  1. The Target ad has a picture, and it's the same Nook as the one at Wal-Mart. I already checked. I just wasn't sure if they were only price matching things that they have in their ad that are cheaper in other ads, or if it's anything in their store that someone else has on sale in their ad.
  2. I think I read somewhere that Wal-Mart will price match any other Black Friday price? Target is going to have a Simple Touch Nook for $49. I know many Wal-Marts carry this Nook. If I wanted to pick one up on BF, would they price match the Target ad? I've never price matched anything in my life, so I'm totally clueless.

  4. If you're wanting towels and sheets, I would highly recommend putting someone at each "station" and have them just wait. Both of those items were gone within seconds of "go time" at my Wal-Mart last year. There were several fights as well, and I even became the victim of a random punch in the face. People started lining up for those things 2 hours before the sale started, but it differs from store to store.
  5. My favorite thing about Black Friday is all of the great people I meet while I wait for go time! We love trading stories about past Black Friday shopping experiences, and in the end we always end up making plans to grab things for each other. It's great!
  6. If she doesn't mind having a gently used one, check places like eBay and Craigslist. I found two for $30 each at Plato's Closet, a resale shop. You're more likely to find one at shops that buy used clothing as opposed to ones that only take donations. Make sure you google ways to tell if they're a knock off. Most of the time it's pretty easy to tell. eBay has a buyer protection program that will help get your money back if you think you ended up getting ripped off on one. A friend of mine found an authentic one on there in like new condition for $30. Definitely a steal!
  7. Running through the store Looking for bargain towels Got toaster instead
  8. Oh my gosh! Where do you find these deals? Would love to have some new Vera luggage, but don't want to pay full price! Was also looking to buy a new North Face.
  9. I got punched in the face last year over towels. A few pallets over, there was the start of a riot at sheets. They had to bring Wal-Mart employees come over and threaten to escort people out. I also saw a pregnant woman push someone over a towel a few years ago, then I saw the same pregnant woman outside smoking a cigarette as I was leaving the store. Why do people go so crazy over these towels?
  10. Definitely signed up for a card. We always try to make a stop at Lowes every year.
  11. 1: (Woman in the black jacket) “I mean it. Don’t come near my television!” 2: (Lady in the white coat) “I changed my mind! I’m going home!!!” 3: “Mom said I would have a place to sleep while she shopped, but this is ridiculous.”
  12. I'm Julia! I'm a college student (graduating in May... yippee!) originally from Southeast Missouri. I've been Black Friday shopping since I was 16. I usually go with my mom and sister, and last year we took my college roommate from Zimbabwe who didn't even know what Black Friday was. We usually stick to what's in our area which is Wal-Mart, JCP, Sears, Office Max, and a few other small chain clothing stores. Might try going to the city this year depending on what is in the ads!
  13. I bought one present for my mom and one for my sister. I usually wait until the last minute to shop (super bad habit) but these were really good deals (one of them was an antique that has been outrageous in price everywhere and the person who was selling the one I bought had it was underpriced) and I knew it was something they would love so I went ahead and bought them. I'm still trying to find the "perfect" gift for my dad.
  14. I don't have kids, but I do have nieces. The oldest one is almost 9 and I could NEVER imagine taking her with me. She's very mature for her age, but that has nothing to do with whether or not she can handle BF. The people in my town are ridiculous. Last year I got punched in the face over a towel. Those of us who had waited for the last few hours had formed a plan to grab as much as we could, run to the candle aisle, and then we would equally distribute them. A woman showed up about 10 minutes before go time, and kept trying to push and shove her way to the front of the pallet. No one would let her through so when the Wal-Mart employee said "GO!" she charged to the front and threw a random punch. Unfortunately, that punch managed to hit my face. And as silly as it sounds, I'm glad that I'M the one that got hit. There were SEVERAL children around me, and that woman could have easily hit one of them instead. People don't care and many of them have the mentality of "They shouldn't have brought them if they didn't want them to get hurt." Leave her at home. I know a few people might suggest that if you bring her, leave her in one spot of the store and tell her not to move but if you're going to do that then why would you even bring her? Plus I'd be worried about her the whole time. With all of the craziness going on, do you know how easy it would be for someone to walk off with her? It just doesn't seem worth it. Too much can go wrong.
