Me and my kids love When my heart finds Christmas CD Harry Connick, Jr. I also enjoy The Carpenters Christmas Portrait the most, then Old Fashion Christmas next. Other than those, I listen to a mix of numerous songs that I compiled from various CD's Amy Grant, Natalie Cole, Vince Gill, Andy Williams, George Strait, Reba McIntyre, and many classics. For some reason, I really love Andy Williams singing Winter Wonderland.

I was at my Aldi's today to get some produce, well people were everywhere, at first I thought maybe they put something out...no. Inside it doesn't even look like they were getting ready for the holidays..no re-arranging of displays or anything No toy catalogs anywhere to keep for price-match purposes,(didn't think there would be, but I was looking.) And the lines at the register were like 15 people deep.

Hi there, thanks for asking/answering this question, I saw the fine print on the scan and noticed it said gas dryer would be more. I was about to ask that question myself, but found your reply. Assuming that is the correct gas dryer, I scrolled down and found that there was only one review for it...and it doesn't look good. Here it is: "I have had this dryer less than 2 yrs and it is already broken. The challenge with this dryer is that the problem has to do with the electric panel so your avg repair person has to order the part which takes too long - so you are stuck using Sears repair people, which is way overpriced for the value of the dryer. It seems ridiculous to me that this would break so soon. We do not overload or overuse and are very disappointed with this." *Please remove that quote if I am not allowed to add it to the post.

Thanks Ellen. Wow, that is still 12 days to wait.. If I remember correctly in the past they have had a coupon attached to the book, usually like 10-15 dollars off a 100.00 purchase. I really wanted it to come out this week. so some of these clearance deals (mentioned in the peruse the perimeter thread) could help with my 100 dollar total... At this rate, the clearance will be gone in 12 days...

I need lots of help I want to know if anyone knows of a special deal promotion that is likely to happen for Horton Hears a Who. I am not interested in any stuffed animals, but would be if there was a music disc or book with it. I want regular DVD-not blu-ray. The best price I saw it for was $16 something. I think it was at Walmart. Also there is one for near $23 dollars and it has a digital disk. I have never had one of those. Does that mean it is easily compatible with an MP3 player that has video like a Zune? Or isn't that worth the money?

Stealing or Getting Lucky.... What do you think?
allshoppedout replied to maplegirl's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I would return it, I feel it is a form of stealing--and you never know, one day you could end up using the camcorder to record something important like your best friend's wedding ceremony, or your son's performance in the school play. It could malfunction, and you'd be so so so sorry. -
Checking under the special purchase section of the Aldi's site I found this-- http://catalog.aldi.com/core/main.php?&SITEID=347c5&PROJECTNR=48& The Toy Catalog for Aldi's. Inside many pages state: Toys Available November 9. I did not see anything that I personally felt was spectacular, but there are many items in there of which I am not savvy to their usual prices, so you all could find some deals.

places to hide things from your kids at christmas! ( no kids )
allshoppedout replied to sdigman6's topic in 2008
For the most part, we put huge items in the attic...which is not fun because we have drop down attic steps, so it is alot of extra work, but very secure up there. For smaller items that I keep finding and wrapping as I go...or for food type items/chocolate/candies, I put them in storage totes and pile junk/stuff on them. Kids just think it is more of Mom or Dad's junk. It is very fun being so sneaky just to make your kids happy. -
you so very much Brad and Aaron, I haven't looked at the deals yet, waiting until everyone here is in bed. . . Haven't gotten much sleep this weekend reading all these threads.... : Anticipation--love it!

advice on buying laptop
allshoppedout replied to allshoppedout's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Thank you so much len mullen. I guess that Acer think is more of a NETbook thing, but they are calling it a Notebook. Hate it when they make it hard for us computer illiterate people. Three hundred would be a great price for me. Not much room in my son's room for a desktop unfortunately, that is why I want the laptop... I will hang tight. :) -
Shopping for yourself or others on Black Friday?
allshoppedout replied to robertmorr1999's topic in 2008
I am doing some of both but usually more for others. Slightly off topic: I have a special needs child--and he has many teachers/assistants/therapists. Every year it seems like there are more and more to buy for (like usually about 10 people!) and every year, I struggle to come up with something different, unique, affordable, but very nice for each of them. I like to spend the same/give them equal level of gifts, if I find a good buy, then give everyone, say a scarf for example, but in different colors, it just doesn't seem genuine, thoughtful...or something... I'd appreciate any ideas, on the forum or PM me if you have good suggestions. Many thanks. :) -
Does anyone have good recommendations for a laptop? Brand, style etc. I want to get a nice one for my 8th grader. It will keep him from jumping on my desktop constantly. I do not want to get him one with "all the bells and whistles" and pay alot. It is unlikely that he will need a bunch of extras. He will be using it for homework, for some music storage and some photos, I want to make sure it has enough memory. Does anyone have an opinion on this one: Acer Aspire One AOA110-1955 Notebook PC - Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60GHz, 802.11b/g Wireless, 512MB DDR2, 8GB SSD, 8.9" WSVGA, Integrated Webcam, Linpus Linux Lite (Seashell White)? it is currently $309 including shipping... What screen size is sufficient, also memory, features do you all suggest? What is a good price? Great Price? I am not computer savvy, with that said, a few years ago I had a beautiful Dell laptop, very big screen, don't even recall the model, but the plug thing went bad just after my warranty expired and they said because it was connected to the motherboard it'd be about $300. to repair, I said no way. Thanks for your input, I really need help.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
allshoppedout replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Thanks alexac, cokemeyer and jarerice for your detailed responses. I did not get to Target today, my son was not feeling well at all. If he makes it to school tomorrow, I'm flying to Target afterwards. That coffeemaker sounds great. I have found a few deals in the past on end caps, I will have to be more dedicated to searching now. -

allshoppedout replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Thanks much Ladies. I thought that might be my problem. The GPS they had says "sold out" but I couldn't find anywhere where it said when the deal changed, time zone, etc. Looks like I got 45 min. to wait and see.... if I can... -
Official Non-Woot "Deal-a-Day" Sites Deal & Discussion Thread
allshoppedout replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Ok, until Saturday afternoon, I had not heard of Woot. It is after midnight EST (so for me, it is Sunday). Is Woot in another time zone, so the deal has not changed yet? -
What are some of your Black Friday traditions (besides shopping)?
allshoppedout replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
DH and I usually make the tentative lists out a few days in advance--thanks to this forum--and then we finalize it after the kids are in bed, on Thanksgiving evening. Then one of us usually goes out alone... We get the job done, but it is very lonely.... I am a bit envious of alot of you with your fun traditions...maybe someone can adopt my DH and me...and we can have some real fun one of these days.
