The Targets in my area must have the slowest mark downs! The FP DVD players are still only 30% off at 4 of the Targets near me. Boooo!

I live in N. CA and called a local store and asked if any nearby stores had them. I guess none of the stores stocked the plasma cars, which is probably why I've never seen one before. Bummer. The thing looks super cool!

If I call my store in the morning and ask Guest Services to check the price on a DPCI #, will it reflect the discounted price if they don't plan to actually "scan/mark it down" until the afternoon?

I found a good amount of stuff that didn't even have clearance stickers on them that I knew were on clearance based on the info from this forum. I scanned them to check and sure enough they were 75% off! The playdoh 50-pack was even in the regular Playdoh section with no red sticker.

Yes, I agree that it's a pain in the $%^&*, but so is taking out my receipt, typing in all the DPCI numbers, and typing the description of things I saw/bought on clearance. I do it anyway, just so it helps other people because I know many people have helped me get good deals because they've come back to post them on this board. Thanks to those that went back to edit your post and add the ### format. That's very helpful! :)

I guess people aren't using the "###" format so the clearance items will appear on the list on the first page. That's too bad because that list is pretty helpful and saves time so you don't have to read through all the messages to find out what good deals people found.

The Sit and Stand LX stroller's DPCI is 030.09.1730. I called 4 different Targets on Monday to see if they were marked down to 50% off and most weren't. I found one store that did mark it down and rushed down there to buy it. Most of my Targets have at least 4 or more of them. They are all scattered in different parts of the stroller area, so just keep your eyes open.

I call the main number and ask for Guest Services. Then I give them a DPCI number and ask them what the price is. This usually tells me if the stuff has been marked down since the last time I called. I usually choose things that aren't big ticket. Today I called on of my stores with the Playdoh DPCI and found out it has gone 75% off, when yesterday it was still on 30%. I have to get down to that Target ASAP!! :)

You get the price you paid for the item on clearance (regardless of the current price) as long as you have proof of purchase - a receipt, a gift receipt, credit card, unless the item is a seasonal item (depending on the state you live in). It doesn't matter if you buy something at 30% off, then buy the same item at 50% off, and then return the item you bought at 30%. You're not doing anything illegal. Maybe you bought it at 30% off, decided you actually don't want it anymore, and before your 90 return policy is up, the item got reduced to 50% off. The cashier isn't able to tell by your return transaction whether or not you bought the same item when it went 50% off.

The Baby Trend Sit N Stand Stroller (Lx and Deluxe ones) went 50% off at one of my Targets today!! :) I called four Targets to check on the price and all were still at 30% off. The last one I called had it marked down to 50% off. They said the system showed they had zero in stock. I was there the other day so I asked the girl if she could check the floor just to make sure they didn't have any. She got back on the phone and said they had 2. When I went to pick one up, there were at least 4 on the floor!! Hmm...there's only an ASIN number, but no DPCI number. I called my local Target and they have no idea if they have it or not because they said they are "resetting" the toy dept for next week. If anyone has a DPCI for the Elmo Farm Playset, please let me know. Thanks so much!!

You should have no problems returning it and getting your $10 back, as long as you have your receipt or the credit card you bought it with. I've purchased clearance items at 50% off, bought another other one at 75% off and returned the one that was 50% off, with no problems. You still have a 90 day window for returns for clearance items. The only thing their regular return policy doesn't cover is for obvious seasonal items, like stuff for Christmas, Valentines Day, etc (I guess the "seasonal items return policy" varies from state-to-state though).

The Cabbage Patch Dolls were 75% off in all my stores (N. CA) before Christmas. I picked up a few for $12 to donate to the Giving Tree. I'm surprised they weren't marked down already at your store. The train table is the Circo brand one - it's 30% off right now (around $56 or so). It looks exactly like the one that was on clearance during the last big toy clearance. I picked the old model up for $20. I think the regular price on the table is $80. The old brand was called "Little Tree" (or something like that), but it looks just like the Circo one, just different packaging.
