  1. My store had everything marked down when it opened. The markdown team was still there (scanning women's lingerie) but they had obviously done the toys first. I thought it was genius b/c you don't get the swarm of hovering toy hounds (me included). It was more plesant for me as a shopper and more plesant for them I'm sure. At the other store that marked down on Thursday last week the markdown people were super plesant and scanned anything that we asked them to. I tried to only ask about a few things, but they were happy to do it. We had a great experience this year. Some years in the past not so much. It all depends on who you get and what kind of mood they are in.
  2. I'm not shopping this morning (since my stores both already marked down) but I'm hearing from a lot of people across the country that their stores are marked down this morning, so I would say with certainty that today is the day! Have fun everyone!
  3. It's a Wednesday store ususally. This year is so wacky...I would check if you can (though with yucky weather I may skip it). I mentioned it last week but one of my stores marked down last week and I've heard 3-4 people (different stores) say that theirs did the same. You just never know. Most people posting on my blog are saying that their stores have NOT gone to 70% off yet. I'm guessing tomorrow for the masses.
  4. Toys were 70% off at the Shawnee Mission Pkwy/Metcalf store this morning. Already marked down when the store opened! One aisle consolodated and the rest shoved on endcaps. However, Legos (and there are a TON of them) are only 50% off. Boo! I mostly picked up some small things...teacup piggies, those little stuffed animals, a Leapster game, and my big purchase was the 2011 Holiday Barbie. I got most of what I really wanted/needed last week. A few things I saw but did not get: Tons of baby dolls, play kitchens of all shapes and sizes, big Matchbox airplane sets, tons of Little People sets (including a few nativity sets)...there was a ton of stuff. Most coats were 70% off there, but snow pants were still 30% off.
  5. If you want a good selection it is best to go first thing in the morning. I used to think it was best to wait until 9:30-10:00 to get there so the markdown team would be done. But now with so many people shopping you pretty much need to be there early or the biggest/best items will be gone. Even if the markdown team is still working...you just wait until they get to the stuff you want or you (nicely) ask them to scan things for you if they are willing to do that. Most of the time they will but last year one guy flat out refused to scan anything that wasn't on the shelf in front of him. So I just started putting toys on the shelf in his path. Some stores will have the markdown team there early and it will already be done when the store opens (that has happened more than once to me). And some will not have the team start until 10:30 and people have come and gone by then. It's kind of a crap shoot. It all depends on what toys you want and whether or not you want to deal with the whole chaotic scene. So I guess I'm saying be prepared to get there early and wait around a while if you want the best selection.
  6. Oh, and last night I went back to the Wark Pkwy target because I needed something for an event that is tomorrow and swung through the toy section again. First of all, hardly anything was gone...still TONS left at 70% off. It's mostly all in the aisles...only one half of a consolodated aisle. But the big score was that I was looking AGAIN at the Legos and wondering why there were none and lo and behold I found two big Star Wars sets at 70% off. They were for sure not there in the morning...maybe they were a return? No idea, but it was my lucky day!
  7. 90% off finally here in KC. Thank goodness it didn't go earlier this week or I would have missed a lot of deals I came across while checking on the Christmas stuff!! No tape or anything good like that here. I did get one box of the Kleenex hand towels, but that was it as far as "hidden deals." Mostly got little stocking stuffers for next year and some ornaments and a entry-way rug.
  8. Side note on the Christmas clearance...talked to a manager and she said that she was surprised that it didn't go to 90% off today, but that it is based on how much is left...so if your store has a ton left it may not be marking down for another day or two. But she was convinced that it WILL go to 90% off.
  9. I tried to post this earlier from my phone but I don't see it (hopefully it's not posted in some random forum). But, the Ward Parkway Target marked ALL of the clearance toys to 70% off today!! I wasn't even there to check on that...just checking on Christmas and happened to see one markdown person in a toy aisle. Sure enough she was marking everything 70% off. Pretty soon the rest of the markdown team showed up and they marked ALL of it. It was awesome. There was pretty much no one shopping other than my friend that I called and a couple of people who happened upon it. Sadly the selection wasn't great overall. NO Legos...not one single set was even marked down at all. But I found a few things and depending on what you are looking for you might find some good deals. Here is what I got! Squinkies: $1.57 Tinkerbell Doll: $4.48 Orbeez Mood Lamp: $4.48 Matchbox Ship/Shark: $11.68 Matchbox Squid Set: $5.98 Motorbike: $2.83 Tiny Dino: $.74 Disney Princess big set: $9.98 Disney Princess Baby in a Bath Set: $5.98 Strawberry Shortcake Set: $5.98 Also, all of the camping clearance was 70% off...picked up a portable table for $20.98. Saw tents, sleeping bags, inflatable mattresses, and more. The sporting goods were also 70% off...motorized vehicles for kids, scooters, various balls and sporting equipment, and a few sets of golf clubs for $40. SO much stuff. This store is remodeling so I think they are marking it all down early to get rid of it. But it was certainly my lucky day!!!!
  10. Should be next week if it goes like it has the last few years. Either Wed/Thurs depending on your store's typical toy markdown day.
  11. The Mission Target (the one off of Sh.Mission Pkwy and Metcalf) was marking ALL of their clearance shoes to 70% off this mornign. There are nearly 6 aisles full of shoes. I almsot died...I had to force myself to walk away after picking out 7 pair. Christmas still 70% off though.
  12. Still 70% off here, too. I think the manager was annoyed that it was still 70% off...they were trying to reset the area but there was a TON of Christmas left. Some baseball items were 70% off and toys were mostly 50% off with some 30% off. They had started consolodating but most of it was just spread around still.
  13. I don't believe the "no 90%" rumors. Halloween went to 90% off...I think that people ask employees and those employees either don't know or they don't want to tell people that there will be a better price in 2 days, so they say "no...this is as low as it's going." But I will believe it when I see it.
  14. Has anyone found Nick & Nora PJs clearanced this year? Last year I recall that only a couple of the patterns were clearanced with the Christmas stuff and the rest followed the traditional markdown. I forgot to look yesterday.
  15. Has anyone found Nick & Nora PJs clearanced this year? Last year I recall that only a couple of the patterns were clearanced with the Christmas stuff and the rest followed the traditional markdown. I forgot to look yesterday.
  16. There was a TON left at my store today (not just the standard decor and wrapping paper). No paper goods or that kind of thing but lots of random food items and things like that. I'm hoping that 75% off will come soon!! I didn't buy a single thing but there is a lot that I will buy at 75% off.
  17. Question for those that have had store remodels happening around the same time as the toy clearance...do they move up the clearance or change it in any way if the store is remodeling? I found out from a cashier that one of my stores is going through a total remodel after Christmas and I am hopeful that they will mark everything down early because of it. But that may be wishful thinking. Knowing my luck they will just mark everything down AFTER the remodel. And FYI...this store already has a few endcaps and other various items at 30% off, but no big consolodated clearance yet.
  18. On Target's Facebook page they are saying that between Friday at 5pm and Saturday at noon you will get a $10 gift card with a $75 purchase. I was hoping for another $10 gift card with a $50 coupon, but it's something!
  19. The Facebook one isn't $10 off $50, it's "get a $10 gift card when you spend $50." So you may be able to use both since one is a $$ off and one is a gift card deal. Nice!
  20. Looking online I don't really see anything earth shattering for Black Friday...am I missing something?
  21. I'm considering framing this one. :) Note the item above the "You Saved $192"...that is a sweater normally $50 that I got for $7.xx....loved this sale!!!
  22. No...but it was marked down 66% off the regular price, so I grabbed it!
  23. Got 5 sweaters (including two that are normally $54.94), a sweater dress for DD, and two pair of girls tights for $42 + tax after using my $30 supercash. Had no issues at all with using the Supercash. I was just happy to get all of that for less than the price of one of the sweaters. :) My store was VERY busy, but the line moved really fast and people were nice.
  24. The full text of the email says no price adjustments: *Excludes Clearance. Discount taken off ticketed price. Offers valid at Old Navy stores in the US only (including Puerto Rico). No adjustments on previous purchases. Cannot be combined with Gap Inc. employee discount.
