I have always had good luck with Bestbuy.com for my Black Friday electronic deals. I have ordered from them for years and have never had an order cancelled. I know this has been a problem for some, though. If you dont feel comfortable ordering from them, keep a eye on Amazon. They may just match that price on gold box or lighting deal the week of Black Friday.

There is a 16gb on bestbuy.com showing regular $199.99. It is not available for shipment, so I'm wondering if that is the one that will be on sale for $99.99.

It is awesome getting to shop early. I hope this year the site is ready for the traffic. It is so annoying how it always crashes as soon as the sale goes live. So much better than waiting up in the middle of the night, though.

Nope. Black Friday is ruined for me, because of these new times. It use to be a special girls day for myself, Mom, and my aunts. The deals were great, but that wasn't what it was ALL about for us. It was our tradition for 24 years. I miss heading out at 2am, standing in line with my cappuccino and their coffee, finalizing our attack plan, then going for breakfast after we landed our haul. I will buy what we need online with Amazon, and Bestbuy (like last year), and possibly we will head to Walmart, or our local mall when we are ready to go out.

You will need the new portal. The swap force figures have magnets in them allowing you to interchange your characters and the original portals are not configured to read the new design.

Bestbuy prices usually start to drop around 2:30- 3:00 am. Ive never bought much from Walmart online, because of the horror stories ive heard about their online sales. Last year I did buy my nephew a bike, and picked it up in our local store without any problems. Im pretty sure i was able to order the bike around 3:00 am.

Another thing to remember is when you are shopping the lighting deals you have to be pretty quick on checkout. I missed out on deals 2 years ago because i didnt want to fork over shipping cost and didnt have time to find more items that i actually wanted to equal the 25.00 minimum for free shipping. It was much easier last year with Prime. I'm sure I saved that $79.00 back and then some during that time, not even considering all the orders I have placed throughout the year.

Skylanders Swap Force is in the Gamestop ad for $49.99.

If your child hasn't just specifically ask for the game Disney Infinity, I would suggest checking the reviews before spending much money on it. I bought it for Ds on launch day thinking it would be like Skylanders, and he played it all of 5 minutes. He says it is not like Skylanders. You get a couple minutes mini game for each character, but there is no actual storyline to it like Skylanders. If you play it on 2 player it splits your screen and that really annoyed him, too.

I was wondering the same, but seriously doubt we will get that lucky. I need games for both new systems. Last year there were excellent discounts on skylanders giants, and wonder if we will see that this year on swap force. Unfortunately, i doubt the xbox one version being on sale, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Guess i'm an odd duck. I always have my shopping finished by Black Friday thanks to Amazon lightning deals, bestbuy.com, and of course Gottadeal website. There are really excellent deals posted all year long. I go out for my cousin who is divorced with 4 kids. He doesnt have anyone to help him, so I tend to take it on if he needs something from a b&m store that i wasnt able to order for him. I guess I just love the excitement of the hunt......

GameStop rep told me it is because the figures have different electronics in them, so they would not work with the old portals. It is annoying. Maybe the starter sets will be on sale on Black Friday like last year.

Definitely the Xbox one and ps4. A word of warning on Disney infinity. I bought this for Ds and he played it all of 5 minutes before he declared that it was not like Skylanders. It only offers small storylines for each character. On 2 player mode it splits your screen which is also very annoying.
