Hey there... FYI... when you get your 360, be sure to send in the card and $60 to get the extended warranty. I just had to send my 360 into Microsoft because it had a "hardware failure." But Microsoft has acknowledged the problem in the early batches of the system and is fixing all 2005-made systems for free. But if I were you, I'd buy the $60 warranty.

peachysquirt...how do I get that pic you used? Not to add here on this site..
I think you can get an avatar after you have a certain amount of posts.

Anyone know what the real limitations are of the "core system"? Is it that it won't play the original Xbox games because it doesn't come with the external hard drive? The $300 core system is a much more attractive price than the $500+ bundles. I don't need the wireless controllers, or the HDTV hookup, or the Live trial CD's, or the the Live Headset, or the bundled games. However, if I need the external Hard Drive to play the original Xbox games then I'll have to buy that as well.
But the thing is... if you plan on buying a hard drive, then you might as well just buy the Premium system.
Core system = $299
Hard Drive = $100
Total = $399
Premium System = $399
Premium already comes with a Hard Drive... AND...
Wireless controller
HD cables
XBox Live headset
Chrome trim (Believe me... the chrome tray makes the system look better)
Also... you need the hard drive to play old XBox games... however... they are not all 100% compatible... the only games supported are on this list... but Microsoft is updating the system to add games to this list all the time:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
To use XBox Live you need a Hard drive or a 64MB memory card. It is VERY dumb to opt for a memory card over a hard drive.
Hard drive is 20 GB for $100
Mem card is 64 MB for $40
Get the premium! Anything else is a "Tard Pack."

Arrowhead Mall is pretty good and has the stores you are looking for... but the Walmart is 1 mile north of the mall. I say hit Wally World 1st... last year I was in line for the laptop at 10pm... and was #17 in line. Go EARLY!

I am glad I live in AZ. A hoody and jeans pretty much takes care of me on BF!

Didn't we already have some ad's by this time last year?

If you have a Java enabled cell phone (NOT BREW), take your phone's WAP browser to http://mini.opera.com and download opera mini. This is a mini version of Opera browser that will allow you to view regular webpages on your phone and rearrange/convert them into a format that conforms with the small screen of your cell phone.

I am telling you... HDTV... 30" LCD... $588.... BET!

I remember during last year's BF hype, there was rumors of a "Cyber Monday" after BF that would be for online shoppers... how did that turn out last year? Wonder if it will hppen this year?

They are going for $80 on Ebay! I predict $250-300 TMX Elmos on Ebay this holiday season!

I plan on watching Walmart for a HDTV and a laptop. My MIL is buying the toys for the kids, so I don't need to be there for that stuff. Hopefully though, the TV and laptop will be in the same area.
Last year the EDTV Plasma and Laptops were in the same line at my Walmart.
-
Brad, it is early enough to get this started... we should work on getting a customized T-shirt or Sweater with the GottaDeal logo across the front (and back?) made so that we can order them in time to represent this site when we are out shopping on Black Friday!

FYI for Fry's shoppers...
Fry's Electronics ads are REGIONAL. Many times they have the same sale items at the same prices... but not always. Sometimes, if the Fry's in Renton, WA has an item on sale, don't expect it to be on sale in California or Arizona.
However... I have noticed a trend that the different regions may have the same items on sale in their ad, but the prices may differnet in each region.
Eample:
A month ago... The Fry's in Renton, WA had a 60" Mitsuibishi DLP HDTV for $999, but in Phoenix, AZ the same TV was advertised for $1299.
A good resource for seeing what Fry's has on sale is:

Last year, I was #17 in a line of about 100 people in front of the customer service area of a Walmart Supercenter. The line was for the Plasmas and Laptops. They only had 10 Plasmas and 40 Laptops... yet the remaning 60+ people STILL continued to wait all night in the line! I kept my eye on the people toward the back and kept expressing concerns to the employees about cutters or line rushers (that would hit when the items are brought out). Luckily our concerns were addressed when management decided to hand out tickets IN ORDER of the line for the items we wanted. No ticket, no sale.

Well... after BF shopping, usually hit Dennys or Ruby Tuesdays.
Christmas morning is different. We open presents... then I usually buy breakfast sandwhiches for everyone at Jack in the Box. Jack is one of the few places actually open on Christmas.

An Office Depot employee on another site mentioned that OD will have the Olevia 32" LCD HDTV that was on sale last week for $699 as a doorbuster on Black Friday for $500. He posted no proof of this, just said that the info was based on inside knowledge.
If that is true, that is where I will be! If it doesn't involve a MIR. I despise MIR.

Glendale/Phoenix.... Northwest Valley... Arizona
Usually hit Walmart or Kmart first.
-
I am sure they will...but with higher quantities this time...
It was the same way with their desktop PC 2 years ago.... not enough... but then last year there was plenty to go around.
I am hoping for a decent HDTV deal... My guess... 30" LCD $588. THAT would get me into line right after my Thanksgiving dinner!
-
Or is it random tips every year? Just curious if you guys have friends on the inside from stores like Walmart or Kmart....

I got my chair too... and I didn't even have to pay for it! I got it by quickly signing up on one of the freebie posts! It's pink and says "4imprint" but it's a sturdy chair!
