Yes, how to get it to stay...I tried the command hooks last year (l’m in NJ) but between the weather and the size of the garland it didn’t work out. It’s a nice thick, garland from Costco’s Kirkland brand.

If you do get a new tree this year, may I suggest a pre-lit that offers both white and multi-colored. I have one (purchased on Black Friday at Home Depot a few years ago) and I absolutely love having the option between the two. I usually plan for the weekend after Thanksgiving for both the inside and the outside of the house. Does anyone have any suggestions for hanging lighted garland on a vinyl fence? I need a new tree for the family room this year and my plan is to use the tree that usually goes up in the living room. That will give me a reason to get a new tree for the living room [emoji319]

I would love to see a deal on a nice dollhouse for 18 inch dolls; in the $150-175 range would be nice since they’re all $200+ right now. A deal on wireless beats as DD15 is torn between those and AirPods, but leaning more towards the beats. And finally, a nice deal on the Nintendo switch...

My budget is about $2000, give or take a few hundred. I am not including food and decorations in that; that’s for gifts only. I’d add another $300-400 on food and decor; the amount of totes I have with Christmas decorations is getting out of hand.

The option to outright buy the phone is always there; you won’t see a discount or gift card for doing so though. Even if your phone provider doesn’t want to sell it that way, you can always go through Apple.

My Christmas Club account is available today so I am definitely ready for the season! Happy October!

This is on my list for DD soon to be 8; she’s a huge Mario fan. I’m not expecting a deal on the system. My plan is to upgrade 2 iPhones during Sam’s Club one day sale in November; those upgrades usually come with a $250 gift card each. I plan on using that for the system and a few games. If I find a better deal outside of Sam’s or Walmart, those gift cards will go to other items.

My favorite family tradition is when we go around to look at the lights and decorations. We do this every Christmas Eve around 7, 7:30....we stay out about an hour or so and once we are home, the kids all head for their rooms. The youngest still leaves cookies out and thankfully the older ones don’t give her grief for it. My favorite personal tradition: I am always the last person up in my house. I do t put presents out until around 11:30, midnight. Once everything is just right, I get a glass of wine and jump into A Christmas Story. I’ll watch for an hour or so and then head to bed. It’s my quiet time to reflect, enjoy the tree and other decorations and as I like to call it, “the calm before the storm”

My favorites in no particular order are: A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation and This Christmas... For animated specials: Charlie Brown Christmas, the Grinch and most of the Rankin-Bass catalog.

I have the throw on my list this year for....my pug [emoji4] when she’s on the bed with me and I pull mine out she snuggles right up. I’m going to get her one for her bed! I’m undecided on if I want solid or a print; decisions, decisions, lol.
