Congrats ! check with your local chamber of commerce,they can get you a local listing for venues and company's close to home and depending on the theme/date you could also check with the parks and rec in your area. theres always ebay I bought flowergirl dresses for 25.00 that I saw similiar at bridal stores for over 70.00 and the tiara/veils are also cheaper.

I just did the same thing...I found wrapped gifts without tags ,had to open and see what they were....kinda cool now I have a few extra gifts for anyone who surprises us with a visit..

my husband used to stand outside the kids bedroom windows and shake a ring of bells,now our oldest son and grandpa drive to our grandchildrens houses with large bells and shake them all the way down the block and stop alittle bit past the houses get out go to the windows and shake the bells some more.....it's so fun to see thier faces when they all come over on Christmas and tell eachother they heard the sleighbells

we open one gift (always our new nightclothes this way everyone looks extra nice for pictures in the morning) and read the night before Christmas,then off to sleep except for us elf helpers who get down to business filling stockings and placing gifts under the tree
