Correct. It's part #344987, the pair of 1 GB PC25300 DIMMs. Don't forget to ask for your gift card to get it for free and for free installation. -

Updated the charts to CompUSA's announcement about the memory in the DV9407NR being 1 GB not 2, max capacity, and the gift card and apology offer. Man, my charts page is gettin some hits on it. Please be gentle with my web page! It's still a baby! -
All depends on your neck of the woods, but if I were you I'd plan on gettin in line VERY early, especially after that announcement. That's just gonna sweeten their deal and cause more peole to want it.
-
It's a type-o, but on the ad's part and not on their website. This just off the .PDF presses from compusa.com: My, that was awfully nice of 'em. That juices the BF shopping up a bit as the card they're offering can be used for anything, not just getting the laptop upgraded for free.
-
According to the tech specs, it's 1 Gig of PC2-5300, which is the standard these days for laptops. Most likely gonna be as two 512 MB chips so both slots are probably used up. Vista is a resource hog but 1 Gig should handle basic usage. You could always buy another 1 Gig chip and pop one of the 512 MBs out, giving you 1.5 GB of memory, or go for the long haul and buy a 2 GB chip and max out one of the slots.
-
Yup. This just hot off the presses, or off the .PDF correction list, at Compusa.com: That was awful nice of 'em. They said it was gonna be 2 GB so they give you the extra 1 GB free if you want it.

Think he's talkin' about this BF-worthy one: Toshiba Satellite A215-S7411 Notebook http://image.compusa.com/prodimages/56/da5c7590-eaaa-46e5-a8bc-d8a615d49bad.gif Not bad at all. It's almost exact to CC's Toshiba A215-S7413 except it's got the larger hard drive (160 GB compared to CC's 120 GB) and same price but without the rebates. Only problem is I think that must've been CompUSA's pre-BF online special as it's completely sold out.

My original intentin was to make another category to sort the laptops/desktops by recommendation: Layman, Internet Junkie, Die-Hard Gamer, and so on. I never got around to doing it. Anyhoo, just sort the list by price and pick the lowest priced one that has at least 1 Gig of memory. That one would do just fine for basic usage and internet. You can just mentally block out the rest of all that techno-babble data. -

Yeh, I admit it's upgradable and is a good starting point for die-hard gamers. But to drool, it does not just yet. Guess if 'ya want something done 'ya gotta do it yourself sometimes. -
My only regret, my fellow citizens, is that I have only one internet life to give for my GD community. Due to popular demand, and consistent nagging (just kidding, nirvana4all! You offer up some good beta-testing service), the Lenovo specs are updated in the charts. VeriFace recognition? Did I miss a jump in technology here? I assume that uses the integrated webcam. Wow. I'm still playing with my friend's laptop's fingerprint lock. These things are geting more and more like Star Trek.

Ah. Found it. They hid that sucker. And that ain't even close to making me drool until it gets a high-end Core2Duo processor, a Raptor hard drive for the primary OS, and maybe a much better graphics card other than that integrated one. Updated and done. -
Ah. I have the OD ad can. (can I say thatm since it's soo close to the ad being released anyways?) I looked through it and there's at least a half dozen more laptops for sale, the Toshiba being the doorbuster. I'll maybe try to find details on the Lenovo later.

Boy. Just can't satisfy some people. Didn't see it being offered for the desktops, just the laptops. It says '... with purchase of any laptop.' Is there an offer for the desktops, too? -
Lenovo? Umm, did I miss something? All I saw for the OD laptops in the GD BF computers listing was the 'Toshiba 15"4 2GB 160GB Widescreen Notebook'. That one's in there.

Oh, what the hey. I updated the CC laptops to include the free printer, router, and security sotware from Circuit City in the bundle. I'll let you ring out the details when you get there of BF. All GD listed BF laptops are now up in the charts, folks. Enjoy the yummy goodness. -

Technically, yes. However, that's after their MIRs and that's with pretty much any desktop or laptop from CC. I kinda hoped everyone could remember that so I wouldn't haev to put it in every CC listing. -

If I'm able to get these finished later, what else would you folks briefly like to see? I might just do the doorbusters only for the HDTVs, cameras, camcorderrs, and computer accessories. -
FYI, ladies and germs: All the BB laptops, including details on the bundles, are up on the comparison charts. Enjoy! The rest will be done shortly.
