  1. Last year, I had a "feel good" moment. Walmart had DS's on sale on BF (the mario limited edition ones), and my aunt was looking for 2 for her grandsons. Me and my mom went a little early to see if we could snatch any up and by time we got there they were gone. Called my aunt and she said she had someone else pick them up so she did indeed get them. My mother and I was standing in line and I decided to go back to toys again to grab another Hannah Montana doll that was $5 for a gift for my cousin, and lo and behold there was a mario nintendo DS sitting right there on top of the toys. I didn't need it, but I picked it up anyways because I just couldn't believe I seen it sitting there. I walked back to my mom in line and told her about it, and the lady behind me said," Ma'am, I overheard you and you said you weren't buying it. Did you have any use for it? I guess that was her main reason for shopping walmart last year and didn't get one. I handed it to her and she was the happiest person I'd seen all morning! She was on the phone calling her husband with joy and thanked me a million times!
  2. I heard through a source that in December only if you purchase something at a store other than Walmart, and walmarts price goes lower for that item, you can return your item at that certain store, bring your receipt to Walmart and purchase it there for the lower price, and get a Walmart gift card for the price difference.

    Example:

    A doll at TRU: 29.99

the same doll at Walmart 19.99

Return the doll to TRU, get your money back, then go to Walmart and purchase the doll at the lower price, show the receipt of your TRU purchase and get the $10 back in a Walmart gift card. Sounds cool to me! I guess they are going to be advertising it at the end of November.

  3. Honestly? I just want to see that my kids have a good Christmas! I just got a job to be able to help out with Christmas this year as my husbands hours have been kind of low lately with the weather (he's a roofer). My kids have been super awesome though with asking for things, like instead of my dd handing me a super duper long list, all she is asking for is a snuggie, and a t.v. and dvd player for her room. I seen that portable dvd player at office max in the BF ad for $30, and that would be perfect!

But seriously, I don't want nothing. Nothing at all :)

  4. A KMart closing? I wonder why ; did they mention a reason in the newspaper article?

Yes it's because their lease is up on Feb. 1st, and they just decided that the store wasn't doing enough good to lease it another year.

  5. Just wondering buy why dont you allow your children to have toy guns. I mean im only 19 right now, but i can remember they were some of the best toys i ever got to play with haha. Just a thought i suppose. I guess this will be weird since i was the person asking for it, but i remember asking for a Panda when i was younger. You have got to love what some nightline about pandas will do to a little kid ^_^.

I don't like guns period. My Daughters uncle was killed by a gun by her own father because they were all drinking and recklessly playing with a gun. I won't allow one in the house and if my children want a gun when they are older so be it, but never one in my house whether a toy or not. Even though they are toys, I don't want my children to incorporate the word "toy" with the word "gun" at all.

  6. Ok I remembered a toy called "shell shock" my brothers kids have it , here it is! Cheap too! they called it their "shocker gun"

So, he came home from school today and I showed him the link and asked him if it was it, and he put a cheesy smile on his face and then wiped it off right away and said, "whats it matter mom, you won't let us have any toy guns so why you keep bugging me about it?" Yeah, I won't let them have ANY toy guns AT ALL (not even nerf guns), so thats the reason he wouldn't ever tell me! He figured Santa would bring it to him and I wouldn't find out until after he opened it Christmas morning! Oh well, least I can let it go now... Thanks MingMingDucklin!

  7. I usually put in a couple favorite candies of each child, a toothbrush with their favorite character, favorite toothpaste, hairbows for my DD, usually some sort of crayola book and markers, and smaller toys for the boys. This year however, it looks like we are going to have to skip filling the stockings and concentrate on the gifts. Not alot of money to work with this year so I want to make sure what money we do have to spend on the kids' Christmas goes a long way. Going to try to skip the little not necessarily needed things (like the stocking things) and get them each a couple large gifts and thats about it.
  8. I bought them for my kids one year (at the time I only had 3 kids, now 4) but we walked in and each child had a coupon for a free cone. Since we were all together, they wouldn't let us use 3 coupons for 3 kids. Not even rung up seperately. So, we got one free one and had to pay for the other 2, so I don't buy those coupon books anymore. They are a ripoff if you have more than one child IMO.
  9. HMMM then i'll look some more b/c since I know that isn't it, definitely not what I call a robot, but like I said I'm old, I'll look back a year earlier.

Sounds like it's bothering you guys just as much as it was me for awhile! LOL I eventually calmed down with it, but it still lingers in the back of my head and I think about it once every so often!
