  1. Thank you! and OMG did you look at the picture of the model wearing the scarf? It is HUGE!
  2. If you are looking for a turtleneck sweater... I bought this sweater in brown a couple months ago and it is very nice; I get compliments every time I wear it. I am not a turtleneck person, but I can stand this one- it is not bothersome on my neck. It says a large is 12-14, but I wear a 10 (DD) and the Large is just right for me; form-fitting but not too tight on the chest. I wish it was in the 3/$30 deal, but even at $19 +/the 20% off it is a great deal. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=EG-247760&page=1&cgname=OSGIFTHTZZZ&rfnbr=6741
  3. Is it one free scarf per sweater, or one free scarf per sweater? IE 3 sweaters and 3 scarves or 3 sweaters, one scarf? It is only indicating one free scarf for me...wondering if I'm doing something wrong or just supposed to get one. Thanks!
  4. Are those the only titles you want? I know someone selling a couple used arcade games, but don't know what Titles. You'd have to pick them up in Michigan. I can find out more if you're interested.
  5. Thank you for the feedback. I will look for the walmart sale. I called the place we got the glasses; his frame is discontinued (of course, right?); can't find it online, they couldn't possibly give me a spare earpiece and screw to take to the camp (?) just said to bring them in and they'll sell me a different frame that will fit the lenses I bought one month ago. I say bring back the thick plastic frames of the 70s that I had to suffer with as a child! You really had to try to break those things.
  6. My son wrote home from camp that his glasses broke : ( Of COURSE I just paid $150 for new lenses a month ago...and paid a lot for his frame last year...I'm wondering how to save on new frames if they can't be fixed (had just decided that was an awful lot for lenses, would go somewhere else next time he needed something). He wrote that the side/ear piece fell off and he didn't notice it until later, so can't find the piece....?? not sure how you wouldn't notice that...but he IS 13...lol.
  7. We've been using Energizer 2500 rechargeables in ours. I can't tell you how many hours they last, but much longer than regular. It is worth the extra cost. You can charge the batteries in a wall charger. I just bought new ones for my camera and they are Duracell 2650- maybe newer/more power, I don't know.
  8. Kids Trellos clogs (like crocs I think) are $8.99 in some fun colors, up to size Kids 3.
  9. I second the true to size fit. Just use their Chart and measure yourself. I did and was surprised at what size it said (smaller than I would have chosen), but it fit just right (swimwear). I got a tankini and swim mini set last year.
  10. Mine doesn't seem to be doing anything but selling them : ) I got a cute email last week though, apparently the QP has some attitude, ha ha. "The QP is delicious and it knows it. If a QP wanted to woo you it wouldn't make you a mixed tape, it would just show up at your door and be all "I complete you".
  11. Are you referring to the bar soaps that go on sale for $1? They stopped carrying them last summer. In June, when they have their other "Big" sale they announced it and said "be sure to stock up". The saleswoman said they may still offer them online after that; I have not checked, so I don't know if they do or if they are on sale for $1. That was a nice deal, I always stocked up six months at a time. I'll have to find a new brand of soap soon : ) By the time I got to the sale last June, there wasn't much left, so I am almost out of their soap.
  12. I was at my Kroger today...xmas decorations only were 75% off; Candy only 25% off. They did not have a lot of stuff left though. They had some of the dinnerware left, but it was in a different area and not marked; I didn't want it bad enough to check; figured it was probably only 50%.
  13. I went yesterday, my store was so picked over. They had a few "sold out" signs around the store. They had probably a dozen robes, but they were only 50% off (of $49.50). I don't know anyone who needs one, but was looking for all these deals you guys posted. I didn't see lambie blankets last week or this, no lambs at all yesterday, only a few last week. Their gift sets were only 30% off, a lot of stuff wasn't on sale. The sale they had last week was better, but I didn't have time to get my stuff; I thought I was going back the next day. The Associates were very nice though; it's good for them they are selling out of product, I guess. I also went into Victoria Secret- what a madhouse! Their Associates were all very positive too. They had six registers open and a line 3 deep at each. I guess it was just ME who was sick, tired and grumpy (but not to them!).
  14. Yay! I got RB2 for Wii at Gamestop yesterday...after being told that it didn't come out till March...don't know what those Target boys were thinking- both were in their 20s- must have known there were only 2 in the back and they wanted them, ha ha. I thought it was a longshot, but stopped anyway...they had a stack of accessories, RB for other platforms and GH bundles...she had to go in back for the Wii version but I was happy. In and out in probably ten minutes- which was cool because it was Packed in there. I hope the family is surprised and happy Christmas morning! Just Tonight DH was all proud of himself, said "What if I could get RockBand for $100?" I said "well....I'd say No biggie, it's on sale for $89 and RB2 is coming out bigger and better soon." He made a big pouty face and I haven't heard from him since...
  15. For those looking for a digital camera under $100 this is a good one IMO: With a 2G memory card it shipped (free, UPS) for $93.87. It's a Canon Powershot A470 for $89.88. Here's the review: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=16338 Here's the Deal: http://www.jr.com/canon/pe/CAN_A470GRAY/ It is available in gray, blue, and orange; red was out of stock (just a slice of color, not the entire camera). I got a 2G memory card for $3.99 too. It can run on 2 AA batteries in a pinch, but I recommend rechargeables. I did a lot of research and I like the Canon's features and internals. I bought one for myself 2yrs ago (A630- most unique feature is the swivel screen which everyone loves) and one for my mom last year- A560 (smaller size, less batteries). This year my son gets one : ) I was going to order the Nikon Coolpix elsewhere, but it now has a message that it won't be shipped in time for Christmas (this is also a pretty good camera, not quite as good as a Canon, but all I could find at the time under $100). I hope this helps someone. UPDATE: It came in two days via regular shipping. This is a nice sized camera- I can't wait to give it to my son! I just checked, it is still on sale, only blue and gray available, and today it has free shipping. I bet if you ordered it today or Saturday you would get it by Christmas (check their website or customer service tho-I'm just saying mine shipped quickly from NY to MI).
  16. What?! I just asked yesterday (at Target) and was told by two people that the new release date was March! OK Now I need to be calling Gamestop tomorrow..... Thanks for posting!
  17. I think I am seeing that Rock Band 2 for Wii doesn't release until Dec 22?? Is that correct? Is anyone doing preorders? I've just started my search. Just realized today that would be a good gift for the family...(mostly the impossible to buy for Husband). And that the list price is $189.99.? Will update if/when I find out more. Amazon has a 'be notified by email when it's available' link. I saw free shipping at one point, but not now ? maybe it was something else. The product weighs 20 lbs. later: OK so all I've found out is that no one is for sure when it will be available. You can probably get just the game RB2 for $50 in time for xmas and it will work with the RB1 equipment; and any USB microphone will work. For the Special Edition/bundle...it may or may not be available until after xmas. I am reading that the RB2 equipment is a little sturdier, nicer and the drums/cymbals are wireless (weren't they before?). For $80 more, it would probably be worth getting the newer version w/better instruments. I may have to wait until DH January birthday for this...or do a combo of xmas/bday...he is probably getting tired of that excuse (I did it last year too, lol).
  18. I'm in Michigan; our store went 40-70% off yesterday. She said they hear from the liquidation company in the morning when additional markdown changes are made. The store I was in was very large and it seemed they had a lot of stuff left for men, and teen girls. They had a lot of baby/toddler summer tops/tanks- $2.48.
  19. Thank you! I'm glad I passed these up Sunday when they were $20. My 9 yo DS said if the gingerbread men came in his size, he'd wear them, haha. I think the snowmen will last the season longer though.
  20. Thanks for all your thoughts. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought she was being a party-pooper. I haven't decided what to do, but I'm sure I'll be nice and just give her $10 and wish her the best. She is so not worth me wasting my time over the issue anymore. We'll see what happens the day of the party as a few others asked for gift cards too. I haven't heard anyone else say anything beyond "yeah gift cards are boring". I see Target has some giftcards that come with a little game or some sort of 'toy'. Maybe I could do that. It just hit me the wrong way the way she was so snotty about only wanting the money. Here are my other mean thoughts in case you're the type that likes that Buy a $10 gift card then use it to buy something and put them in a bag together. When she goes to the store to use her $10 card, she'll discover it has less than $10 on it... Buy an ugly shirt but pretend I really like it (she had said she'd buy herself a shirt w/the giftcard). You know, if she had asked for a shirt, I would have knocked myself out to find something she'd like; but she said shirt like "garbage". $10 worth of toilet paper. At least it would be a big package I could wrap, it's something everybody uses and I'd LOVE to see her return it. Plus it would give her a story for the rest of her life "yeah well one time I got toilet paper for christmas". Oh come on, I"d buy the good stuff : ) Someone suggested giftcard to local sextoy shop : ) Many voted for bag of chapstick. Some suggested the ones shaped like a penis. But I'm a nice person and I don't want to be petty. OK I do, but I don't want them to think I am, ha ha. That is just such a theme at this place. I try to let it roll and figure a year from now, what will it matter.
  21. Do you do this? How do you feel about it? Do you like drawing names or playing Secret Santa? I am somewhere in the middle. It is not the highlight of the season for me like some people I know, nor do I loathe it like others I know. We drew names at work. Everyone was given card to write three items they'd like in the $10range and then you pick one thing from the card you draw. We drew last week so we could shop on BF; those who've been there longer said it's a fun thing every year. We were discussing what to write (I was only temping last year and didn't get in on it). The people who've been there a few years said 'fun socks' 'hand lotion' 'candles', things like that. Sometimes they go out and try to find the corniest gift, something funny. One girl said she wrote chapstick and Target giftcard, 'cause you know, if someone's gonna spend $10 I'll take a gift card and I can buy something for myself" but she said it kind of rude, like "I don't want some crap that you guys would pick". So of course, I drew Her card. I was REALLY tempted to wrap a ten dollar bill around a chapstick and throw it at her with a sarcastic wish for the holidays. But I decided maybe that was overreacting a bit....ha ha. So, what do you think? Is it rude to ask for a gift card in a gift exchange? I was thinking it was going to be fun to get someone a little gift; but maybe that is because I don't have many people to buy for and I enjoy finding and wrapping little things for people. If we are all going to just exchange ten dollars, what is the point? In general I don't have a big problem with gift cards; though I appreciate a "Thank you, here's what I Bought" afterward. And I know, a gift is a gift, supposed to have no strings attached, but that's not how I was raised. I was raised you better send a thank you or you may never be gifted again and I gotta say, it has taken me many years to realize that my husband's family believes saying 'thanks' when you open a gift is all that is necessary.
  22. Do Heely's run Big, Small, or True to size? They have been banned everywhere, but for this price I might give in. Are they any good on the sidewalk? Seems the only place I ever see kids with them is Target/Grocery stores.
  23. Thank you! I just ordered Hannah Montanna Tradeables for birthday gifts (B1G1). I decided to go with the tradeables in case the parents might not be excited about a life-sized Hannah moving into the girls rooms....
  24. You can get those little boxed puzzles, it is something they can do if you are making them wait. Small books-I started putting their stockings outside their bedroom and one gift is a book for them to look at/read while they are waiting for us to come around. You can get small lego sets for $3.50 on the website or $5 in the store (a bit bigger). I have done the bath stuff, crayons, etc too. Someone gave my young son a small toiletries bag filled with free stuff from the plane-ear plugs, face mask, lotion mints and a tiny deodorant- he Loved it- called it his "freshening kit". Go figure. For older kids/people, scratch off lottery tickets are usually fun. Small flashlights, unique pens (I found a pen with a flashlight on the end one year, or the kind with 5 colors), cute fridge magnets, army guys, matchbox cars, deck of cards, magic tricks, dice, keychains, rubik's cube (? did that make a comeback?) When my kids were a bit smaller they liked paddleballs (does Spongebob play that??) Stickers, small notebooks, sticky pads, temp tattoos, chapstick, fun bandaids (let them put on as many as they want- little kids love that). Hair ribbons/barrettes, stick on earrings. Glitter glue, face powder/compact, disappearing milk baby bottles for dolls/bears (boys like these too!). Night light. Special cup for water at night/by the bed. Journal (my brother and I liked these when we were tweens and my youngest has liked them at least since he was 4--spiral bound stays open better). Small photo frame (a picture of just you and the child is nice to add).
