  1. I keep reading the reviews and getting mixed messages. On one hand, there's problems with the tape peeling off parts of the wall or not sticking and on the other, when it does work, the kids seem to have a ball.
  2. Jingle All The Way Miracle on 34th Street- 1994 Version Die Hard Miracle on 34th Street- Original 1947 version! Mickey's A Christmas Carol Home Alone Christmas Vacation It's a Wonderful Life A Christmas Story Eight Crazy Nights Surviving Christmas The Nitemare Before Christmas Polar Express The Christmas Shoes The Santa Clause The Grinch
  3. Don't worry about missing the first round...there are three more after this one!! I didn't include any of the animated specials because I was going to do a separate one for the half-hour to hour holiday specials, but ended up tweaking this tournament around too much o even think about starting a second. I may try it next year now that I have this one somewhat nailed down. As for A Christmas Carol..........two years ago, I listed about 15 different versions of A Christmas Carol and had people pick their favorites and took the top 5, which ended up being Scrooge 1951, George C. Scott, Mickey, Muppets and Scrooged. Last year, I took the bottom 4 films out and put them in a head to head vote against 4 nominations. Jim Carrey's version beat Yes, Virginia! There IS a Santa Clause and earned it's place in the tournament. I may do a shuffle again and switch versions next year to keep things fresh, NTM, there's some new holiday movies out now that may find there way in here next year. I'm too tired to post my picks now. g'nite all

  5. Can anyone give me a review about this. I'm getting mixed reviews from TRU and Target, but it's a Hot Toy out now that my DS-7 would like. Thanks for the input.
  6. My DD 9- So far, got a Karaoke Machine, 8' Soccer Net, New Soccer Ball, Tattoo Set, Snowboard, Simon Flash and a Microscope w/ extra slides. She wants an IPod touch, A Laptop, & A Phone, but she's nowhere near ready to handle the responsibility. A friend gave her an old Iphone that didn't have the phone hooked up to it, but she could still use it as an IPod touch. She lost it in three weeks. I found it under her bed after cleaning her room, gave it back and she lost it again a week later.

For the girl, I agree with Pottsie, My DD 6 loves the Moxie Girls and the Disney Princess dolls. (esp Tinkerbelle) You could also look into dress-up clothes, My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop. For the boy, if you wanna go the Star Wars route, but in a slightly different direction, there are alot of smaller lego Star Wars sets and with the sales going on, you can stretch that $25.00 a long way.
  8. I won't bring my kids out on BF!! This year....I didn't go out til 4pm. My wife worked the overnight shift and had to get her sleep. Me and my kids cleaned and decorated the house for Christmas. BF shopping wasn't even a thought in my head, because it's not a safe place for my kids to be. If they want to go with me when they're older, then fine, i'll take them. Til then, if I don't have a sitter, bottom line, I don't shop.
  9. Went out late BF to Michael's and picked up a 7 1/2 ft pre-lit tree for $199.00 and a pack of thumb tacks for $2.00. I had a coupon for half off 1 item, but didn't know it didn't apply to the tree since it was already marked down $200.00, so my Total savings was $201.00!! Went to Target last night and got the 7pk Disney Princess Dolls for $39.99. I used my Red Card and got 5% off so the total came to just above $40.00. Saved $29.00!!!

    It's coming..

It only comes once a year!!!!! It's a month long celebration of cheers and tears!! It's a perfect compliment to your Holiday Meal or Shopping Purchase!!!!! IT'S THE 20111 GOTTADEAL HOLIDAY MOVIE TOURNAMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2010 was filled with surprises!!! And it culminated with a final 4 showdown of epic proportions!! The Santa Clause burled past The Original Miracle on 34th Street, Christmas in Connetcuit and Home Alone 2, before putting an immediate halt to Elf and cruising to the final 4!! 2009 Champion Christmas Vacation was looking to repeat and was on a proverbial tear, going through Last Holiday, 1984's A Christmas Carol, White Christmas and Christmas with The Kranks to enter the Final 4 Showdown!!! They were joined by 2 Newcomers, The First, Polar Express!! Yes! It hit the Express lane and flew past Santa Clause 2 and Holiday Inn, had a close showdown with The Grinch and beat It's a Wonderful Life to earn it's spot in the Final Four! And lastly, Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas!!! This reative dark horse, proved that it belonged among the elite, first beating Home Alone 3 and Jingle All The Way!! Then in an unprecidented first ever 3-way dance, Mickey emerged on top beating both Diehard and Fred Claus and to top it's Magical run, beating 2008 Champ, A Christmas Story and entering it's first trip to the Final 4!!!! The sparks didn't end there as the voting took off in their respective matches!! Polar Express faced Christmas Vacation and Mickey squared off with Santa!!! Fighting for four days, til we had two Titans of Holiday Movies left!! 2009 Champ Christmas Vacation and The Santa Clause!!! One looking to take it's place among the elite and one looking to add to it's Iconic Status!!!!! And Five days later............... by a single vote..... A NEW CHAMPION EMERGED!!! As Santa Clause beat Christmas Vacation!!!!!!!! What will happen this year!!! Tune in and find out!!!
  16. All four of my kids (dd 9/5- ds 10/7) have these and love them!!
  17. My oldest son has Aspergers and he's usually good for an unusual last minute gift request, like an original Megazord. (Found it on Ebay for a house payment, but I told him Santa was too busy and he was cool with it.)
  18. New Slippers and Tie!! Sry...had to do it!! Howabout a trip to Spring Training for his Favorite Baseball Team. A Fishing Trip- Don't know much about charters, other than a few in S. Jersey, maybe have him pick one. Scuba Diving Trip BTW- I like the Vegas Idea!!
  19. I would lean towards the "Not" category. I like my Thanksgiving day and spending time with my family. Why would I cut out that family time so that I can line up on a Holiday in order to save a few bucks. I've found out you can score the same deals online, as well as, waiting patiently. The stores panic if they still have merchandise on the shelves two weeks before Christmas and drop prices!!
  20. Haven't read it yet....thanks to all for posting it!!
  21. We've been putting them in the attic for the past 7 years, but with the kids getting older and more anxious on Christmas Eve, we may store them in my neighbors garage.
