lol, In Florida I thought you would have to be on line by now.

Same item $129 in Walmart.

I never had much luck buying the stuff online. Even with 4G service the speeds on my phone are too slow to get the good stuff while standing on line at Best Buy, lol. At the store I guarantee you won't have a chance without being in line for a long time. This year is shaping up to be one of the coldest Black Fridays I can remember in the past 18 years or so that I've been doing Black Friday.
-
Any deals wouldn't be that great, especially on a newer phone. I just bought a Motorola Razr Maxx HD on Friday which I'm sure won't be on sale since it just came out at the end of October.
-
Yes all companies have sales and often special pricing for their service on Black Friday. In the past, one of the things they did was Verizon had double your data, etc. on BF.
-
lol. My sister has been inviting me for Thanksgiving since she got married and I think I've made it only once, all the other times I was already on line by the time.
-
Figured they wouldn't price match on BF, I think everyone has that in fine print that they will match except for certain dates and Black Friday is ALWAYS one of them.

Target to Match Online Retailers' Holiday Prices Posted on 10/17/12 @ 10:10 am ET [share this on Facebook] [share this on Twitter] Target announced that they will be matching prices of their online rivals such as Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Walmart.com and others. This online price-matching policy will be in effect from November 1st through December 16th. Exact details and restrictions should be announced soon. Target will also roll out free WiFi in all of their stores in time for the holiday shopping season. Hope they leave it on over night prior to Black Friday so I can get access. Target is right next to Best Buy. Price-matching EXCEPT for Black Friday I'm sure with about 500 other things in the small print.

Sorry but this is getting out of hand. Everyone is trying to get a jump on the competition. Used to be 7 or 8am, then moved to 5am, then midnight... some 10pm last year, now starting 8pm THURSDAY??? WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE RETAILERS???
-
Not sure if you have a cell phone yourself. Almost all companies (Verizon, AT&T, TracPhone) have them on sale usually for about $10. I bought the verizon one a few times, they come with $10 worth of calls (so the phone itself is FREE) and when calling other Verizon calls you pay $1 per day and have unlimited calling.

What city will you be shopping in this year on Black Friday?
TazErase replied to jellybean051901's topic in 2012
Feel free to join us, last year Racerfan came from Pa. and we had a great time. Not sure yet when they will allow us to start lining up this year but I usually talk to the director of security a few days before to find out all the details. Unlike most places that line up over the weekend, this is a small little known location that the line doesn't start until I'm there... lol. In the past they didn't allow anyone on line until Thursday morning but last year they allowed us to start it Wednesday evening. Still not bad considering many line up for 4 or 5 days to be first and I can usually arrive and only have to be on line for about 20 hours to be first although last year as usual it was earlier and I expect it to be even earlier this year. -

Or join me at our classified location, lol. -
I'm thinking a lot of them may try to get a jump on the midnight openings... I'm predicting many may open at 10pm THURSDAY!

That's a great camera. We used it in the pool this summer. In the past I bought a video camera and spent about $200 more on a waterproof case to take it under water, this was so much easier and better quality since that video camera is now about 8 years old, but I loved that I could go under the water with it.

I look forward to it. We had a great time last year. I have plans in place to be first again but I'd say to be safe figure about 12 to 24hrs earlier than last year. I figure within the next few weeks the local paper will be contacting me again since I'm pretty much the "Black Friday Correspondent" lol. We may also have a few others joining us this year. I usually wait to do recon about a week early and I'm going to try getting the director of security to allow tents this year. I'll let you know how it goes as it gets closer. The avatar pic I'm using os from when I was first on line in 2010. Last year the paper arrived a little late and they didn't put our pictures although they did mention our names in the paper as well as that I held my title as first for the past 3 years and that I am always first or second for the past 7 years there, lol. I think you met Glenda, her and her friend always competed with us for first place, last year she joined my team since her friend moved out of state. The pic for my avatar is Glenda, my daughter, and me from 2010.

Seems like forever... The first Black Friday I did was in about 1995. At that time I showed up to KB Toys at about 7am, 5 minutes before they opened, lol. That was a long time ago, lol.... I have since been first or second on line at Best Buy for the past 7 or 8 years. Each year I have gotten there earlier and it has become a major rush that I look forward to every year. I am planning to arrive nearly a day earlier than I arrived last year since I'm in the papers every year and the newspaper often contacts me about a week prior to Black Friday for hints of what the big items are, who has the best deals, etc.

There are a lot of things to consider if you're going to bring kids. 1) IF THEY ARE TOO SMALL TO WALK DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BRING THEM!!! 2) Where do you shop? Are you familiar with the crowds? Do you have plans in place to assure they will be safe? 3) What time do you get there? If you are one of the first you can push them into a safe place or have another adult take them to the line while you grab your other items.... YOU DO NOT WANT THEM TRYING TO FIGHT THE CROWDS AND GET TRAMPLED! For many years I refused to bring any of my kids with me. I first brought my daughter the year she turned 9. She was both mature for her age and nearly 5 feet tall so she wasn't going to get stepped on so easily. My son wanted to go and last year he turned 9 a week after BF and I let him go. He stayed with his grandfather and went right to the line while I got my other items. We were first on the line so he was able to safely make it without anyone even bumping him. If you're going to bring them you must know your location and what to expect and know from experience how to keep them safe. Safety is the number one thing, if you bring a child and they get hurt that would ruin your day and you will not get any of the items you want any way. Use caution, know what to expect, and be responsible!

1 - Keep passing the TVs down so we all get one... dumb jack@$$es don't realize this is the hard to find item and the only way for me to get it is to trick them into keep passing them down, lol. 2 - I'll hold them back... you act like a crazy woman and yell like we planned it earlier while online for tha past 3 days, lol. 3 - Sorry, not UPC code, you'll have to put him back.

I see lots of NY and NJ on here. Last year I had Racefan come from Pa. to join me on line and once again I was first. I've been first or second for the past 7 years. Not sure when I'm planning to get to Best Buy this year but every year it is earlier and earlier. I used to be able to get there 5pm Thursday and be first YEARS ago, lol. Already prepping my team for this year!! -

Works great. Not as bright as the Sony Bravia, but then again I paid about 3 1/2 times more for the 32" Bravia I am switching out for the 42" Sharp.

Shootings, pepper-spray attack mar Wal-Mart Black Friday sales
TazErase replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2011
I bring my 13yr old daughter with me as well, if she ever got a black eye and a cut on her face I would raise hell and not care if I went to jail or not. That is just disrespectful and inconsiderate people. Fortuneately nothing like that has ever happened here and she has gone on BF for a few years and never had any incidents. -
This year, because the stores opened at midnight rather than 5am, I also noticed more kids than usual, however, many of them were on the line for a while but not in the store. I had no choice but to have my kids with me on the line for a little while because my parents were going to watch them, but they went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving and couldn't pick them up until about 9 or 10pm. The choice of whether to bring the kids or not all has to be judged on an individual basis. I have been doing Black Friday for about 17 years now, and the past 8 in this area. I know exactly what to expect, I know the dangers, I know how to avoid anyone in my group getting injured, and any kids are supervised at all times and kept out of any danger. My daughter is 13 and she has gone for the past few years. At this point she is a veteran and actually able to actually help out now. In the past for the first few years she would stay with my wife and get right on the line when she got in the store and hold my place until I got the non-doorbuster items. I do not recommend any kids unless you are familiar with what to expect on BF. You mentioned you have an 11 and 12 year old, that should be a safe age to start taking them depending on your location. If you live in a notoriously rude place where people don't give a damn and would just assume trample kids to get their items (such as NYC, ie Walmart 3 years ago) then it is best to leave them home.

First in line again in 2011. Racefan and her family was also at this location this year. The line only got longer after this video but I wasn't going to get off line after about 9pm to do any more videos, lol. [video=youtube;WfH88liDd-4]http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfH88liDd-4
