  1. officemax.com has a $5 off $25 coupon on their site. you have to download it then print it; there are several on the page. They also have 500 sheet reams of copy paper for $2.50, limit two. Sorry, this isn't my computer and the settings are all different, I can't figure out how to cut and paste the link! but it is on the main page, not the weekly ad page. The coupons are good 8/10-8/18 You can also get the deals online with code DEALS
  2. I wonder if it is because of the time... maybe missed the cutoff for regular delivery? I started an order this morning for $20 and now it is up to $32.
  3. Is there a code for the 20%? I was looking at something else too. Thanks
  4. A lady at work said her 2 yr old granddaughter wants a BRA for christmas and not a training bra, a REAL bra (they tried a halftop/trainer type). They are going to get her a bathing suit top. Hmmm gotta wonder where she got That idea from! Last year my 11 yr old asked for "6 jars of peanut butter, creamy". Grandma packaged them in a diet coke box- cute. He was so happy! One year when he was smaller and learning about swear words (not allowed in our house) he asked for "A grandma that doesn't swear" (because she swears a lot in traffic!) To which she said "xxxx that!" ha ha no just kidding.
  5. They are on sale at Target this weekend for 50% off- you can get the small one for $5!
  6. My kids received Visa Giftcards last year and went Gaga over them...asked for them again. They both said it made them feel so grownup (11 & 14).
  7. You can buy plain labels in office supply and print your own at avery.com They have lots of cute variations, gift tags too! I printed mine and they are soo cute! You can print for any occasion. http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/
  8. Where is the $10 "clip this coupon" ? Is it on the Amazon page? I couldn't find it. Maybe it was only good on the 8th? Today's price is $29.69 w/free ship. I see the $15 rebate from Crest is good from Aug 1-31 as a Back To School special. This price would make it worth a try since the reviews were only so-so.
  9. Macy's or Kohls, or any department store, if there are any left from Christmas clearance. You might look on LandsEnd.com in the overstocks.
  10. AWESOME Thank you! I ordered a pizza with what *I* like on it! It will be a nice change from the $5 Little Caesar's which is all we ever get... and ordered the cinnastix. I feel like I'm cheating the store.
  11. What's in the Box: Apple [Refurbished] 8GB iPod touch iPod touch Earphones USB 2.0 Cable Dock Adapter Polishing Cloth Quick Start Guide 90-Day B&H Warranty So does it not come with a regular power charging cord? Do you charge it through your computer? What is the Dock Adapter? Do I need to buy a Dock?
  12. Thanks for the discussion, I am in the same boat with my DS11. He is always talking about a friend at school who has one, the fun games it has on it. He has a DSLite and video games which he barely ever plays. It is a lot of money if he isn't going to use it, although he is really getting into popular music now (it plays games and music, right?). It would be his only present (and it would have to be whatever one is around $100). He also has board games, big lego sets, and a bike on his list of wants. I don't know what to do either. My husband likes a BIG pile of presents under the tree, even if they all come from the dollar store, which they often do...while I prefer a gift they will actually use and appreciate. Last year I spent a lot of money on some things they hardly use. My other son wants an XBOX 360 (so does hubby) and that wasn't really in my budget either. I guess if those are their gifts, it won't matter that there is nothing else to open because they can spend the rest of the day (week) playing. ?right? My kids are very good about not wanting a lot.
  13. http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/fruit-gobbler-688370/ I made this "appetizer turkey" last year- it was very cute, everyone loved it. I can't access my picture, so this will do. As an alternative, you could just take bamboo skewers and place grapes, cheese, fruits onto them. They are quick and easy to grab and put on a plate - no grapes rolling off! The kids find them more fun to eat than just fruit. Add in some mini-marshmallows or marchino cherries for fun/color. What about something like guacamole? It is sort of 'non-thanksgiving' but everyone likes it. It won't spoil their taste for dinner and it is kind of healthy.
  14. Find out the return policy and keep your receipt. I bought these boys boots for my son last year and they came apart at the toes in the first couple of weeks! They looked just fine when we got them. Hopefully I had a bad pair, but just be warned.
  15. I agree with the digital camera. He can take still shots to make stopmotion videos. My 11 yr old loves doing this, it's very creative. How about music CDs (teenish music) if you're not ready for the ipod scene yet. My son is the same; not really in to video games. He is really in to current music, singing along and wanting to know who sings this song, etc (we don't watch MTV/VH1). My mom took him shopping for clothes and he picked out some "really epic" clothes that really make him look older/teenish; they were mostly Tony Hawk things. His friends have been complimenting him and he feels really cool. He bought himself a Miami Ink hat at Target - it has the newer flat type brim, he's very excited with that. He also bought a disco light with his bday gift card (I noticed they are on clearance at Target now). He is still in to toys though; I wouldn't worry about that. I have a 14 yr old too who just gave up Legos at about 13. He still likes to build things and make the movies on occasion, he has one friend who comes over and they build weird things if they are bored.
  16. I saw a boys 20" bike on clearance yesterday, only one model.
  17. I heard they are having big sales on School Uniform type stuff (polos and khakis) plus an extra 25% off for students or teachers, With ID (show student ID or paystub). Here is a link to the story from yesterday's GMA: http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Consumer/christmas-july-big-savings-summer-shoppers/story?id=11216312 ON Sale starts today thru Sunday, in store only.
  18. We got my son a Motorola Tracfone back in May and already it does not hold a charge. He does not use it that often; I don't think the battery is 'worn out'. We had an issue where we had to call customer service and agree, problem not resolved, he was just out the minutes. Overall, for $10 that is a good deal, especially with the double minutes. I paid more than that. Sometimes it will not receive calls; for example at the neighbor's house in the basement; sometimes it takes hours for texts to come through; other times they come right through. He texted me from camp and the messages would take 6+ hours (usually came the next day); he was at a major university, not in a remote area. I would still recommend this as a first time phone for a kid or as a backup. His dad was certain he would lose it quickly, that is why we went with a cheaper one to start; also, he doesn't need a phone very often. Since we have him buy his own minutes, he is careful with them and we think that is a valuable lesson. You can buy ringtones and games and it uses the minutes; so it is like 'buying' them but you can get them from the card you loaded on, no credit card needed.
  19. Is there a code to use online? Also, they are having $5 flatrate shipping for orders under $50
  20. What location did she hear this for? Maybe it is just her store; I think they are all individually owned? I can hardly believe that as their shoes are in the $50 range. I will be there if they are though.
  21. My son is 13 too and loves Legos. Now he is into specific things to customize what he has. He likes Star Wars and Indy and they have Halo sets out too. There is a site called "brickarms" that you can order neat, different things from (weapons). The Lego site has free shipping until Dec 6 I think. There is also an online game site that you can build cities/games with legos, called Roblox. It is sort of like a Sims situation, I think. It is probably too late for Christmas, but if he has a birthday coming...from the lego site you can design your own set- they ship it from ? sweden or wherever they are made; you can design the box and everything; we did that one year and it was a hit. Mostly my boys just want more lego men and they are harder to come by; you can get them by building them into the set, or ordering by the piece from the lego site.
  22. Apparently they don't fly to Michigan...at least not for $29
