I have definately seen my share of those. However, I think that with the economy being as shaky as it is, we will see the "kooks" come out of the woodwork.

Hopefully, these changes are for the good, not the bad.

Not to twist my ankle running for the sales at Wal-mart. Did that last year, didn't feel it till I got home. Man, that ankle looked like a pumpkin later that day!

Do you think people will sell their tickets this year due to the economy
civiclover88 replied to lovebears65's topic in 2009
Right or Wrong...good or bad economy, it still happens. I have been approached by someone selling tickets and just told him "No thanks". That was a couple years ago when the economy wasn't so bad. I personally wouldn't do it. However, I have got tickets and then gave them to friends that were in line (of course, they were further back and had NO chance of getting one). -
I too found that online is just as good or better for sales on BF. Last year, didn't even need to go near a Best Buy because I purchased everything I wanted online. Good thing is, I only paid $4.99 for shipping all my purchases.

Salem in my opinion is a zoo because of the BF shoppers trying to save a dollar or two from Mass. state taxes. My sister works in the Plaistow store and says the same thing I said about Salem. I personally have never been to the Concord store. However, there is two "close by" in Manchester and Derry. Last year, I had a wonderful time at the Epping store. IF Wal-Mart can produce a good ad this year, I will be going there again. If you peeps go to Epping, look for a big guy wearing a Adidas coat, cracking jokes to pass the time away.

Unfortunately, none of the newer PS3's (the slims) are backwards compatible. There were only three systems that were backwards compatible; an 80gb, 60gb and a 20gb. The 80gb BC system was still available used at my local Gamestop a few weeks ago. If you are going to purchase a used 80gb, make sure it has four USB slots on the front because there is also a 2 USB slot system that was not BC.

I seems like a really good idea....almost like a X-mas fund at banks and credit unions. A nice feature I noticed reading through the FAQ is that you still earn Reward Points when you PUT money on yours or others "Pitch-In Card", not when the purchase is made.

Marshmallowpuff, funny thing is, my sister used to work with the store manager for Epping. Seems like a bright guy so I'm going to assume that this year will be the same or better for the way BF was implemented.

Do you think the BB BF Ad will be good this year?
civiclover88 replied to deanabrown's topic in 2009
I have to agree with the notion that Best Buy's ad will be lackluster at best. With no REAL competition and the local WMs not having the selection or stock of BB, they have no incentive to produce a stellar ad. Just look at WM and BB for Bluray movies; my local WM stocks about 20 different Blurays while BB stocks about 2000! A HUGE difference. -
I hate to sound greedy or like a jerk but I am waiting for all of them!! I love looking through all of the ads for the BEST deal. Also, with my son turning two, I will looking for the best deals on toys this year.

Actually, the Wal-mart I went to last year implemented a ticket system for the most sought after stuff. I was a great change of pace from years past at Wal-mart.

I live in Exeter, NH and last year I went to the Epping Wal-mart. I had a wonderful time there. They allowed us to use the bathrooms, gave us coffee and donuts, and I had no problem with line cutters. For the big items, a ticket system was implemented and they even made it that NO ONE could "rush" the store, like the one in NY where that gentleman died. If they have the stuff I'm looking for, I WILL be going back there for BF.

My wife and I saw a commercial last night for one of those. My wife looks at me and says"Lets get one of those.". I told her the technology is too new and there are some glaring problems with them right now. Lets just wait and see what comes about. -

I think they will drop in price, BUT not this year. A HD website I frequent has an article stating that new production standards will cause OLED's to be as cheap to produce as a newspaper. Here's a link to the article. http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/OLEDs/Industry_Trends/New_Production_Method_Could_Make_OLEDs_Cheaper_Than_Newspapers/3361 I give it another year or so till we see a real drastic price cutting. -
I ordered from them this past x-mas and saved over a hundred dollars from the movies I bought.I highly recommend them.

Sears Sevice Nightmare- suggestions?
civiclover88 replied to rogueleader's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
This just goes to show why Sears had to file bankruptcy a couple years back.....incompetent help, sub-par products and higher prices. Luckily, I rent right now but in five years I will be shopping for a home. When that happens, I WILL NOT be going to Sears for my appliances. -
Tell me your hits this year for toys

My one year old son LOVED the Fisher -Price indoor ball pit that my wife and I set up for him on Christmas day. I think if we would allow him to, he would sleep in it. -
What has broken so far?
civiclover88 replied to thewilfords's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Knocking on wood....I have no problems to report as of now.....LCD tv, Blu-ray player and everything in between has gone as planned.....even my 1 year old son's train set. -
This sale is already going on in my area. Just got back from WM and bought the Dell computer for the $398 advertised price. I checked up on the other stuff on sale and it was the prices that are being advertised for Saturday. I guess the economy is really taking a toll on retailers when they aren't even waiting to put the sale stuff on sale. Plus I just saw that unemployment is at 6.8%....the highest in 34 years! http://www.yahoo.com/s/997473

Official One-and-Only "What I Got" / "My BF Experience" Thread

BTW.....just received a telephone call from WM thanking me for the e-mail I sent to coporate office. I was stunned that Wal-mart would take the time to call a "peon" like me about my letter. The manager I spoke with (sorry, didnt catch his name) stated that they printed out my e-mail and read it during the afternoon meeting. WM never ceases to amaze me.
