Looking for things to add to my grandson's presents, will definitely keep and eye on Target since they sometimes carry things I don't find elsewhere. Good news!

Shop Early! Possible Shortages Loom This Holiday Season
okannie replied to magickallight's topic in 2021
I have already been buying anticipating having trouble finding what I want or getting it in time. I won't overpay for it though. Already buying my candy making supplies for Christmas and making sure I have pumpkin and the like. I always shop early anyway but making sure all is covered this year. I will shop the sales for anything I want to add extra or get for a birthday present. -
Thank you for starting the black friday discussions and monitoring sales The contest prize is fabulous, too.

Kitchen aid mixer for $159 would be the best deal if it was posted today

#1- Black Friday shopping is exhausting- I am just going to shut my eyes for a minute. #2- My hands were on it first! #3- You need to let the worker in the back through.

My closet is beginning to look as though it is a department store. I have gifts for my SIL from my brother, gifts for him from her, gifts for my GD and GS, gifts for DIL and son. I may have to start wrapping before Thanksgiving just in case someone peeps in a closet

One of the favorite memories our family has is at a Target. It was back in the day when all the sales started in the early a.m. so we planned our attack on Thanksgiving day then set out to shop at 1 a.m. We were at the Target store about 6th in line..we were there to get Guitar Hero guitars...remember those . Well when the store opened my son was yelling 'Woo Hoo...go,go, go' and then took off running. Guess who made the news reel that night on the local news...MY SON yelling and everything...it was hilarious to watch and hear.

Walmart doing the deals on their website and seem to be holding up the Black Friday ad, probably hoping we will spend more before that. I don't have the patience to dig through 2000 sales

I like the electric throw at Target for $20 and the boot sale for granddaughter. The baby monitor was about half price at $69 and can use it for the addition to the family next year. The women's shirts for $4, too. So far most of my interests are at Target.

I used it last year and really liked it for the same reasons you mention.
-
My problem is I am not really looking for a lot as we have changed what we are doing in gift exchange since the family is so big. I did find a mixer on sale for my dd for her birthday in January. In the target add, I saw the baby monitor that is on sale but couldn't get it in the early access so will have to try for it on Black Friday, having a new grandbaby next year so have to start collecting

Don't like it but if it something I am shopping for I always figure it is worth a look online but I won't go to the store to do that.

#1- I know it was in this store ad! Where is it? #2- Look at all those shoppers, we are so excited to see them! #3- You got it, hand it here honey!

I feel like we are just seeing the same things year after year. A person only need so many electronics or gadgets and if they last for several years then no need to buy a new one. I, too, have yet to get excited about any ad. We are even thinking about going out after the mad rush to look around but enjoying our dinner first. I have hated the early start times since they began and now with finding sales before Black Friday/Thursday it is beginning to seem much ado about nothing.

I would love to see it go back to Friday openings so all the workers could spend the holiday with family, too. I really enjoyed getting up in the middle of the night to go with my family to stand in line with some coffee waiting for the opening visiting with others in line. With the earlier openings there a lot more people crowding in the store, you had to be really committed to get up in the a.m. to go out in the dark and cold to wait in line so it really pared down the masses. We would go get breakfast afterwards because we would be done about 9a.m.

I bought a couple of ipods a few years ago that were refurbished and they held up well and saved me some money too. If you can find them I would get them.
-
I am getting my list made out of what I am shopping for...sure hope Walmart puts the sheets online this year.
-
I agree with this...we are beginning to find a few things on our list at good prices so we won't have to try and get them on Thanksgiving Day in the crush...
-
Been scouring the sales and the ads...starting to pick some of the early items up...getting excited now...
-
Each year it is a little more online especially once the sale ads post so I can tell if I am getting a good deal. If it is a must have I prefer to put my hands on it at the store but for things that won't be a big deal if I don't get them and I can get them ordered Wednesday or Thursday morning then online it is.

What's everyone's #1 Black Friday item on your list so far?

My son is hoping for a good deal on an XBox one bundle...everything else is flexible...the whole family has lots of electronics and not interested in getting new at this point..if I found a good deal on a Tivo mini might get that...
