  1. My story is similar to misstakens. My DS 10 and DD 7 are both being treated for this wonderful sickness. My son has been labeled the carrier and wears a mask (Dr.'s orders). Both children are on Tamiflu, Robitussin, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen. My husband and I were prescribed Tamiflu as a preventative. Tamiflu is expensive even with good insurance (which we have through my husbands union). I spent $135 yesterday on Prescription and OTC meds for us. This flu is scary and hits the pocketbook. I say if the risk in your area is high (I personally know of 7 and have heard of others in our town of only 3000) the money you spend fighting this flu will be more than what you save of BF. That $135 only covers the meds and not the 3 doctor visits! I have already missed 4 days of work caring for my kids and I am sure there will be more. Seeing as we get 3 sick days a year, I'm losing more money there. Its just not worth it! Something to keep in mind!!
  2. Was just pointing out that the contest was looking for desserts. Didn't want someone to not get an entry cause they posted a main dish. Post all the recipes you please. I just might use them. So sorry to have upset you so much.
  3. I'm in the south burbs of Chicago and ran to our local store immediately after seeing this post. They still had the Tv's marked at $499.99. I asked the clerk (who was very friendly) if he knew anything of the clearance. He hadn't heard of it and even went as far as to scan it to see if maybe it was in the system. DS and DD are both getting one of these for Christmas and I hope that I don't have to wait in those horrible black friday lines to get a steal. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!
  4. This recipe tastes very similar to the girl scout peanut butter pattie cookies. They are OH SO GOOD. I have made this, only I use the sodium free ritz crackers. Its how I was taught, but either way works!! :holiday07 I can't wait for the holidays :holiday10
  5. I have already started my notepad list of recipes from here. There are some delicious sounding desserts. Here is another classic, but for some reason they taste twice as good with confectioners sugar instead of white sugar. Yummy! Jelly Thumbprints 3/4 c.butter (no substitutes), softened 3/4 c.confectioners' sugar 1 egg yolk 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. raspberry or apricot preserves DIRECTIONS In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolk and almond extract. Slowly add flour. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll into 3/4 in. balls. Place 1 in. apart on greased baking sheet. Using the end of a wooden spoon handle or your thumb, make an indentation in the center of each ball. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Fill with preserves.
  6. This is my absolute favorite holiday cookie. I usually divide the dough and tint half green and half red with food coloring. The recipe calls for green, but I like to add the festive coloring. These don't last long on my counter, ENJOY! Mint Kiss Spritz 2/3 c. sugar 1 c. butter (softened) 1 egg 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. mint extract 2 1/4 c. all purpose flour green food coloring 60 Hershey's Kisses Heat oven to 400F. In large mixing bowl combine sugar, butter, egg, salt, vanilla, and mint extract. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add flour. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in food coloring, adding enough to achieve the desired color. If dough is too soft, cover and refrigerate until firm enough to form cookies. Form balls and place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. Use your thumb or the tip of a spoon to lighty press down in center of ball to make an indent. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Immediately after removing cookies from oven place one Hershey's kiss on each cookie.
  7. Hubby and I went two years ago at around 7p.m. Thanksgiving evening. We were number 41 in line. We asked when we got there what the up front campers were there for. All but 3 wanted the TV's. Jackpot..... cause we were there for the laptops. Ten hours later we discovered that the entire first half of the line had in fact snatched up all of the laptop coupons for purchase and were selling them for $50 bucks a pop. You wanna see a pissed off chic, you would loved the scene there! I stopped a manager walking in line and pointed out a guy who had offered to sell me his Certificate and he said there was nothing he could do! I waited all that time and the temp was a whopping 17 degrees. What a waste.
  8. I have to say I couldn't disagree with you more. This is my absolute favorite scent and its burning in my home right now. My Best Friend also loves this scent and got me hooked on it. I get compliments every time someone enters my home about the welcoming aroma. Its perfect for fall. I love, love, love it! Its funny how so many people differ in taste. I can't imagine how 90% of their fragrances sell, but for some reason they keep them around. Someones buyin em.
  9. As far as I know you do have to have a membership card. These coupons are issued to card holders. How do u justify getting a coupon if u dont have a membership? IMO
  10. I guess I should have specified I intend to use this on wood and tile floors. Thanks for the info, its helpful to hear from a real person vs. a botched review.
  11. I am in the market for a cordless sweeper. I have researched the shark stick vac and the Swivel Sweeper. Does anyone have any input on either of these or a suggestion for a different one. I don't expect vacuum quality, just something to do the in between deep cleans. Thanks for your help!!
  12. My local Target had most of their school supplies marked 30% to 50% when I went today. Also found Off and Cutter bug spray at 50 off.
  13. I was at ours on Sunday and they said that sale had ended.
  14. Went yesterday. I managed to befriend a worker who was in the process of marking down toys. I played dumb and asked whats with the big toy clearance?!? She said every year we mark stuff down, so we can make room for new Christmas toys. (DUH!) I asked her if there was gonna be more items clearanced. She said there was and told me that they were randomly marking things down, to which I replied "Wow, I should start my Christmas shopping". She said most people wait for the big deals like 50% or 75%. I asked well when does that happen. Her reply... "It just depends, some stuff now some stuff later, but seems like a lot of stuff is gettin snatched up early this year. I don't foresee there being much left at the big discounts."
  15. That is absolutely hilarious. I say ones loss is your gain. I've had my stash taken plenty of times. I give big thumbs up to those who find it. Shame on me for wanting it cheaper.. Good for you!
  16. Hope you were able to find a coupon to sweeten the deal. I went to the local Lane Bryant and used a $25 off $75 coupon. Total came to $54 and change.. Thats under $14 a bra. Can't beat that for the quality! Gonna buy 4 more before its over cause after that I have to wait til December... Ick..
  17. I agree with everyone here regarding the preshaped bras. I LOVE THEM. I was hesitant to try them but once I did I was hooked. Its the preshaping that gives you the firm support you need for a large chest. They give you great shape without bulking them up any more than they already are. They lift, support, and are VERY comfortable IMO...
  18. I find their bras very true to size. The quality alone in my opinion is well worth it. I used to buy bras at our local department stores and within weeks I'd get wires poking through. Like I said, I only buy the balconette style because I have nothing but great luck with them. I am a triple D cup and have found nothing that compares. Keep in mind that regardless of size, all purchases are returnable to your local store. If by some chance they don't work for you, at least you don't have to mail em back. As far as band size, they are snug at first. After a few wears you can feel them adjusting. Personally I'd prefer them tighter because as the band stretches (like every other bra) you can still wear it with the same support. On a final note their are TONS of coupon codes out there if you search, one I found is 025009538 for $25 off a $75 purchase.
  19. Starting online today at www.Lanebryant.com and starting in stores tomorrow all cacique Bras are buy 2 get 2 free, panties are 5/$25 and PJ's are on sale too. I have been waiting for this sale cause I LOVE their bras. I'm top heavy and these give great support. I prefer the balconette style.
