  1. Yes, it will be much less this year. Not due to anything other than, what everyone has asked for is much less than last year.
  2. Brad's rapping is great but we have so many gifts...
  3. recipe for "Everything but the Kitchen Sink" cookies: 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans) 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries Optional: 1/2 cup of any other mix-ins like M&M's, pretzels, etc. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mix to the wet ingredients. Fold in all your mix-ins: chocolate chips, nuts, oats, coconut, raisins, and any other optional ingredients. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Does Sam's do like Costco where you can buy giftcards and shop without a membership? Ha! This was my 1000th post! Had I have noticed it I would have made it much more dramatic!
  5. Last year we didn't even put up a tree, well not true...see pic below (I decorated an air freshener) LOL. But its alot different with no kids in the house. Hubby and I buy what we want so there isn't much we can get each other. We do put a moritorium on either of us buying anything till after the holidays and we have to put it on our wish list but thats pretty bare. You just don't want "things" as you get older...IMO. We get stuff for the grandkids but they are in different states so its not as much fun. Just a bit sad I guess.
  6. Hubby will be out of town for Thanksgiving so its just me and the puppers. I'll probably just fix a normal meal...maybe a small turkey breast and some stuffing but nothing like normal.
  7. I actually see my UPS driver as nearly a friend. I know his name, where about he lives, his wife's name and kids ages. We chat about all sorts of stuff when he stops by. And because of how long my driveway is, USPS won't deliver packages to the house and they leave them at my gate. If he sees them he stops and grabs them for me. I have baked him cookies and he gets a nice tip every year.
  8. You can get costco gift cards and use those without having a membership...not sure how that works for Black Friday sales though I'm excited to see a few items that are on my familys wishlist here! I think i might even qualify for the $50 gift card.
