  1. do you have to subscribe to anything with these gps units or do they connect by themselves free of charge? I have no need for one really but for $129
  2. Just bought a leapster l -max for my daughter, now im looking for games and i know the regular leapster games are compatilble with the L-max, but do the L-Max games have any added features over the regular leapster games?
  3. HOT deal on the L-MAX mine came out to $62.32 shipped with the code
  4. also just to add even though its a ipod thread the best deal right now for an mp3 player hands down is the 1st gen zunes, there are about $80-$100 for a 30gig and do everything the ipod does. Plus the new firmware update makes it pretty much a zune 2 i the zune 1 shell.
  5. although going to the store and looking at what you want is highly recommended, basing it on in store viewing alone is really a horrible idea. 99.999% of the tv's that are on display at stores are not calibrated at all and are all running there contrast at 100% which gives you an extremely bright picture and makes them stand out more, unless you go to each tv and adjust the contrast to where it "should be at" (usually in the 35-55 range) for optimal picture quality then viewing them in tore and deciding is kinda pointless. A lot of people run there contrast high because thats what most tv's come out of the box set at, this gives you very very bright colors but TONS of noise which defeats the reason you purchased a HD tv in the first place, I did the same for a couple of years until i started reading about it at avsforum.com , It takes a week or so to get used to but dropping your contrast down in the 40 range will make it seem dark, but you are getting more of a true presentation of the the show/film was made to look and also a much much clearer picture. And if Best Buy tries to charge you $300 for calibration in home, ask them what they use and what there certificates to do it are... ISF calibrators are the true tv calibrators and they go to school for this stuff, they come to your house with equipment thats worth 10k-20k to calibrate your tv.
  6. The apple website for refurbs is the best bet probably, last year there were some killer deals all the way up to christmas, you just gotta keep checking everyday at the refurb section to see whats there
  7. amazon had them like 2 months ago for $99.00 for a few days($200 or so usually) im sure they will do it again this time around since they are advertising a big kitchen sale for BF
  8. your heater may not be big enough for your house, have you had any sqf added? all your vents open? Have you checked your filter to make sure its not completely clogged? At 76 degrees your house should be fine even with a window open, Theres no way your house can lose heat that quickly, so its something with the heating system itself. Also with your thermostat at 76 degrees your going to have $300-$500 bills monthly
  9. are there any coupon deals? Im looking at spending about $250 in tiffany lamps at either the depot or lowes
  10. how often do they need to be replaced?
  11. First I will mention this message board your should visit and join http://www.avsforum.com/ It is by far the biggest and best community out there for Audio Video, it deals with everything home theater and everything pretty much electronic in your house. There are tons of people there to you help you and doing a search will give you any answers you ask. Anyway .. The short explanation of HDMI is that it passes both audio and video through one cable. the difference between 1080i and 1080p can be very much or pretty much unoticeable. 1080i is the old interlaced format that tv's have used for decades(although 1080 is relatively new itself , it just uses old ways) Basically - 480i-720i-1080i , 480i is your standard digital television the higher you go the better the picture hense HDTV, this "i" format uses the old interlaced method though 1080p - stands for progressive, it is the new format but is really only useful on tv's over 50", the larger the TV you get the more you should go with a 1080p TV. If you are going to get a smaller tv then just get 1080i, you will not see any difference on something less than 50". Basically the big difference is that you can sit really close to the tv with 1080p and you will not get that "screen door" effect as you would with 1080i. Also just to note nothing is broadcast at all in 1080p via your cable/satellite/FIOS, The only place to get 1080p will be from a HDDVD/Blueray player, or the xbox 360 HDDVD addon. for more info go that the forum i mentioned above you can get alot more detail about it if you want, i just kind of gave the really quick version.
  12. xbox 360 hands down There warranty coverage is now cream of the crop since the issues that began with the units(mine just died and im one of the original buyers from before they were even released, I never filled out a warranty card or anything, shipped it out to them two weeks ago and ill be getting a refurbed back monday), 99% of the problems are the red light issues, and microsoft is now covering that issue for life free of charge! Playstation 3 is more powerful cpu wise but gpu wise the 360 is more powerful, it evens out but right now the 360 is so far ahead since they had a 2 year head start on them. Xbox live is awesome, it really cant get any better which you cant say about alot of things and it is worth $50 a year(or do it like me and buy 13month subscriptions off ebay for $20-$25 a year :) ) One last note, madden 08 runs choppy on the ps3 i guess in some situations
  13. this is not the normal woot , this is the VIP section, its hard to find thats why this is still going on, notice the the regular woot has a different item.

  15. http://estore.usa.canon.com/productlist.asp?SETID=100 The Canon MP500 refurb is great, I picked up a couple weeks after searching around. This one is considered the best by many out there for all in one printers
  16. thanks the 5 sheets that canon gave me with there printer wasnt quite cutting it :)
  17. I ended up going with the Canon MP500 refurbished at Canon's estore for $99 shipped. Best deal out there right now and one of the best printers out there also
  18. http://www.rondomusic.net/ Rondo is very good for your begining players or even seasoned vets who want to try out a new style of guitar or just a different instrument before paying top doller for the more expensive ones.. I've been playing for about 17yrs now and whenever i want to just try a new type of guitar out I will buy from rondo because they are cheap and the quality is very good for the price.(much better than that of lets say a $200 guitar you will get from your local stores) If you go to a local Guitar Center never pay the price there asking, you can always knock off about 15-25% off everything
  19. Not the fancy ones that hang on the wall or whatever, but like the ones that come in the 3 ring binder with pages after pages of plastic inserts for the cards?.
  20. I have never had a printer in 10yrs of having a PC, I think its time :) WHats the best deal on an all in one right now? Photo printing !
