-
I swung by today. Took a sweep of the store and found nothing. Asked the service desk and they looked at me like I have 2 heads.... Finally got someone say their ads for next week will come in tonight or tomorrow.

"Come back in November" http://www.amazon.com/Black-Friday/b/ref=sv_gb_0?ie=UTF8&node=384082011 Nothing of substance. I'm sure it'll start off as just massive amount of lightning deals (not that unlike what they do every other day) for the first few weeks.
-
As a manager, I'd probably be afraid they would start ripping through my face should I attempt to stop them... I'm not sure they could pay me enough to step in and try to break that up! Walmart is one of the very few stores that is actually OPEN before the sale starts. The rest of the retailers have lines waiting outside the door and 5 minutes after go-time, there's still line outside the door and dozens of people have already checked out of that store, whereas WM already has EVERYONE inside the store and trying to push carts through the maze of aisles and checkout lines. Sorry; just noticed what thread we're in and this is getting quite a bit off topic
-
In WM's defense, I also think they have the worst crowds. Then, they are designed to get groups of people in and out through multiple doors, and they have the most "stuff" scattered all over that it's nearly impossible to control things.
-
Yeah, this is just a real teaser. We don't need a press release out that says "We're going to have a Black Friday ad. Come back in 3 weeks."
