I’ve never taken my kids shopping. The areas I shop in don’t generally have issues but there are tons of people; I’d consider taking DD14 and/or DS21 with me but definitely not my younger two. I’ve seen the younger, crankier kids and I just would not want to do that to my children. Luckily, I am in a position where I don’t have to. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

There was a coupon attached to the books mailed out. It’s regional; some received spend $50, get a $10 gift card and other areas received spend $30, get a $5 gift card. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

I do about 90% online now. Last year, I only went out Friday morning to Pet Smart and Home Depot. Black Friday 2015, I don’t think I went out at all. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

I suck at those things too, lol but here’s another view of last years tree Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

Riven3d called it...the sale starts this Sunday, the 29th and covers video and board games. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

I purchased this tree last year as I needed a new living room tree. I loved it so much that I am considering getting another this year to replace the family room tree. I love that it can switch between white and multi lights; and the remote is a huge plus too! Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

Just wanted to add that if OP’s daughter has asked for an Apple Watch, she more than likely has an iPhone. The cellular version does not require you to add a line; it is paired with your current line. While you don’t need your iPhone if you have the cellular version of the watch, they are meant to be used in conjunction with the iPhone.

I am looking for a deal on a chromebook for DD7. DS10 got the Samsung that was on sale last BF at Walmart and it’s still doing great for what he uses it for. They use chromebooks in school and rarely have to print as they can just submit assignments online. The chromebooks work well for their YouTubing too.

Bed Bath & Beyond is still big here in South Jersey too. I never step foot in there without a coupon and they constantly send them. They are one of the only places local to me that sells the trash bags for my can and the coupon makes it an even sweeter deal.

That had to suck...I remember what the line looked like when I would be exit; I was usually in the first 10 or so people so I know what you mean.

Thanksgiving is extremely relaxed in my house; I start cooking the night before. I get up early that morning and I’ll run out to a store if there’s something I want; think Kmart, CVS, Dollar General, etc...I come back home and finish cooking; I am always done no later than 1pm. We all kind of eat whenever so if I want to lie down for a while or run out around 8 or so it’s not a big deal. Last year I didn’t feel a need to go out as I ordered everything I wanted online the night before. I did get up Friday morning and head to Home Depot and Petsmart.

Kay B Toys used to be my first stop. I remember standing in line at the mall, which was nice because you were inside and not out in the cold. Then as you walked in they would hand everyone a large clear bag and the best thing was the line went through the entire store so you were able to shop as you were in line.

DD7 is a young 7 (9/27/10) but she is all about the LOL Surprise Dolls. There’s a YouTube channel she watches where they act out skits with the various dolls, etc. The small ones are ridiculously hard to find in my area. I have already ordered the LOL Big Surprise Set and I am happy to say that it is already in the holiday closet. I watched an unboxing on you tube and I know that she is going to be thrilled come Christmas morning.

Tree either goes up Black Friday or the following weekend. I generally put up 2 trees and I am contemplating adding a 3rd this year. I have already started thinking about the outside of the house and what I would like to do; I get bored with decorations easily so I am constantly buying new things and switching back and forth through the years. It’s an addiction for sure but it’s my favorite time of the year!

Black Friday shopping has turned into the week of shopping for me. It generally starts that Sunday/Monday with Kohl’s and Best Buy’s early access. I shop at least 90% online now. As the ads come in and I compare to my kids lists, I decide what can be purchased prior and what I should wait for that week. Last year, I only ventured out Friday morning for a new tree at Home Depot and a dog bed at Pet Smart. That’s the extent of my strategizing; I don’t have a shopping buddy so the more I am able to order online the easier it is.

I’m hoping DH replaces my series one Apple Watch with the series 3 cellular version. I’m not expecting a deal on it; maybe a gift card with purchase from Best Buy or Target.

If the 13 Days of Halloween is an indicator, we’re in for the same hand-full of movies. I’ll still watch but I remember when it seemed they actually put effort into what they showed.

Just ordered the LOL Surprise Doll for DD7; I expect these to be hard to find the closer we get to the holiday. I had a $5 Target gift card and with my red card I got it for $66. First gift out of the way!!

Had to google but that looks like it can be loads of fun for the entire family! I'll have to remember it when Target does their board game sale.

I use the santa's little helper app on my iPhone. I only buy for my 4 children, DH, and my mom. I've already started adding gifts that I think they will like; I will finalize the kids once I receive their lists. Once the ads come out, I maintain a list of stores/sites that I plan on hitting and what I need for each of them. The only other thing I have is a running list of all online purchases and I mark them off as they are delivered.

Budgeting for Black Friday - something to start thinking about now
tyreejames replied to budgetsRsexy's topic in 2017
Lol, my husband is pretty much cash only; every day he empties his pants and tosses it. Every so often I empty out wallets and vehicles. At least once a week we sort it by coin type in individual jars. The jars are in our bedroom. We used to save change for specific things; brought our first Wii when they were released with change. Now we go from year to year and use it strictly for Christmas shopping. We've made a game of it and try to beat each years amount the following year; we easily have over $150 in quarters already. I also wrap as I go along because it needs to be wrapped for our credit union to accept it. This way we pay no fees using coinstar or anything. -

I have had a Christmas Club account for years now (vacation club too; great tools!). The money will be released Oct 1st. DH and I also save all of our change and I'll cash that in right before Black Friday (usually between $400-600).There is also a set amount that he will give me starting in October. We've been doing it this way for a while now and it works great for us. -
Just got my email; it will be Saturday, the 3rd.

I would have never thought of this! Thanks so much; just did my pre-order [emoji4]

Went to Home Depot this morning and got the $79 tree. Drove over to Target and took advantage of 30% off clothes with an additional 15% off using cartwheel and of course my 5% red card discount. Then we sat for about 15 minutes waiting for PetSmart to open. Still didn't hit Bath & Body Works; I'll see if I feel like it later. If not, then I'll order online.
