  1. Their site is really weird (and slow!) today. Try logging out and then when you go to log back in (by clicking on "my account") you should see a place for "key code" which is where you enter your code, either for $10 off of $30 OR for free shipping... hth!
  2. Hi - my retired father (60's) is really in need of some interesting activities he can do at home to occupy his mind and time. He has already tried paint by number kits and I think may be bored now with those. Does anyone have any good ideas and/or deal tips on other types of hobby kits for adults? I'd like to get him some for Christmas. thanks a lot!!
  3. sign up on wiialerts.com and zoolert.com. those two are the best way to get notified quickly whenever it comes in stock on any of the online sites. good luck! :)
  4. thanks - awesome find! I always bring a small gift each year to our two Thanksgiving dinners so this will be perfect (now only to figure out where to store it for a year so I won't forget where it is!) :) oh, and actually the platter is only $2.25!! :)
  5. same here. I just use regular alkaline batteries in both the remote and the balance board and they last a long time!
  6. yes, you can stack two at a time. Usually this would mean a %age off plus free shipping. There almost always is a free ship coupon and at least 15% off coupon code around for card holders.. hth!
  7. If you have their credit card, you can get free shipping as well as 15% off using these codes: 15% off code (card holders) NOV08NEW expires 11/30 Free Shipping (card holders) MVC5657 expires 11/30
  8. oh - just had an idea for the kitchen set. Last year DS5 got this rather pricey set from an amazon 3rd party seller that basically amounts to a rubbermaid box filled with all sorts of things to play restaurant with - a paper tablecloth, pad for taking orders, apron, paper menus, salt and pepper shakers, plates, cups, some food, etc. It even had some cheap plastic ketchup and mustard containers in it from the dollar store. Anyway, he LOVED it and so does my other son who is now 4. Maybe you could buy a picnic basket or other storage box and fill it with some fake food/dishes along with paper items and the like to make it like a kitchen set without the pricey plastic structure.
  9. ahh, it's a she! :) I went out on ebay and you really can get some great deals on Game Boy and Game Boy advance and some auctions come with lots of games, accessories....not sure though what your requirements are for whether or not you can get used items.. This all makes me get nervous thinking about the years not so far away when I won't be able to get great deals on $10 colorful plastic toys, lol! So nice of you to do all this! NO MORE smokey ponies for you this year!
  10. Hi Katiesmommy! I just did some searching around on Amazon, and I'm no expert, but what about this: http://www.amazon.com/Sega-Game-Gear-Color-Portable-System/dp/B000GSQ6QS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1227584464&sr=1-2 From the reviews it almost looks like it was a "dark horse" or a system that was very good but got buried by the competition.... OR you could just go the route of buying him one or two of those inexpensive handheld games that you see so frequently around this time of year....at least they don't require any game cartridges...
  11. you really don't need anything else at all, it's all marketing! If you plan to do it on a wood floor, just grab an old towel, cushioned mat or yoga mat to use for the laying down parts (just a few yoga and strength training exercises have you lie down) and you'll be all set. You don't even need shoes, as they recommend you do Wii Fit barefoot. If you are going to set up the balance board on a rug, as I do, you need nothing extra at all! The one running exercise is for two players so you'd need an extra controller but most people will probably have an extra anyway for all Wii games...
  12. Do some google price checking on the following brands. We have some of all of these and the wooden track pieces are all compatible. I have always figured we'd get more "generic" track pieces and save our money to buy the actual Thomas engines which the kids love so much. The Thomas brand ones (and Brio too) are excellent, but for most purposes, the generic ones are just fine... KidKraft, Little Tree (Target), Maxim, Melissa and Doug, Brio btw, DS6 just got the set you linked to (the Imaginarium Spiral train set) for his birthday and it is VERY hard to assemble. Pretty neat but definitely requires an adult or older child and will not stay together unless you buy track clips elsewhere. If you are looking to get a starter set for a younger child, I would definitely check out some of the giant sets made by Maxim or KidKraft. hth!
  13. this is also $19.99 right now on etoys. Here is what it shows for me for shipping: Merchandise Subtotal: $19.99 Estimated Shipping: $7.39 Estimated Subtotal: $27.38
  14. I bought it already for DS6 but he hasn't received it yet. I am sure he will love it and I definitely don't think 7 or even 8 or 9 is too old. It is HUGE and really looks so much like a real dog. Very soft fur. Several places this week have had him listed at $129, down from $170 a few months ago. here's one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10086428
  15. we had no problems at all! I think the problems were with Windows Vista but we don't have that. I think their website explains an alternate way if you have problems with Vista.... you just download the pics and then the toy itself has two modes - one where you flip from picture to picture on your own and one where it plays a "slideshow..."
  16. great find! They had these on clearance after Christmas last year at Target and I got one for each kid. It was great because on pet day at school they could bring in pictures of their "grand-pets" to share with their friends since we don't have any real pets of our own. fun for bedtime lovies too...
  17. free shipping code until 11/24 (card holders): MVC8337
  18. I checked www.wiialerts.com and they are saying the Wii console has been in stock at amazon for 6 days. I'm surprised! It may have gone out of stock briefly before that though and been in stock prior to that. Keep an eye on the above mentioned site for GHWT too if you are interested...
  19. I always got loads of them cheap on ebay, as well as the ovu predictors and though they may have just been tiny strips, they all worked great! :) ...and now back to our regularly scheduled programming: pig flashlights! thanks OP! :)
  20. did not realize that - didn't know I needed one until last night. sorry!
  21. http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0009VXBAQ/wiialerts-20?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  22. thank you! Recently my kids have been very into bath paints and are using them up fast. :)
  23. great find!!! I ordered 4 as well and the total was the same. The ones with the toy are great - you'd pay $16 just for the Thomas engine alone. :) thanks!
  24. Just found out about this! The $10 off of $30 code still works too but for orders where you only need one small thing, or for larger items where the shipping is pricey, the free shipping is the better deal: Free Shipping on orders from AmericanGirl.com Code: giftship expires 11/25/08
