  1. Participating in a gift exchange should be enjoyable. Seeing as you werent' 'feelin it'' going in

and getting her name on top of it, maybe you could see if anyone wants to trade names.

Someone might welcome the easy pick up a giftcard route, giving you the opportunity to

shop for a little gift for the new recipient.

    Great idea!

  2. Ham is pretty easy to make ahead of time too. You could serve with mashed potatoes that you can make ahead of time and then reheat(I reheat them in the oven) and put together a green bean casserole, pop that in the fridge the night before and then pop it in the oven before dinner.

You could even eat the ham cold, everyone can make their own sandwiches and you can have potato salad and fresh veggies as sides.

Another idea is to buy some premade, precooked fried chicken from the grocery store. We like King Soopers (a Kroger company) fried chicken, we buy it cold, but you could buy it hot. When we buy it cold we bring it home and sprinkle some Cajun seasoning on it and pop it in the oven. Yummy!!!

I hope all goes well with your visitors.

  3. Is it possible that she would like a Target gift card because maybe she needs it or knows someone else who could use it?

If that isn't the case, look around and see if you can find anything that you think she would enjoy and if you can't then just get her some Chapstick and a gc or a bunch of Chapsticks in a small gift bag.

  4. I found these cute homemade "Gifts from the Kitchen" ideas on Whole Foods web site.

  5. :eyepoppin That's just ridiculous! Are they trying to buy their kids grades or something? I don't buy for teachers, I have 2 kids in high school and one in middle school which makes for about 15 or so teachers. I can't afford that.

I'm sure some people were hoping it would help with grades. I also think that some parents just wanted to show their appreciation. There is a lot of money in this area.

District officials said that although gifts often come "from a generous and warm place," they want to eliminate potentially inappropriate giving for three main reasons: the chance for impropriety; the creation of inequities among schools and departments; and potential tax implications "given the high financial value of some of the gifts discovered."

Here is the article from my local paper.

  6. I stopped shopping at Macys when I went to buy a bed pillow and the shelf tag said Was $80 Now $19.99. And the sticker tag on the outside of the pillow bag showed the price of $80. As I looked closer at the pillow there was a printed fabric tag sewn to the pillow on the inside, it said the original price was $19.99. So I though that I had grabbed the wrong pillow, but I hadn't, all the SKU numbers were the same as the shelf tag and the sticker tag and the sewn in tag. I asked the associate about it and she didn't have an answer, I asked for a manager and they were all too busy. So I go home and email them and I never received an answer from them either. This was about 3-4 years ago and I haven't been back since.

I know it is possible that there was a mistake made with the pricing of the pillow. If I had received a straight answer, actually any answer for that matter I would most likely still shop there.

I know the clothing has different dcpi #'s for different sizes, but at least this way you can check and see if they have your size.

  8. My store did not allow coats to be put on hold - ALL the stores were supposed to follow that guideline. I'm sorry that your stores weren't following the rules.

    Thanks:)

I had planned on getting the coats for the girls taht I am buying for from the Angel tree at my husbands office. I picked up 4 of the Fleece Hoodies instead.

    Have a great day!

  9. I was the 2nd person in our Gymboree and it was such a joke. There were two ladies that had BAGS and BAGS of stuff (including coats) on hold in the back room. They had them brought forward so they beat me in line to check out (as they went straight to the register) There were 2 coats when I got there. 2!!! I bought them both but ended up getting much better coats at The Children's Place for only a few dollars more. Gymboree had very little on sale or in red bins.

Same thing at my store. Very frustrating! When there is a special sale like that I don't think they should hold the special sale item. Its like being first in line at Best Buy waiting for a for a door buster and then being told. "Sorry we're all out they were all on hold"

  10. Wow, my store said that the totes were suppose to be with a $40 total purchase, before coupons. And they used both of my coupons. I asked while at the store If I could use the coupon with the totes and she said yes and that I could use the $10 gc coupon or the $10 off $30 and that I could even use both of the coupons I had.

    I bought

2 pairs of Grey SSSocks $10.00 total

1 pair of Blue SSSocks (For Me!) $5.00 total

1 mini Twisted Peppermint Anti Bac gel $1.50 total

    2 Nail Files $2.00 total

I also got the tote for $15.00

Total before coupons and tax. $63.50

    With gc $10 coupon and $10 off a $30 purchase coupon - $20.00
