  1. OK i just had to do a little more searching & b/c what I found didn't look like a robot to me, but hey I'm 58 I think a robot should have a head, arms & lights so what do I know, I found a toy called a shell shocker that was called by the Toy Industry Assoc "best toy for boys for 2006 went to the Tyco R/C Shell Shocker from Mattel. And it is one of the ugliest RC toys I've seen. But the Shell Shockers performance is amazing." Here's the description that I found "With a rhino-type "skin" and a scorpion-like tail that whips around, the Shell Shocker is one beast of a radio control vehicle. It transforms from a cyberball to a cyberbeast in seconds! Mud, grass, pavement can't stop the Shell Shocker, the incredibly adaptability will fascinate kids!"

I don't know if I can post a link to another site to show you a pic of it but it truly is ugly.

http://www.amazon.com/Tyco-Radio-Controlled-Shell-Shocker-2d/dp/B000BY5ZBY I hope this site goes thru so that you all can see this thing & cashandra you will know if it's what your son got. If the link doesn't come thru on the post PM me & I'll send it to you.

Even tho I'm old I can remember when my kids were little & they had their hearts set on one main thing & they got their hearts broken. Especially since you thought you had done the right thing & not knowing would drive me nuts. So maybe there's a tiny chance the mystery has been solved.............

That is the exact toy that my MIL got my son for Christmas that he was happy with, but wasn't THE "shell shocker" he wanted. And now that I think about it, it was Christmas of 2006 because my middle child was just a baby at the time. But yeah, thats the gift he received and it is UGLY! LOL I called it a robotic toy because it has a remote controller to go with it.

  2. I just asked him if it was anything to do with books. He said no, and walked away. I stopped him and told him to tell me what it is that he wanted, and his face just turned red and he turned and walked away. He won't tell me! One of these days I'll figure it out.
  3. Two years ago, my son asked "santa" for a shell shocker. We had no clue what the heck a shell shocker was. We told my husbands mom about it, and she thought she knew what it was so she went out and bought a $100 robotic toy called a shell shocker. He opened it up and was happy with it, but it wasn't what he wanted. He would never tell us and ever since then hasn't believed in Santa because santa didn't deliver his shell shocker. We still have no clue what in the heck it is. It's one of those things I can't get off my mind because I have to know, and he won't tell .
  4. I just went and checked it out, and your right. I can't find anything with a layaway icon either. So much for that one... I had planned on putting some stuff on layaway at Kmart this weekend, and my kmart is about 1/2 hour away. I live in a small town and so if we want to do any shopping, we have to drive over to the next town anyway to do it. Thought maybe this would save me a trip, but looking like I'm gonna have to drive over because what my kids want isn't part of their layaway deal.
  5. Lets see, two years ago I woke up on Thanksgiving morning with the flu, very very sick. Friday morning came around and I was still sick, but couldn't pass up Black Friday so I got up before my hubby got up for work, snuck out and did my shopping (the things that I didn't want to pass up), and when I got home, my husband was on the phone with my mom (this was at 6:30am) because he didn't know where I was and was wondering if I drove myself to the hospital in the night and didn't tell anyone. I had a few people worried! Thats about all the excitement I've ever had in the last 3 years I've been shopping on Black Friday.
  6. have a golden key invite to join a Hallmark campaign to send greetings using my cell phone- not going to use my golden key for that as we dont even use the internet part of our phones due to the added cost!

I got invited to this one but seeing as we have Verizon Wireless as our service provider (VW wasn't on the list of accepted cell phone carriers) I couldn't accept it.

  7. My softsoap bzz package came today. It had some coupons for $1.00 off one bottle, and 7 nice sized trial bottles of body wash. There were 3 of one kind, and 4 of another (can't remember off the top of my head what fragrances). So, no full sized bottles, but the samples are nice :)
  8. i got in on the childrens zyrtec as well. I got an email saying my softsoap is on its way, i assume no one has recieved thiers yet? In the email it says something about samples included-im wondering if that is all we will get, or if we get a full size and some samples?!

I copied this from the email:

Find a new home for your current soap or body wash because your Softsoap®BRAND Nutri Serums BzzKit is on its way — and these new softening and nourishing body washes are too good not to use right away. Why would you want to wait for softer, healthier-looking skin?

Plus, the sooner you use them, the sooner you’ll be able to form an honest opinion and start spreading some great Bzz.

Remember to hand out the samples of Softsoap®BRAND Nutri Serums and coupons from your BzzKit, and to let us know what people think by submitting BzzReports.

So, it sounds like we get full size bottles then samples in each to hand out.

  9. I think that they are going to be hard to find. I want a set myself when they come out, and I know of lots of other "adults" who want them to collect themself. So, taking in the fact that adults and children together want these things, I have a feeling they are going to be scarce and hard to find. I personally would buy as soon as you find a set.
  10. Logged on to do a report and found an early invite to Softsoap campaign! (no email came for it?) Signed up though.

Also, forgot to check the box that everyone in my report knows I am a bzzagent (my mom was who I buzzed, she is an agent too so she knows I am, just missed the box) and it made me go through this dumb disclosure training thing....

I got in on the soft soap also!

A leaked Toys R Us ad obtained by Kotaku shows Nintendo is taking $50 off the current Wii console price point, bringing the system down to $199.

The ad is expected to hit at the end of September.

Nintendo wouldn't confirm the validity of this ad to IGN, saying the company doesn't comment on rumor or speculation. Calls made to Toys R Us have yet to be returned. If this ad is legit, this would go against Nintendo's recent comments from president Satoru Iwata made last month, saying "at present we're not thinking of doing anything with the price."

Of course, Iwata's comments were made before Microsoft and Sony made price cuts to their own respective consoles.

  12. I went grocery shopping at our Super Walmart this morning, and there was a guy walking out with a cart full of cases. I asked him how much he paid for each, and he said as long as you have a Meijer ad that you only have to pay $3.99, then he gave me his Meijer ad and went on his way. I was able to grab 4 cases of pop for that price, but they did ask to see the meijer ad.
  13. Alabaster, AL..

All of you Ohio peeps should get together for lunch or a midday break, lol. that would be fun!

That would be fun! Especially after a morning of shopping by myself... that's what has happened the last few years... Hopefully I find someone that loves Black Friday as much as I do to shop with me.
