  1. Some more info

From consumerist.com, type in Direct TV in the search box and you can find quite a bit about them. http://consumerist.com/

DirectTV has a new phone number for their Office of the President: 888-237-8327

DirecTV's CEO, Chase Carey, email [email protected].

The corporate switchboard is 310-964-5000. You might be able to get to his secretary by calling that number and saying, "Carey's office, please," in a professional and composed tone.

  2. Our "Global Bazaar" aka Design Event 2009 is 75% off. I hadn't planned on getting anything because I though the pieces I wanted were gone, but..... As I walked in to the area I saw two of the

the ones that have a twist to them. they look just like this one from Z Gallerie

DH and I originally saw them at Z Gallerie, but didn't want to pay $119.95 Instead I got two of them (I swear they look exactly the same!) for $22.48 each!!!:D

  3. I spoke to a store manager and she said the Global Bazaar was not on her list of markdowns for this week - she expects it to go down next week probably Weds or Thurs. Hopefully she's right cause I'll be there!

Almost all of our GB was gone this weekend. I had wanted a few of the furniture pieces, but they were gone the day they went to 50%. Which is unusual here, I wonder if they ordered less pieces than in the past?

Good luck on getting what you want!

  5. **I've said this before but I'll repeat myself:

When you get to any of these stores (the ones handing out make-up) THEY don't tell you what is going on, that you are only supposed to take ONE ITEM ONLY, and so on and so forth.. Even though at every store there's a person standing next to line, they don't utter a single word about it. There might be a plaque somewhere next to the line with the description or whatever..but come on who has time to read it all!!!

So if THEY don't care why should we, right??

I mean it would seem that the only people that would be at a disadvantage here would be the people who get to find out about the deal on the Net and bother to read the settlement..

Common sense is what makes most people think that they cannot grab more than ONE PRODUCT PER STORE...

There were SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS for the settlement and/or stores to handle this in a whole different manner but they CHOSE not to!!!

Also here's one more thing I'm personally wondering:

YOU DO REALIZE this is supposed to be ONLY for those people who have bought PRODUCTS from these BRANDS in a specified period of time. I for one, buy all of my make-up from Lancome and all of it comes from either Macy's or Lord & Taylor. Since I use make-up regularly you can imagine how much I have already spent in these two stores and ONE FREE PRODUCT doesn't really make-up for what they were suied for.. (On-top-of that costwise it wasn't more expensive than all of those "promotional gifts" they give you with regular purchases...)

So before you lecture ME on grabbing more than one product why don't you first lecture all of those people (maybe yourself included) who were not supposed to get ANY PRODUCTS.

I wasn't lecturing you or anyone else. I was letting people know that it is for one item only. Like you said it wasn't communicated well in the media and at the stores. I read it on the Cosmetics settlement website. Since not everyone did, or knew where to find the info I posted it so if anyone else looked at this post for information.

I have also been purchasing cosmetics from these brands (Clinique and Estee Lauder for skincare and makeup and Chanel for fragrance and makeup.) from many of these retailers, (Nordstrom, Macys and Dillards) since at least 1995 when I purchased my first skincare set from Clinique)

I picked one product, because when I read that a settlement had been reached (on Consumerist.com) I linked to the settlement website, because I had signed up on their site about a year ago and read the details of the settlement.

  6. FYI I'm pretty sure you are only suppose to get one item perperson. Not one item per person per store.

I'm not trying to be bitchy, I just want everyone to have the same opportunity to receive their free product.

Consumers will be limited to one product worth up to $25, and they will be required to sign a form declaring that they purchased the covered products between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003

A class member will be eligible to receive, while supplies last, a maximum of ONE free cosmetics product from one of the Manufacturer Defendants from which he or she purchased Department Store Cosmetics1 during the class period, May 29, 1994 through July 16, 2003, from the list of products below. If a class member has only purchased products, during the class period, from one of the Manufacturer Defendants listed below, then that class member is only entitled to receive a free product from that Manufacturer Defendant. If a class member has purchased products, during the class period, from multiple Manufacturer Defendants, then that class member must choose the ONE free product he or she wishes to claim from one of those Manufacturer Defendants. Again, these products are only available while supplies last, and no rainchecks will be issued. If your store has run out of settlement products from the Manufacturer Defendant(s) from which you have previously purchased Department Store Cosmetics during the class period, then you may claim a product (again, while supplies last) from another Manufacturer Defendant.

  7. I was so frustrated. The TAG Algebra program, Math Comp Program and the Journal were marked down to 75% off. WooHoo!

However..... the TAG Pen Computer was still 50% off!!!

I wish there was some rhyme and /or reason for their markdowns. They scanned everything individually. Like everyone else mentioned there are 30%, 50% and 75% off toys all mixed in together.

I think we should all write to them and let them know how frustrated we are.

Also the furniture and decorative items that replaced Christmas (I can't remember the name) is already clearance at my store. 30% off, Including the Philosophy 3 in 1, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body washes.

All clothing at my store was an extra 30% off the lowest marked price.
