  1. I already went through all of the ads without knowing I needed one. Since BF rapidly approaches, I was wondering if anyone spotted any good deals on a roku?
  2. Haha. Reunion? As I recall, I fell asleep right before it went live.
  3. REI.com does Black Friday? If I was a dog, my tail would be wagging.
  4. I'm sure someone is paying them.
  5. I don't think the trends we're seeing will last forever. I already see interest in Black Friday dropping. The boards around here are usually a lot more active at this point. Plus labor is protesting this and I think that trend will increase.
  6. What's killing me are the multiple pages of gun-like objects in the Walmart ad. They don't have enough violence in their stores on Black Friday. Let's just hand out weapons and see if it helps matter. Considering what I saw on videos last year, I would not be surprised if someone with a real gun felt compelled to defend themselves.
  7. It's hard to guess on line size because Black Friday's starting earlier than ever. Plus, as always, time spent in line will need to be significantly higher if you live in a warm climate. BB lines start very early in places like Florida. Sub-zero temperature? Not so long but extra misery.
  8. I'm with the "not impressed" club, which is a great thing for me this year. I got a way better deal on a condo than I'm seeing in these ads and I'm closing mid-December so can't do terrible things with the credit cards. That being said, I've done Black Friday for a very long time and would be sad if I missed a year entirely. Count on me for watching the Amazon lightning deals in the quest for a blu-ray player with wi-fi for under $40. I also kind of want to hit Target. They're doing those blankets they had last year and the cat is absolutely in love with that blanket. I might get her a backup in a king, and I could really use new pillows. Mine are shamefully old. That's the most I can let myself do so I'm glad the stores are making this decision easy for me. Who else thinks every year the deals will get less and less impressive?
  9. So far nothing's getting me out of the house.
  10. I agree with a lot of people on here. I've done so well in Black Fridays past that I don't need much in the way of big ticket items. I do want a good blu-ray player at a great price but I passed last year and could do without for another year. Mostly I'm interested in housewares. It will likely be a relaxed Black Friday for me.
  11. Nobody. A Target in CT (maybe more) put up a sign and offered the deal and deal hunters have been going nuts running around to WM etc. to get it price matched. There's a thread in Offline Hot Deals. I don't think the success rate is very high but persistence helps. Tonight's probably the last chance to get it so I'd head out now if you're interested.
  12. Yet to see a hot deal but here's hoping. At some point they have to do better than frappe makers and rowing machines. Get with it, Amazon!
  13. LOL! OMG amazing! You guys got a VP fired! Good job! Now what happened to the BB website jerks? Minus the one who saved me $20 of course.
  14. Weds online (BB forum buddies, where you at?) Kohls's - for just over $100 1 shirt 2 sweaters 1 giant tupperware set 1 pair sneakers 18 pairs of socks 3 sets of sheets Old Navy online for just over $60 12 shirts Best Buy $100 itunes gift card for $60 (I'm sorry! I'm sorry!) and when the sales finally went live... Nikon S8100 for $150 In store at Target: 2 blankets and 5 piece luggage set and today successfully price matched 2 $123.38 Kindle Fires at Wally World And I thought I did good last year! Now I just need to live on carrots until my bank account magically replenishes itself.
  15. I checked out another website (I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!) and some people have successfully been getting price matches at Walmart and other stores today. It looks like it always takes some argument and doesn't hurt to have copies of Walmart's price adjustment policy on hand, copies of receipts from other stores that reflect that price TODAY, and corporate's number. I struck out at my Wally World but my step-father's sister works at one outside of Moline and she scored 3 at that price (hopefully with employee discount)! 1 for me, 1 as a gift, and 1 for her. Based on the forums, it looks like people are having more success in rural Walmarts than urban ones. I would recommend this for anyone with time and patience.
  16. I've still yet to see anything I want at a great price.
  17. I drove around between 11 and 12 as I was just leaving Thanksgiving and didn't plan on getting any doorbusters and I don't know that I agree with the above. The roads seemed busier to me (by a lot) but the lines were very controlled. At 11 I drove by a Best Buy with maybe 50 people in line. They had tickets so people could have left or gone to their cars but that seems like not that many to me. Other Best Buys had much longer lines but none really scandalized me. I waited longer on my first Black Friday (maybe 6 years ago?) at the same Best Buy and was way further back in line. I drove by two Targets and those lines surprised me. The assessment of our little group is that it was a weak ad. I was going to pick up little things and was surprised that at both the lines wrapped around the building. The one I went into was very well-organized. They are truly working on crowd control and it was a pleasant experience. The 20 at a time worked (I kind of helped the security people by hanging back to create a new group, no rush here!). It was much easier to navigate the store and checkout was quick and painless. I didn't get into the store until 20 after opening but was out in less than 10 minutes. I was also surprised by lines at stores I wouldn't have expected. A Carson's off the highway looked fairly packed. They had great coupons but I'm surprised that so many people made it their first stop. Kohl's had a line and a lot of people waiting in their cars at 11. I don't know if anyone told them that Kohl's has a website. After driving by a BB I knew would be packed, I was surprised that the Old Navy one parking lot down had at least 50 people in line at 11:30. Some interesting choices out there. Curious if anyone gets a peak at the 5-6 AM traffic. Somehow I think the people at the office supply stores are going to be confused by the number of people lined up. Anyone who missed a computer deal will likely be in line now.
  18. Aaaaw I'm sorry to all of the people that had their gift cards cancelled.
  19. Decisions, decisions. There should be no more gold box deals for almost 7 hours per Amazon yet, if last night is any indication, the clues and schedule will be released in under an hour. To sleep now and the the alarm or wait and see if I can squeeze in a few more hours.
  20. For anyone still thinking about it, I just got back from Target and I think my store had over 100 of them! There were tons still on the shelf and I was not exactly at the front of the line. With the supply still left, they may still have some tomorrow.
  21. Is it just me or have we yet to see anything good this week? Are they saving all of the good stuff for tomorrow or just not competing this year?
  22. Later this morning states the obvious. It already is morning!
  23. I had the same thought. I just don't understand their medieval policy towards shipping. On another note, I'm pretty ticked at BB right now and will use their's against them. If anyone can find me something incredibly cheap, I will buy 50 separate orders of it so they can just keep paying the shipping.
