  1. Just got back from Walmart and Target. They were both busy, but not crazy like I thought they would be. I was going to go the mall, but after waiting in line for 15 minutes just to get into the parking lot I decided I will go very early tomorrow morning.
  2. I would also take the cards and by 3 gits that you think they would like and tell them the gits were from their grandfather.
  3. Yeah, to the mall and target.
  4. Yesterday my husband came home with a $400 watch that was a gift to him from his boss. We definately do not have that kinda money to buy her anything that expensive. This really sucks, because I feel obligated now to spend way more than I want to. I know I shouldn't feel that way, but I do. Anybody have similar issues and what kinda stuff did you buy in return?
  5. I bought my husband a nice watch and some cologne for X-Mas, but then I find out he got me 5 gifts. Now I need 3 more, wait maybe 4 more. He came home from work yesterday with a very expensive $400 watch from Gordon's Jewelers that was a gift from his boss. I think I am going to have to take the watch I got him back, since he already has quite a few nice watches and definately dosen't need 2 more! Any suggestions?
  6. I work for a major uniform company and we service many oil drilling companies that require nomex. You might wanna try this website: www.workrite.com. We purchase all of our Nomex from and they do a great job. I do wanna warn you though the Nomex is really hard to come by right now. We have some orders that are delayed by 5-8 weeks. The reason is that the US military gets first dibs. As far as price, fr clothing is quite expensive. Good luck!
  7. How old are the kids that you are getting this for? I am considering getting this for my son, he is 4 but has some learning delays. Do you think that this would work for him? Thx
  8. We went to Toys R US and had a little sucess. He was interested in a skateboard and The Alvin and the Chipmunks game. He really liked the game, so that will probably be what puts a smile on his face.
  9. They are very cheap at Gamestop.
  10. I will not be done shopping until the stores close on Christmas Eve. Everyday I have a new list of stuff that I think I need, but probably don't. All I have left to wrap is the santa gifts and whatever else I buy between now and then.
  11. I also got one from Penneys for $14.99
  12. Thanks for all the replies, I do feel much better knowing it's not just us! :) The only two things he is really big on is wrestling and video games. He already has a ton of wrestlling figures and they already have a wii, x box, playstation II and III, psp. I am going to take your advice and take him to toys r us this evening. We'll see what happens!
  13. We have been asking my ds7 what he wants for Christmas for the last month and all he says is I don't know. He has not told us 1 thing he would like. His answer to my question today was "Just make my list and put what you think I want". This is getting frustrating, because we have bought him things that we think he would like but I wanna see his face when he opens that 1 special gift that he really wants!!! I don't know if the problem is that he has sooo much that he can't even think of anything else he could want or if he really just hasn't seen anything that special. I am guesing the first. We work really hard to give our kids whatever we can, but now I feel that it was too much and now Christmas isn't going to be that much fun. Have any of you been in this situation, and how did you correct your behavior without throwing your kids into shock when they don't get whatever they want all the time? This really is the first time I am realizing that they are spoiled beyond belief and don't want them to grow up to be ungrateful and expect everything to be handed to them. Also does anybody have any ideas on what that 1 special gift could be that would give me that smile I really wanna see.
  14. I was going to say JC Penney's too. I saw them there last week while shopping for my son.
  15. All gifts should be appreciated whether you really like it or not. When people ask what my kids want I give them a list of ideas, they are not expectations! At least they put in some thought and took the time to shop for you.
  16. I didn't get this coupon in the paper. In fact there was hardly any coupons in my paper today
  17. If you have a Ross Dress for Less around you I would try them. They always have those for pretty cheap.
  18. My boys are still young 4 and 7 so we definately do equal gifts. However as they get older I will talk with them and let them know that since their gifts are more than their siblings they will get less and it will go by $ amount.
  19. Having worked in retail before I can understand both sides. I agree that customer service is not what it used to be, however that is because of the same people you are calling to complain to, Corporate. They are so worried about the bottom line that they understaff their stores, and don't properly train their employees. I will admit that I talk like a sailor, but would never use that language on the sales floor. That was unacceptable. I would bring that part up to corporate, but the rest will not even get followed up on. When I worked retail our managers would tell us when customers would call with complaints or when corporate would let the manager know of a complaint. They would laugh or make jokes about the customer. Good customer service starts with the top of the chain and trickles down. I believe that if corporate makes their employees happy, we too as customers will be happy! :)
  20. I would be very upset if my dh did that to a list I had made. Gifts are just that gifts (something that you put thought into) not what the receiver demands. Is that the fun of Christmas, opening gifts and bieng suprised?
  21. I thought I was done with my boys and about 12-15 each when I decided to check out the toy hype at Amazon. Well you know the rest! I have never shopped there before, but WOW I found some amazing deals. They now have about 20 each.
  22. I really don't like to bake too much, but I do make fudge every year and finished that last night. :)
  23. We always pre-order everything from Gamestop and have never had the trouble you guys seem to have. They always call (automated) us a few days before the release date to remind us and have always had what we ordered. I guess it all depends on the management and we have been very lucky. However I do not think that I would give them $250 upfront since they really can't guarantee when and how many they will get in. It is kinda up to how many Nintendo can produce. I dont think this was a very good move on Gamstops part, they are gonna have alot of ticked off impatient people who have their raincheck and want it now! (which most people would)
  24. I am one of those people that have about 40 people on my list : my two boys husband step-daughter step-son 3 nieces mom 2 sisters mother-in-law father-in-law teacher neighbors 2 grandmas grandpa brother-in-law co-workers 2 aunts 2 uncles my son does a book exchange at school my dh family does a name exchange so 4 more gifts
