There are other items but those are the biggest ones

  2. I don't know why people are waiting for PS3...

Sure... it will be probably be great, but not too much is known about price, what games will be available at launch, what will be included in the box....

I can tell you 1 thing... about it... it has the ugliest freakin controller since the Atari Jaguar.

With XBox 360, we all know what you get:

    Premium $399:

XBox 360 system with chrome DVD tray

    1 WIRELESS controller

    XBox Live Silver membership

XBox Live Gold 30 day trial membership

Headset/Mic for online chat / voice recognition in games

    20 GB Hard Drive

Standard TV and HDTV connectors included

LIMITED TIME- Bonus media/DVD remote included (Green sticker on box indicates whether you get it or not)

Plays mulitpayer games online via XBox Live Gold*

Plays many original Xbox games with more games added every month!*

*These features require the 20 GB hard drive that is included in the Premium pack.

    Core $299:

XBox 360 system (without chrome tray)

    1 WIRED USB controller

    XBox Live Silver membership

    Standard TV connector

While it is obvious which configuration is the the better deal, at least Microsoft is giving people a choice. Some people are simple, just want to play games and don't care about the rest of the stuff. They may be on a budget... the $299 system is perfect for them.

The $399 is the best bang for your buck.... especially if you are gonna play online, and have or will be buying an HDTV.

Right now with PS3... we don't know the price and what you will get at that price! Also... if you are "waiting for PS3" because you just cannot find an XBox 360... next year, it will be the same or worse when you try to find a PS3. PS3 launch will be more popular just due to the fact the Playstation has the most brand awareness than any other video game system. People will check it out due to word of mouth. "Hey man, the new Playstation is out."

Also... once again... would you rather play a game with this controller:

    or this one:

  3. Went to Walmart Supercenter at about 10:00. Got in line at layaway (this was the designated place for the line)..... only 5 people waiting... at 12:00 there was only 15 people in line. 36 systems total. 28 Premiums, 8 cores. Very professional employees. They had games and accessories laid out there for convenience. Picked up Perfect Dark 0 too!

    $399console+$59game=$458-10% employee discount=$413+tax.

  4. Walmart has XBox360 in their Jan 1st ad and each store is getting about 12 systems... wife says Jan 1st is when layaway re-opens. Any truth to this? I really can't afford $400 this week for an Xbox... but if I can put one on layaway... I can pay it off in a couple of weeks. Anyone know?
  5. I actually built my 3 year old a computer for her room for Christmas. She gets on ours all the time for NickJR.com, Noggin.com, disneychannel.com etc. I didn't spend much though. I have a bunch of computer junk just piled in our storage room. She got a Pentium 4 1.6 Ghz (I had to get a new motherboard... fried the old one), 256 MB Ram, 15 GB Hard Drive, 40x CD-ROM. Bought a new tower case/power supply for $35 from Fry's and a USB Wi-Fi adaptor for $9.99 from Ebay. Spray painted the case & keyboard casing pink, then stuck Dora The Explorer stickers all over it. Bought a Dora mouse at Fry's for $15. Configured Windows XP so that she has NO admin rights, NO "Start Menu"/Taskbar, and no address bar or favorites in Internet explorer. The only thing she gets is a desktop theme of Dora, and customized desktop icons that take her to:

    Nick Jr

    Toon Disney

    Playhouse Disney

    Disney Channel

    Noggin

    Cartoon Network

    Dooglebops

Wife and I can add more kid friendly website icons and software as needed.

PC Anywhere is also installed so we can look in at what she is doing from time to time.

    She is gonna love it!

  6. Ross, I will follow your request about not posting about those particular programs... GottaDeal doesn't want to get into any legal hot water... and I completely understand that... but I just wanted to say 1 thing... there is no such thing as an illegal P2P program... just actions that people take on them can be illegal. The media has just made it sound like... if you are not paying money for it, it is illegal. A lot of startup bands use these freebie programs as a way to get their music out then. Ok... I am done now. :D
  7. 4 xbox 360s--sold for 1000,910, 710,710

    3 BF laptops(BB) --sold 1 for 550

    3 BF desktops(BB)-- sold 2 for 420 ea.

1 dell laptop paid 520 after rebate sold for 650

    PRETTY DECENT

    /yourself

Really though... there were people who waited in line for hours for this stuff... who really wanted it... for themselves or for gifts... not to scalp them on Ebay. God I hate that crap.

  8. We got the Vsmile for $49 - 10% emp disc = $45ish

Then we grabbed 2 games and PM'd them from Target's ad for $14.99.

I didn't realize it didn't COME with an AC plug. I think I will just buy some rechargable batteries... that way... I can just charge them... and she can tote the machine to grandma's for weekend stayovers.

  9. Tip for seeing if a Target near you has 360's

If you call guest services sometime after midnight but before 8 AM (why before 8? Because that’s when the stores open) go through the VRU to inquire about the availability of an item and they will ask for some of your personal info (name, address, phone number, email, etc) and then the SKU/Item number you’d like them to do an inventory search for. They will search the inventory database with in a certain radius of your home zip code and tell you what stores have them in their inventory as of the refresh from the prior night.

    Guest services 1-800-303-0308 Option 3, Option 3, Option 2, Option 2

    premium xbox 360: SKU # 207-21-0001

    core xbox 360: SKU # 207-21-0002

BTW, Anyone in the Phoenix area... according to this service, Acradia Target @ 45th ST. & Thomas has them in stock... RIGHT NOW!!!! Store opens at 8 am.

  10. The last day for layaway pickup at my local Walmart is the 17th (POSTED in the layaway dept). It is different in each store. But I doubt they would want to piss off X-mas shoppers who got their paycheck a day late...etc. I bet they don't return holiday layaways to the shelf until after Christmas.
  11. Seriously though, what time should we get in line if we want one of these? The law firm that I work for has pooled enough money to purchase one for the children's home and we will take turns sitting in the chair to keep our place but how early should we get there?

Get in line at 5-8 PM on the 17th... NO JOKE.

  12. Ok... here's the deal... I got one of the Walmart HP laptops on Black Friday for $378. Wife works at WM. That day, the store manager said no employee discount on "Blitz items." A week later, they hand out special cards out to employees that "Take an additional 10% off any 1 item." We are pretty much done with our shopping and aren't buying anymore big ticket items, so tonight we asked the CSM on duty if we could use it on something we bought "a couple of weeks ago." He said , "Sure. No Prob. I'll just do a price adjustment for 20%." That's right... he gave us the originally denied 10% AND the additional 10%. $378 - 20% = $302.40!!!!!!!!!! :greenappl:trampolin:gd_pineap:clapping::gd_shake:
