well on the very cheap end you have something like this (no VCR though): http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B00009WC2J and if you are willing to go up to $299 you can get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0001W01M4 which has everything you want and the great Toshiba brand name. but if you need to stay around $250, there is this Magnavox model: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0000B16FP but the Toshiba would be well worth the extra $50 if you can swing it. these are just from amazon (and it looks like they sell that zenith set you have pictured for $299) so you might find better prices elsewhere. i can't find the toshiba much cheaper elsewhere, especially when you factor in free shipping and no tax in most states. amazon also has this samsung system for $279: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0000AI0NM which should be comparable to the toshiba and a little cheaper. only 1 left in stock as of this post though, so order if you want it. if you want any of these and want me to check for a better price, let me know the model. i'd recommend either the toshiba or samsung.

I think it's a pretty good chair. The $340 list price is obviously a joke. I think they are trying to make it look like one of the more expensive chairs like the Aerons. But I think it is better than the standard $30 "pleather" chairs you mention. Alumnum base and a steel frame which are nice to have. Also has adjustable height on the armrests. As long as you're not too tough on it, it should last a good while.
