Yes, childofsolitude, I have read many post from you and know you work for Target. My problem with Best Buy in this particular instance is that they had just changed over their policy....they use to have a return policy that had no time limit and then they changed it right during this timeframe. I was not aware of the change until I was making the return. Also calling someone irresponsible and lazy for losing a sales receipt is a bit presumptous on your part. You do not know circumstances or the situation...don't lump everyone together Your response to my posting is clear that you are a little agitated by customers but not everyone who returns without a receipt is a thief I also stated that I was bother by the inconsistency in their policies depending on the manager on duty or the store you went. Those are my grips with Best Buy and I still am comfortable with my reasons behind them...sorry if that puts me in that catergory of undesirable customers for you...but we can just agree to disagree :)

I am looking for a Telescope for an 8 yr old. She is very interested in Astronomy and has been since Kindergarten ( read all the school library books on the different planets). Hubby and I have done preliminary research and understand that a really good one for a kid is around $200 This is okay with us, since we know she is very, very interested in them. Anyone have suggestions on where to go to purchase one maybe locally so we can try them out and comparison shop??? I live in the surburbs of Atlanta and would like to get it for Christmas as well as a good book for her. Thanks for any help

I think you are right...it is a hit or miss. I have done several stores in my general area and some of great and others are average. By the way SuperMommy I love that outlet up your way....I make a point to stop whenever I get a chance to

This was the very reason I stop shopping Best Buy as my main supplier of Electronics several years ago before they could look up purchases with phone #'s . I bought someone a gift, lost the receipt and the store would not take it back it was 32 days after the purchase (person out of town and missed the cut off). The main problem for me with Best Buy is that it really depends on the manager you get that day or from store to store, policy is not consistent. I work retail management for many, many years and understand the whole return scam, but most consumers and returns are not scammers and don't like to be treated as if they are. When you work in retail, you get to know those that are because they do things that are not the norm and it is always the same people...very obvious.

They have a system set-up where when the retailer scans it, the warranty is activated and by the date. You can just go online and signed up your name with that serial #. They already know when it was purchased, because of the scan of the bar code HTH

Okay I would suggest these since it it mostly males in your household. Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Smash Bros Brawl (my girls actually enjoy this game- it is fighting with all nintendo characters- princess peach is pretty tough to beat) Guitar Hero ( if he likes rock music) I like this one myself Madden 08 for football lovers, Tiger Woods 08 for golf lovers (haven't played them myself but hubby enjoys them especially Madden) And Metroid Prime 3- This by far is my hubby's absolutely favorite Wii game. I don't get it, but he loves it. Games I like to play with the kids are : Super Mario Party 8 Playground Both of these games are for 4 players and they are fun to play with anyone of any age (my youngest is 5 and she can play these), very family orientated. I am waiting for Mario Kart (driving game) love the arcade version hope this one fun to Hope this helps:D

I am driving down to Florida in a couple of weeks, and you guys just reminded me of how nice it is to stop along the way and get some fresh fruit.

I think that their are very few that acknowledge the customer. I shop in the Coach store sometimes (when they send me coupons, LOL) and just the service you get from them reminds me of how good specialty retail use to be.

My hubby has xbox 360 and loves, madden 08 and call of duty 4. We have a Wii for the girls and to play together as a family. We play some Mario games together. Hubby loves the Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid on the Wii. We also have Guitar Hero but on the xbox and we rock out all the time. Is this your hubby/bf or son you are buying it for???

What kind of games does he like: action, sports, music (like guitar hero, rockband), group games (some mario games). There are so many varieties and something for everybody. You will not have a problem if you get a Wii. You will need one extra wii remote, system comes with one, and two nunchuks (some games require them. Instead of buying a separate wii remote get the wii play game which comes with a wii remote.

I think it is all about the stockholders. If they decide to take the money being offered for their stock then the other company (Microsoft in this case) will buy them out. Usually the stockholders sell because they are only really interested in the return on the investment and not the company itself. Then Microsoft has ownership because they own the most stock. This is one of the reason why some companies like to stay private, to maintain control.

This is such a great idea! Wish I had thought of it. I have a cousin who is very meticulous like this.
