  1. Our local WM had lots of the pajamas and about 5 computers($398), they have everything set up in the front of the store where a pizza place used to be. I didn't notice what else they had from BF.
  2. Woo Hoo! I hope WM and BB are planning some good deals. I think that from Thanksgiving up to Christmas Eve, a lot of the stores have some pretty good sales. I got a few really good deals last weekend at JC Penney and Sears - not quite as good as BF, but still saved money!
  3. This year for the first time I think, I am probably 75-90% done with my shopping. Most of it is wrapped and under the tree. And I put up my outside lights. Still need to send Christmas cards.
  4. What do you give your mail lady or man? I have a mail lady who has been delivering my mail for 4-6 years. I usually just leave her a small gift on the last mail delivery day before Christmas. This past year I have received many many freebies and packages that she has had to leave on my porch. I feel like I should give her a little more this year to compensate for all her work.
  5. I might or might not do Best Buy. I did not end up camping out this year as I had planned. I really didn't think people would start lining up at noon. They do have some really great deals in my opinion. But, I really will have to think about it for next year because you pretty much have to plan on spending all of Thanksgiving day and night in order to be sure you get what you want (big ticket items anyway).
  6. Thank you all!! I am just not going to worry about it.
  7. I usually send them out right after Thanksgiving. This year I am not sure. I have a steady boyfriend who does not live with me and I am not sure how to sign and return address the cards? My relatives will expect to see his name on the card, but if they send one back with his name on the envelope, my mail lady might get confused. Also, I did not ask him if it is ok to put his name on the card. What would you do?
  8. This is the scenario. I buy the Click DVD for $7.99 at BB (just an example). I give it to my brother for Christmas and give him the gift receipt also (just in case). It turns out that he has already received the DVD from one of his inlaws. He goes to exchange my dvd for something else. Of course he is going to think that I bought it for the regular price of $19.99. Would he be mad? This can go for any of the Black Friday deals. If they are not exchanging because of a defective product or wrong size, they are going to know that you "cheaped out" on them. What do you think of this?
  9. Went to Meijer's on Thanksgiving night after I realized I wasn't going to get my 189 desktop at BB. Went back to electronics looking for the GameBoy with 2 free games (it said "choose from any GBA games in stock). Got the last Game Boy. My son picked out the 2 games, 1 for 29.99 and 1 for 34.99. It wouldn't ring up right. Waited for about 15 minute or so and the manager came up and said it was only for games 29.99 and less. Didn't argue, just picked out a different game. But the ad did say any game in stock. My son was just happy to get it.
  10. $189 desktop at BB. Only because there were a ton of people in line already when I got there at 6PM. Decided other people wanted it more than I did since they started lining up at noon. Got everything else I wanted at 8am though. All in all it was a good BF!
  11. Best Buy - about 40-45 minutes Harbor Freight - 2 minutes Sears - 10-15 minutes Keep in mind that I did not go until about 8AM on Friday.
  12. I spent about 400 all told. 300 at BestBuy Harbor Freight and Sears, but brought home around 650 worth of stuff. 100 at a couple of stores that didn't have BF sales. I only did that because I couldn't get my computer and I figured I could finish most of my shopping with the extra money.
  13. I went to our local Walmart last night (Sunday) and they had a ton of the Yasmine dolls left, probably 10-15 of the $10 Doodle bears and monsters, too many easy bake ovens to count, and lots of other toy deals. I was surprised. They must have stocked alot of the deals to counter some of the violence .
  14. I couldn't find it in my Walmart. The only pallets I could find were the ones in the regular black friday ad. The pallets were in the middle aisle by groceries. There wasn't anyone in line yet. I tried to ask in electronics and they said the regular person was on break and they didn't know. I tried to wait, but then I just gave up. I wanted the $189 computer at BB, but when I went at 6PM, there were 30-50 people in line already.
  15. I am very excited too! I can't wait!!
  16. The $99 computer is $559.99 with $100 instant savings and $360 in mail in rebates. Too much out of pocket for me right now.
  17. I have had no luck at all with Wal-Mart bikes - the cheaper ones anyway. We have had them repaired, replaced, etc. I think alot of it has to do with the way they get assembled. My warning would be to check it over to make sure everything is tight and appears to be assembled correctly before leaving the store.
  18. The 189 desktop at BB and a couple of other small things there. Hollyberry, I think you should do great on clothes. Next year I am going to save some money to do some clothes shopping for myself too!
  19. I just bought Desperate Housewives when it came out for $20! When I got it home and stuck it in my computer is when I realized that I need a new computer (couldn't even install it) and that black friday was coming. That is my number one item, the $189 desktop.
  20. The CompUSA emachines (T6542 I think) for $299 is a better computer but does not have a LCD monitor. Plus I can't read if it says there are rebates, probably. I am still going for Best Buy.
  21. That emachines almost tempts me away from Best Buy. It has a DVD RW, a larger hard drive and XP media center software instead of XP Home. But the Best Buy one has a LCD monitor. Can't read the model number, but looking online it looks like it is probably T6542.
  22. I would just tell a few people behind me that is what you are going to do so that they know in advance and don't cause a fuss. That way if people farther back try to question you, then the others around you can back you up and tell them that your brother was standing in before your friend got there and that your brother is not staying in line too.
  23. I haven't done it for BF, but a few years ago I wanted a newly released book and the only place I could find it in stock was at Meijer and I didn't have the money for it that day(Kmart or Walmart I could have did layaway), so I just stuck it in the back of a stack of older books and went back a few days later and it was still there.
  24. Not likely. Best Buy is a 40 minute drive from my house. I am going that way this Friday the 17th though, so I plan to stop in to see how it is set up since I haven't been there in a year.
