  1. Thank you everyone.....I have am looking at non pre-lit trees only because I love the "big" bulb lights...with a layer of white underneath. They seem very costly but I suppouse if you figure the $70 tree each.....hmmmmm.....need to keep looking!
  2. Because of family allergies we are making the jump to artificial. We always get a large full fraser or balsam fir tree (9 footer).....and I don't want to down size. Does anyone have a recommendations? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)
  3. That is the best idea I have ever heard......and definately include the picture! That is very thoughtful and special. Your son is going to make some woman very happy one day ****forgot the add the quote - honey & pic idea!!!
  4. The outside lights go up right after I take down the Halloween decs because after that it gets really cold - I don't turn them on til Thanksgiving night though. Inside decorations go out right after I am done shopping on Black Friday :) The tree goes up the following week.....any earlier and the needles are all dropping before Christmas LOL. We also watch a Christmas Story on Christmas eve after the boys go to bed and we do the Santa thing. I nice bottle of wine and the fire going....of course my little darlings are 13, 16 & 17 this year but off to bed they will go by 11.....after all those who don't believe, don't receive

  6. And the fun has begun.......the Sony BDP-S370 Blu-ray Disc Player that is on sale at Best Buy and Target for $99 on BF is already $99 on Amazon! One less thing for me to shove in my cart as I race around Target:D
  7. Awesome! Order 3 pairs for my boys for $62! Even on Black Friday on sale it would have been $105.....great find. Thanks!
  8. When my son was that age we made a small indoor sand box. It was waist high and he would stand at it and play for hours. We also had a small water table as well. Another gift he loved was a wooden doll house. He would have the "people" live on the top floor and then he would park all his cars on the bottom floor. All these toys helped him use hid imagination, something that kids with autism somnetimes struggle with -He is 15 now and he has an amazing imagination!
  9. The Elf started visiting our house when my oldest was two - I wish I had thought of the tricks! The Elf starts to visit our house once the tree goes up, somewhere around the 7th of December (real tree, can't go up much before that LOL) - The boys each have a little stocking on the tree and if they were good the Elf would leave them a little treat in their stocking while they were at school, during nap etc. My sons are now 12, 15, and 16 and I imagine they will still be checking those little stockings for their Elf treat everyday when they get home from school! I guess they best be good
  10. My girlfriend and I have been going for about 17 yrs......it was always about the "hot" toys. We would get amazing deals at Caldors and stand in line forever. We go now for tradition and thankfully the lines are not as bad as they used to be! Looking forward to another Black Friday!

    BB credit card

Funny this topic should come up. I was 6 days late on a minimum balance of $18, first time ever and I have the card for 18 months. Big chunk of the balance was on a 0% finance, balance being about $500. When I was going through my checking acct I realized I hadn't paid the BB card and jumped right on it. However when checking my statement I notice they had not only charged me the late charge, but bumped my interest to 30%! I was not at all loud, rude or demanding (probably because I was stunned) and asked them about it. They informed because I was late they change the interest rate. I had no problem paying the late charge...after all I was late. They were nice enough to offer to reinstate a 14.99 interest after 6 months......explained to them that there was no way I was paying a 30% rate for one day never mind 6 months. Shopping at Best Buy is always a chore as the service in the store is nonexistent. I went up to purchase a new computer...cost was going to run me about $1400......I could not get anyone to wait on us. After 20 minutes I went home and ordered from Dell online. The % back deal was the only lifeline Best Buy had left........but now they are done. They do not sell anything I cannot get anywhere else for the same price....(except maybe on Black Friday, LOL). The way I look at it is, it's there lost
  21. Yipee! I got 4 DVD players, one for each of my boys and one for my nephew! With one sharpie and the $10 off it cost me $51 delivered to the door. Gotta love it. Thanks.
  22. I was just going over my list... 3 sons mom dad grammy papa sister nephew aunt 1 aunt 2 aunt 3 sister in law & boyfriend nephew & fiancee 4 sets of aunt & uncle 23 children gifts 7 teachers paperboy mailperson few friends couple of work gifts Everyone in red is done. Hubby and I just do stocking stuffers. The 23 children's gifts are as bad as it sounds. These are all my cousin's kids and I have in the past made ornaments, bought Christmas books and this year I got them all one of those big really nice holiday cookie cutters when they were on clearance last year. I will mail them out a few weeks before Christmas with an easy to make cookie recipe. I just love the holiday season
