  1. May I just quickly post OT here that I LOVE Montana and want to go back SO badly!!! I only was there for a week as a teenager but fell in love with your "big sky;" it is such a beautiful change from this mid-atlantic landscape!!
  2. This board is so interesting to me for more than just deals. I really enjoy reading about everyone else's experiences. I think if the Target upper management sees it they ought to use it for national training information! I have to say I am pleased to report that in 8 years of frequent shopping there, our Target never ever gives me a hard time about anything. They scan every coupon I have and go out of their way to get it all right, even when some of them don't come up right away. If an item doesn't come up (like yesterday with a non-clearance box of toothpaste!) they will often just scan a random $.98 item bar code they keep at the register instead to give you a good price, or else ask you what you recall the price to be and enter that. If anything, they all seem to be eager to HELP you find deals, not stop you from getting them. The managers are all always in a happy chatty mood as they zip around the store checking on things. And I in turn give them just about all my business for nearly everything! I honestly have never seen a disgruntled customer there in all these years. Our Wallyworld on the other hand, well don't even get me started! :)
  3. sorry! bummer - I was hoping maybe you did the same thing I did. I was wondering if it would even work with a combo TV/DVD player...I wonder if maybe it does not because it gets confused as to where to send the signal - TV or torpedo unit? not sure... Colleen (going to sign my actual name for once because I fear my username may get misinterpreted or something. yes, I'm paranoid! :) My son's preschool friend's Mom thought cokemeyer was some sort of drug reference, (yikes!) but really it is just a weird combo of my names. And I don't even like Coca cola, lol. ) :)
  4. Hi again, North! Did you by any chance hook it up to the A/V "IN" buttons? I am not very tech-savvy and had the exact same issue as you describe when I tried it today. Then my hubby came home and politelty pointed out to me that unlike most plug-n play toys, this one would need to be plugged into the A/V "OUT" holes which are only in the back of our DVD player, not the front. Once I did that the projector came on right away and I must say we all enjoyed a very fun hour watching a Max and Ruby DVD on our wall. I thought the picture was great - I'm not super picky, but really couldn't find anything to complain about. If you see these, I say get one! :)
  5. we can't have any nut products in the house due to my son's allergy, so if anyone wants my $20 GC, please let me know... It does start with the letter Z and can be used through the end of 2008...
  6. thanks a lot for the warning! Esp since I think it is a return I want to try it out before I give it to hubby and kids and get them all excited about it...
  7. sounds super! I know that this one will not have super clarity but heck for $40, it is better than nothing which is all we'd have otherwise, lol. :) It will be great for when we have slide shows of family pictures for anniversaries, etc - last time my Mom paid a lot to rent one. I am surprised some of you saw several in the store because the target.com listing said it was internet-only. But then again, that same online listing for the Torpedo also included reviews for the Pleo dinosaur so obviously some things are a bit screwed up there. :)
  8. shoot - no I am sorry - I was in such a rush to get the things I actually needed before the store closed that I didn't take note of it. But I know the clearance price on it was $69.xx and the pink one was $84.xx?? I am pretty sure both included Graco Snugride carseats so start with Graco... I'll try to look it up myself and if I find anything I'll repost. My store had a few of each... ok - just looked online and yes the Fortune pattern resembles closest to what I remember..but the price of $69.99 doesn't match 50% off its regular price, so now I am wondering if maybe what I saw was only sold in store? I am sure the red tag said $69.9x but I did not scan it. I pointed both sets out to a lady I had been chatting with earlier and she was grateful because she needed to tell a friend who was expecting...
  9. wow - ten cents for sunblock?!! that cannot be beat!!! :)
  10. got my 2 pairs of $10 boots today and they are very stylish and comfortable. Just in time for the next big storm headed our way. :) thanks again OP!
  11. It was a very good night for me! Not only did I find an entire cart full of clearance stuff (that required me to make 2 trips through the cash register just barely getting out of there before closing time!) but I also was shopping for basics with my 10% card, so just made finding the deals even better. In addition to the Torpedo projector mentioned above, here are my finds. I am sure most of the toys were returns. If anyone wants a DCPI, please just ask: Berry colored 3 piece luggage set (largest piece is a wheeled pilot case) $4.74 2 Clok Cafe alarm clocks (kind of fancy) 75% off for $6.24 each Easy Link system $6.18 and extra set of keys $1.48 Fisher-Price Aquarium pack and play for dolls $4.98 Kool Toys Bilingual laptop $3.75 American Idol Talent challenge DVD game with microphone 75% off -$12.48 Little Einsteins Make Music toy $6.24 Flannel Spiderman twin sheet set $4.98 boys winter jackets $7.48 and $13.98 (75% off) tons and tons of other boys and little boys and girls clothes - 75% off - you just have to look carefully for the 75% off racks! saw but passed on: those fantastic stroller/carseat combos in both pink and boy plaid + more of the Spiderman riding toys for 75% off - $4.xx! they were just sitting high on a shelf with no one noticing them! :) I am in Ellicott City, MD.
  12. I am most excited tonight to report my favorite find. I realize it is a "toy" but it certainly doesn't look like one and the reviews on it from ordinary consumers are very good: the Torpedo Entertainment Projector - reg $159 for $39.98. It hooks up to a DVD player, VCR, computer, just about anything. Maybe was a return - was on an endcap in toys but is not packaged at all like a toy. I was doing the happy dance!
  13. from their website: "Friday's sale of the day will last all weekend." So this is still good.
  14. I dragged all 3 kids out to Target today in the snow, expecting just to pick up some pharmacy items and lo and behold walked out with more toys. :) Thanks to you all, I knew to re-check the bare clearance toy aisle for returns and there they were. :) I got a Fisher Price Classics boxed pull along dog toy for $6.xx, 75% off and one of those ride on Spiderman scoot toys for $4.xx, 75% off. I also found Eddie Bauer boxed items I'm using for Easter basket items for the men in the family - UV index detectors for $4.xx, 75% off...
  15. also check out the entire clearance section - it is larger than normal today. 16. my mother loves hers - extremely comfortable and well-made. She has WAY too much fun being a Red Hat lady!
  17. thank you - I am so undecided! I figured it would be gone today and that would make up my mind for me, but it is still there! :)
  18. Does anyone here have any experience with schnoop.com? I really want to get their deal of the day but I'm nervous since I can't find any reviews on them - tia!
  19. I got one too and yes, the $3.24 was 75% off. My store had a bunch of them but only one that didn't have some of the accessories missing. I felt so excited to find that since I found an Our Generation doll set last week at 50% off... :)
  20. thanks a lot for adding that free ship offer - didn't know about that! Colleen
  21. Hi Katiesmommy! I agree!! I have an entire "gift basement" which I just spent 2 hours rearranging in the vain attempt to fit all my toy purchases in there! :) If I recall you live in PA, correct? You may be my closest GDer on this thread geographically, except maybe a gal or two in VA..? I am in Ellicott City, MD which is between D.C. and Baltimore but closer to Baltimore. Things around here have gotten SO expensive it is ridiculous. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Baltimoron though so I'll probably never move anywhere else. :) We didn't get Targets here at all until about 1995 or so, so most of them are all newer looking and very nice. I guess I get something at least for living in like one of the most expensive states in the nation (groan).
  22. wow $10?? I guess I need to move - it is not uncommon for a child to bring a birthday gift that costs $30 or more around here. I wish they didn't spend so much though - my son has so many friends and thus TOO many big toys!
  23. My mother actually spotted this deal - great if you are a Red Hatter or know one...or don't mind the style regardless. She says these shoes are nice quality and really comfortable. Grasshoppers.com is offering any 3 Red Hat style shoes (loafers, tennis shoes, etc) for $19.99 + shipping (but free ship if over $75). Regular prices of the shoes range from $29.99 -$34.99 each. Just add 3 to your cart and price will automatically become a total of $19.99. http://www.grasshoppers.com/jump.jsp?itemType=CATEGORY&itemID=29 http://www.grasshoppers.com/images/us/local/products/thumb/EH13659.JPG http://www.grasshoppers.com/images/us/local/products/thumb/EH13653.JPG http://www.grasshoppers.com/images/us/local/products/thumb/EF13652.JPG http://www.grasshoppers.com/images/us/local/products/thumb/EF13647.JPG offer good until 1/31/08
