Hi all...I am Colleen...resident peanuts gang fan! I have done BF for years so many that now I don't bother to count them...lol This year however I don't know if I am going out... I may just go because it is tradition...lol

I have gotten tons of time with my family that would have been wasted sleeping...lol BF is a tradition in my family we camp out make friends...just have fun. One of my best friends I meet in line at BB on BF.

When we evaluate products for clients we often are in need of participants who have different jobs, different computing skills (including none) and who would like to have a say BEFORE products are released! Want to participate? Web users are needed for usability tests, focus groups, and user surveys. Simply fill out our enrollment form and we will contact you. Why should I participate? First of all, it helps organizations develop more usable products of the sort that you will likely be using at work or at home. For years, we've been asking developers to consider the users. Now they are and they need users to consider. Secondly, you get to make a difference. Product developers will use your information (don't worry - it will be anonymous!) to help in redesigning the user interface. Last, you will be paid for your time. We'll tell you how much when we contact you about a particular study. What is involved in being a participant? Often, we conduct studies at our usability lab in Silver Spring, Maryland, although sometimes we conduct remote national studies with participants who are at their home or office. Normally, we need participants for one session lasting from 1 to 3 hours. We'll tell you the hours that will be required when we call about the possibility of you being a participant. Every evaluation is different but the usual evaluation would ask you to do some tasks with a particular software product. We'd video tape the computer screen and if you are in our office, we capture your face on video also (you'll be asked to sign a video consent form). We treat video data as confidential information. We use this as data along with noting the times users take to do tasks and the difficulties they have. Frequently we'll either interview you or have you fill out a questionnaire after the session for your opinions on how easy the product was to use. When do you do these evaluations? We'll ask you when you fill out a form to indicate the best times for you to do this. We work evenings, early mornings and weekends to try to accommodate our participants (and to get the job done). How soon will I be asked to participate? Sorry, we really don't know that. It just depends on the work that clients bring to us. When we find a particular evaluation that fits your demographic information, we'll most likely give you a call and see if we can arrange a session. How do I sign up? Simply fill out our electronic demographic form and submit it to us and we'll enter the information into our participant data base. Or if you'd rather, you can call us (301-431-0500) to request a form mailed or faxed or e-mailed to you. Any thing else I can do? This thread is for survey general questions & answers only. There are individual threads for the companies below, please search the forum for these threads and then post your question in there. This thread is to offer advice, honest tips & to ask questions when they come up. Where do I start? Well you start by reading what others have written on any specific survey site decide what sites are the best fit for you. I do recommend that you sign up with as many legitimate sites as possible; it takes a while for you to start to get surveys. Some sites you will only hear from occasionally, others on a daily or weekly basis. I would highly suggest that you get a form filler (google auto fill or RoboForm) it saves you a lot of typing. The most important thing that you should do is to be honest when filling out your demographic information. Be honest when you answer survey questions. The survey companies talk to each other and you can get black listed for not being honest. They also have people that watch message board and will report back to the companies who is cheating, the bottom line is that you will be caught. Then you will lose that extra money and your chance at making a difference on what products will go on the market. Answer as many survey invitations as possible this keeps you on their lists. Even if you know you will not qualify answer them, it only take a minute or two and can lead to more invitations. Fill out all of the demographic questions. This helps the company to know what surveys to send you. The more you have filled out the better your chance are at getting surveys. Don’t plan on retirement with your survey money. Yes they do bring some extra cash but you will not be able to live on this alone. Most important never ever pay to get a list of survey sites, to take a survey or to take part in any projects. How to search craigslist for surveys or research projects: If we aren't posting projects from your area, this is how you can do it yourself. 1)Go to: http://craigslist.org 2)Find your city &/or state 3)Scroll down until you see ETC (under jobs) 4)Click ETC and that is where you will find them. 5)Then come back to GottaDeal and post what you have found here. Be very descriptive in the title what is the study about? Where is it (online, nationwide, phone, etc)? How much does it pay? For an example of a good thread check out one of mine DramaQueenLucy. If you want to help us out here at GD. Come back, Search to see if it has already been posted. If not copy and paste it. Rewrite the title of the post. Be as descriptive as possible and include as much information as possible. If the study takes place only in a certain area add that to the title. If it's Nationwide, add that. If it's a telephone or online interview, add that. We are looking for a laptop about $500.00 that has duel core, at least 120GB hard drive, Home Premium is preferred, but Home Basic is acceptable, 2GB memory is preferred, 1GB is acceptable, a built in card reader would be nice and webcam a nice little extra. We are looking for a friend who recently lost her computer due to the flood waters. TIA
