  1. Can you do that - use the 15% off coupon from the survey along with the $10 or $15 off coupon this weekend? If so, I'll definitely wait! :)
  2. I wonder if the Worthington/East 5th brand clothing will still be 30% off this weekend for the coupon promotion? I was going to go to JCPenney tonight to get an East 5th one-button jacket in black (reg. price $60, on sale for $39.99). If I wait for the weekend, it may not be on sale any longer. What to do, what to do?
  3. Oh well...I guess all good things must end. :-( I will still shop the online outlet store, though. That's like a never-ending clearance sale!
  4. Our Macy's used to be The Jones Store. I miss it. :-( I used to get the most awesome end-of season deals there. I've never seen anything like those deals at Macy's...and I really don't even like the clothes as well.
  5. No proof of income needed. We have done this a number of times. The big downside for us is that frequently some of the items pile up unused (e.g., the frozen chicken thighs). Ideally, the way to make the most of the program would be to get several families together, place orders and then "divvy" up their boxes according to what items each needs and would use the most.
  6. Went back to Penney's today and got credit on the iron. They looked at the ad I showed them and finally agreed it should have been priced $19.99. I had to push the issue, but hey, for $20, I'll push! Yes, women's work clothes are on sale. It depends upon what you need, but you can get slacks, skirts, jackets, blouses and sweaters at significant savings. Particularly if you wear size small or medium, clearance inventories of such items are high here! I saw jackets for $17.99 and the other items for even less. Sale items, while not quite as cheap, still aren't bad. I got an East 5th skirt for $24.99 and the matching jacket for $39.99 - but that was before taking off my 15% discount for using my JCPenney card last weekend. All tolled, I basically got a suit for $55.25 plus tax. Not bad, IMO. :)
  7. I went to JCPenney today and was amazed at the amount of stuff on clearance in the women's dept. (Of course, it helped if you were a size small - which I'm not!) I got two skirts, two jackets, a cardigan, two pairs of "popo" socks, and a Sunbeam iron (for which I now realize I was overcharged $5.00) for $166.99. My JCPenney card discount was only good on the skirts, one jacket and the cardigan (the non-clearance items). I am going to complain to the store tomorrow. The iron I bought was marked $34.99. It wasn't the one listed in the ad as originally $39.99, on sale for $19.99, and not subject to the 15% JCPenney card discount. I was charged $39.99, and didn't get a discount for using my JCPenney card!
  8. We recently bought the Cooks brand hard anodized aluminum set from JCPenney. So far we love it. We also have a couple of pieces of Calphalon and love those as well. Yes - you have to hand wash them, but it is well worth it to have really good, high-performing cookware. :)
  9. I had put some stuff in my shopping bag - 5 shower gels, a spray and 3 antibacterial handsoaps - yesterday. Today, the only price that has changed is on the shower gels. They are now $5 each instead of $3 each. I wonder if they are the same price in the store?
  10. Check out the BBB website: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/ClearanceHome.asp?order_num=-1& Be sure to note the part that says "*EXCLUDES ALL "GREAT SAVINGS EVERY DAY" MERCHANDISE," however.... There are also some great deals online, particularly on seasonal merchandise. :)
  11. There is a 20% off coupon in today's Kansas City Star. It is good from the 15th through the 18th. :) Check your paper - there may be one in there, too. (It was printed not only in the newspaper itself, but also in a glossy ad insert.)
  12. They did price-match our TV. No questions asked, no hassles whatsoever. :)
  13. Are you referring to the microplush throws? That is the item that I specifically went to Kohl's for on BF...the first time I have EVER braved the stores on BF. I couldn't go until after 11:00 because my husband works nights and I was at home with our two small children. I had to wait for him to get home to watch the kids (and he did some shopping himself right after work). I walked right in to Kohl's and found TONS of those wonderful blankets, and also many of the down throws still available for $19.99. I was thrilled. And RealLivePrinces, I thought of you many times during that shopping experience. Thank you for putting a fresh, human face on the retail associate, and reminding me to to pause during the craziness to lend a smile and a hand. :)
  14. Thank you. This is an awesome site! I wish I'd found it a long time ago.... I wouldn't even suggest it to my husband, but he works nights and he has been sick lately. I know he isn't going to want to fight the crowds Friday. If there's even a small chance, it's worth trying. And he's going to be in that area today anyway. :)
