Cornmeal cookies
1 1/2 sticks of butter
3/4 c. of sugar
1 egg1 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
Mix butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add rest of ingredients and mix well.
Drop from a teaspoon or small scoop onto a baking sheet.
Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes until lightly browned.
Also works well in a cookie press.
Option - 2 t. Lemon extract

This is the first time for about 16 years that I have not been an election judge.
Vote by mail is an option with ballots drop boxes or mail in.
Hope to work the polls again in 2 years.

I am totally not feeling it this year. I might feel better after the election is over. But I still have a lot of dr. appointments on the horizon.
Luckily my buying list is short because I am not excited about buying anything larger than a flowering plant.
I did find an amazing photo I am going to get copied and framed for my BIL.
Hope we get tons of snow this year but that is not forecast either.

Delivery snafus have started already! We got in someone else's Walmart package. It had the correct address (I think) yet, delivered to me. I was kind enough to deliver it properly, but I'm not sure how many people will actually take the time to properly deliver especially if it is pretty far away or if they kinda like what you ordered.
If you call the carrier back (UPS/Amazon/Post Office) do you think they will come get it from you or show up at the wrong house?
I got my next door neighbor’s package and both our house #s are clearly marked. Was not to far to walk;). (Amazon)

I am more at a loss this year than ever. No one needs much except groceries. I usually make jam and bread for gifts. Looks like more of the same. :|

Yesterday this non-baker took on a new baking project for Break Fast after sunset tonight. Here is my first ever chocolate babka, and done in a shape of a star.
Recipe is from Frum It Up. She posted it on YouTube, but I had to email her for the written instructions.
That looks amazing. Bet it taste great too. Happy baking.

There are 2 Supercenters here and as of last week both entrances at both stores are open. Plus no more one-way aisles.
Ours has one door totally blocked so you can only go in the grocery end. Good hike to the pharmacy.

I kind of feel like doing gift cards or cash this year. Jeff Bezos has profited so much from this pandemic and treats his workers poorly so I would like to spend my money elsewhere, but it is hard to get away from their selection and speed of delivery. I would love to support brick and mortar stores more, but I have been avoiding public spaces as much as possible. I don't really like going into stores in a good year....
Thats why I do a lot of Walmart.com. Very speedy shipping here but I dont think it is usually next day. Some of our friends work at walmart too and they are great with grocerys. Ymmv

First time poster here. Used a site that was just shutdown. It’s nice to see activity on here. I’m looking forward to seeing how this year plays out. I like the idea of starting sales earlier. However I know that’s a really easy way to overspend.

I would be interested in the Gopro camera too IF it could be attached to our (wire) fence to watch all of the local wildlife animals at night we sometimes see in the daytime?.
Have not researched them yet except to look the other day and saw $300 price.
Anyone know? Thanks
