  1. I'm also looking around for the best deal...the one I like the best so far is in Best Buy's BF ad. The Samsung SC-DX103 DVD camcorder- it's got an SD slot as well so you can expand on the memory, digital image stabilizer, 34x optical zoom. It'll be $199 on BF.

    Old Navy

Old Navy is usually one of my later stops, but will have to make it earlier this year; perhaps right after BB and Target. I've always loved ON apparel, but for some reason never thought to go there on BF before. After the $1 fleece hat/scarf sale though, I can only imagine what they'll do! *Crosses fingers ad is on the way*
  3. Lots of layers...long sleeve shirt, hoodie, fleece, and jacket over that. Long undies, jeans, tear-away pants on the bottoms. Couple pairs of socks and a pair of tall, warm boots to keep the pants out of the snow and the legs warm. Top it off with some cute winter accessories (hat, scarf, couple pairs of gloves, and I'm toasty-warm until the line starts moving-- then it's time to shed the layers and shop!
  4. We always give each other a range, but usually end up going over a little bit. This year I was going to get him some nice cooking knives from Japan (he's really into cooking), but they no longer sell the knives that complete the set. I got him one thing I'm pretty sure he's expecting to get (an MP3 player), but I'd like to really surprise him with something different along with it. I also want to start a tradition of stockings for us-- it's something that's always been done in my family, but not in his.
  5. I totally agree with this-- memories of large family Christmases at my aunt's house, buried in a foot of fresh fallen snow at her house in upstate NY with this album playing while everyone was cooking all the Christmas goodies..it isn't Christmas with out these tracks. Other albums/artists of note: Carpenter's Christmas Album, Amy Grant Christmas, Pottery Barn's "Hip Holidays", John Denver and the Muppets, Narada, Manheim Steamroller, The Polar Express Soundtrack, White Christmas soundtrack, Frank Sinatra Christmas, and many others...
  6. I got a coupon for 10 off 30 that's good through Nov 30th-- they've let me use them in the past, no problem. I remember last year they were giving away the box set of 4 sprays...is that the equivalent of this years VIP bag? Is the VIP bag a limited number sort of thing? Do they start offering them at Midnight on BF online vs the later store opening time? I *really* want to make sure I get one of these bags and I'll definitely be spending the $40 needed in order to get other gifts...I'm just wondering how early should I get there in order to make sure I get one. We were planning on getting to Best Buy around midnight on BF to wait in line, but if they will run out of them by the time I can get to the mall around 9am, then I'd like to make sure I order everything online so I cover all my bases. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. :-D
  7. I'm definitely antsy myself...seems like I'm on here constantly checking for ads and checking out deals in these forums. I'm excited about the BBW VIP bag, but I know there's a lot more to get excited about yet to come! The anticipation is part of the fun! (I just wish the other parts would come faster, too. )
  8. Thanks for that bit of info! ^ Was already going to go to see about getting a Wii. Very cool!
  9. You're so right-- I just forgot. Oh well, perhaps I'll still be able to get a decent deal on Mamma Mia! at some point.
  10. How about getting your picture taken with Santa and posting it on here with a gottadeal printed page/homemade poster....have people post about their worst "White Elephant" gifts....create a model of your BF campsite/dress your pet or stuffed animal for BF and post a picture....
  11. I'm hoping for a good price on Wall*E (Ratatouille came out last year on DVD around the same time and Target had a pretty good price; I think it was $15 or so)...also hoping to find at a really cheap price: Spaceballs, Get Smart, Enchanted, Mamma Mia!, any original Star Wars... I always love going to Target to stock up on the cheap DVDs, especially on BF...wouldn't be BF without it!

  13. What a fun contest-- I love these short ones that involve some creativity. Really fun to see what everyone ends up with. Can't wait for the next! :)
  14. I did, but they didn't have any plaid patterned ones
  15. I've been shopping around for a pair of those cute rubber rain boots that have the patterns-- I'm looking for argyle or plaid patterned. I know target has them online for $25, but they're all backordered for a couple of weeks. Anyone with any suggestions?
  16. Does anyone know if they'll be selling the drum kit, mic, etc. separately? We already have all the guitars, but we'd like to pick up some of the other parts a la carte...
  17. Thanksgiving at home followed by BF shopping this year. Although it is a lot of fun to drive somewhere else and do BF shopping as well, although I don't think I've ever flown somewhere and did my BF shopping at my destination...I imagine that would be pretty tricky.
  18. Glad to hear I'm not the only one listening to the Christmas music early...I definitely loaded it on to the iPod a couple weeks ago and listen to it whenever I'm shopping online or checking out these boards. :)
  19. Our budget is smaller this year too...trying to save for a wedding and cover all the bases is proving to be tricky. Hopefully there will be some great deals to be had.
  20. You guys all hit the nail right on the head; line jumpers, cart blockers, and all. I suppose I'm fortunate in that our BB has had police monitoring the front doors so lurkers couldn't line jump. One of the things I do hate though is that big push into the doors so that your faces are on glass like in the cartoons as the employees gradually let more and more people into the store. I mean, we've waited in line for multiple hours...we can't wait 5 more minutes without getting intimate with about 20-30 perfect strangers who all seem to smell of sweat and gravy? Maybe it just freaks me out because I'm short, I don't know...all I know is that I'd like for Billy Bob who showed up after I did to keep his hands to himself.
