  1. very nice price. only 95 cents if you are a new google checkout customer as well.
  2. nice for all those people who picked up cheap zunes in november
  3. The best way to get deals with XM or Sirius if you are an exisitng customer is to just call and threaten to cancel. Both companies are hurting for subs lately and will usually give you a very good deal to stay.
  4. Yep. So the cost of a stamp and an envelope gets you 4 codes. As for buying Pepsi, the 6-pack of 24-oz bottles is the best "bang for you buck" as far as the number of points. You get 6 points (one on each bottle) and are paying about the same as a 12-pack of cans which only gets you 2 points. And to start this off, here is a code for someone:
  5. I'll try to get the referral link back up somewhere to make it easier to find, but in the meantime your link is: http://forums.gottadeal.com/index.php?referrerid=118416 Anyone else can just replace the member # at the end with your number.
  6. At the bottom of the forum listing there is a box with various options and you can specify to only have it show one category at a time.
  7. Site is now up. Rules: http://pepsistuff.amazon.com/gp/pepsistuff/rules.html/ref=ps_hm_rules Contest runs now through the end of the year. There is a NPN aspect where you can send your address and they will send you 4 free codes. No SASE needed. So if you do enough, this could be another one of the McDonalds Monopoly deals where you can get stuff at discounted prices. For example, a DVD is 90 points. Assuming 1 point per code (although they may give you codes with more points - we don't know yet), you'd need to send 23 envelopes. At 41 cents per stamp, thats $9.43 for a DVD. Similarly, around $6 for a CD. Point Values: 20 or 24 oz. bottle: 1 point 1 or 2 liter bottle: 1 point 8-pack or 12-pack of cans: 2 points 24-pack of cans: 4 points 6-pack of 24 oz. bottles: 6 points 32 or 44 oz. fountain cup: 1 point Points Needed: MP3 download: 5 points Unbox TV download: 12 points Music CDs: 60 points DVD Movies: 90 points Electronics: starting at 45 points Apparel & More: starting at 50 points You can also use your points for contest entries. They have a huge number of prizes for that as well.
  8. Promotion web site: http://pepsistuff.pepsiusa.com This new promotion is supposed to be pretty extensive, and rather than have 493 separate threads with people begging for codes, we're going to have this one continuous thread. Here are some guidelines: * If you have codes to give away, feel free to post them in this thread. * Do not beg for codes in this thread or ask people to PM you codes. * Codes should be posted here and the first person to redeem them gets them. * Do not ask people to PM you for codes. Just post them in the thread. * If possible, please let others know if you have used any posted code(s). * Any other threads about this promotion will be deleted immediately. Also keep in mind that this forum is only viewable to members who have a certain number of posts and have been a member for a week or longer. This should stop a lot of people who register here just to either beg for codes or to "steal" the codes that others post. Consider it a perk of being an established member on the site :) You can also use this thread to discuss any other aspects of the promotion.
  9. Starting the new thread a little early and moved some of the recent posts to the new thread. Please keep discussion related to Target clearance finds only. Off-topic posts will be deleted.
  10. We'll probably bring back a chat room later on in the year as the site gets busier with the Black Friday traffic. You likely share an IP address with a member that was recently banned. Find out your IP address and contact me either through the forum or through the contact form on the main GD site and I'll get it straightened out.
  11. I think we've all given this site more attention than they deserve, so I'm going to close the thread for now. Please please please: if anyone ever contacts you about another site similar to the way this was done, please contact myself or one of the sitewide mods immediately so we can take whatever action is needed as soon as possible. Even if you don't think it is that serious, we'd still like to know about it. And if anyone has anything else to let me know about this particular situation, please PM me. Thanks to everyone who helped with this matter. I greatly appreciate it :)
  12. If you send a friend request to someone and they accept, then you are each other's friend, so you don't need to do it twice.
  13. I deleted it and made sure those permissions were turned off for everyone. In the future we might have some use for it, but for now we'll just have it show birthdays.
  14. The calendar has always been there since the forum started back in 2004 We don't use it for anything (it has the birthdays by default, but that's it).
  15. The favorite smilies add-on was not compatible with the new version of the forum software. Once an updated version is released, I'll be sure to install it once again :)
  16. Correct. Accounts have been banned. IP addresses have been banned as well. We are not going to make any more forums closed to the public right now. That wouldn't help as it is easy enough to get around these things if you try hard enough.
  17. Most of the sub-forums they were stealing content from are available to everyone - registered or not - so aside from banning IP addresses (which I've done), there is nothing stopping them from continuing to do so, aside from maybe others calling them on it, and possibly them losing members once they learn what has been going on... The fact is, it's extremely difficult to start a successful deal site these days. There are just too many out there and it's nearly impossible to get enough unique content to bring people to your own site. Most of the bigger deal sites were started nearly a decade ago. GD was started over 4 years ago, and it has taken a lot of work (and luck) to be as successful as we've become, and so we're going to do whatever it takes to make sure others don't come along and use the hard work of everyone here on the site, including members like Miranda who spend hours posting here each week. I have no problem with anyone visiting other deal sites, or even creating your own. But don't steal our members, and don't steal our content. If you can't create a successful site yourself, then you really should find something else to do rather than piggyback on our success and use our hard work for your own benefit.
  18. Thanks for once again bringing this to our attention. Unlike the last time I posted about this, this time it was a long-time member doing this, which is even more pathetic. They have been banned, the site name has been blocked from being posted/PMed, and I am looking into what actions I'll be taken regarding the blatant theft of our content. As someone said, they are pretty much copying and pasting many posts here in an effort to build their site without having to post anything original. We're dealing with it. Oh, and just in case you are curious, this other site is not worth your time. It is poorly designed, and pretty much all the content is stolen from here, so there is no reason to check it out anyway, lol. And I doubt many of you would want to frequent a site run by such pathetic individuals as the ones who are running it
  19. If you are referring to the old member pages, yes, those were not compatible with the new forum software and have been deleted.
  20. In the future we'll probably have a little icon under your avatar (like the eBay one in Marcster's post) to denote that a member has a photo album set up and pictures available for viewing. Also, the max number of photos and max size (both file size and dimensions) of photos increases the longer you've been a member. Similar to having custom avatars and custom user titles - once you hit the 50 post mark and have been a member for 2 weeks, you'll have the max allowed :)
  21. They are part of your user profile, which is only viewable to logged-in members, so non-memebers / search engine bots won't see them. In addition, there is an option to have a specific album only viewable to those members on your friends list for added privacy.
  22. I've added some FAQ threads about some of the new features (photo albums, friends lists, etc...) to the Forum FAQs sub-forum: http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 :)
