My son and I have been stocking up on Lego Winter Village sets all year long and we will begin assembling them 1st of October. Not many big "must have" items anymore so we are anticipating the season more than just a day.4 points

I'm hoping for something that brings back the spirit of BF...4 points

The past few years we have been out of town for Thanksgiving, so I am excited to cook it again. It'll just be three of us so nothing elaborate but homemade!3 points

With so many different sales happening throughout October, November and December it can be a little overwhelming to keep track of everything. We have several ways to stay updated with all the new ads and sales that we post: 1. Sign up for our email newsletter. We'll email you about the latest sales and ads as well as the best deals we're finding throughout Q4. 2. Follow the Sale & Ad Discussion forum. On this page, there will be a light blue "Follow" button (on the top of the page if you're on a tablet/desktop and on the bottom of page if you're on a phone). You can get notified when we post new threads in this forum for each ad, sale or catalog. 3. Follow us on Bluesky, Facebook , Instagram and/or Threads. We'll post updates on these accounts including when we post new ads or learn about upcoming sales. 4. Bookmark our Black Friday news page and check it regularly for the latest updates. This page also will have a list of ads we've posted, upcoming sales and more.3 points

hmm… I just had a thought (a very bed habit) (I know) Could we start a similar channel on the Discord to the Prize Club Thread here on the forums? Something to keep the Discord active year round?2 points

Black Friday is still significant to me! I am so excited to be able to go out and shop this year.2 points

I'm going to start collecting addresses for your prizes. If you're one of the 40 still in the club, send me a message here on the forum with the title 'Prize Club Address' and include your name and full shipping address. I'll chase down whoever I don't hear from in a couple weeks.2 points

Lots of birthdays for my family this month. 3 of my grands, 1 of my kids, and my own. A week from tomorrow, I will be having my hip replaced. When you search for recovery stories, they are all over the place but I intend to be getting up and around by Black Friday! Admittedly, most of my shopping is done online, and I will happily rely on my son to go pick up any packages that get delivered to the post office instead of my front porch . BUT, I still go out on BF bright and early every year. If I have to swallow my pride and be seen using a walker in public, well, that's just what I'll have to do .2 points

I retired in May. As a consequence, I am free to do whatever I want without regard to compelling commitments. Again, as a consequence, I am free to get up late or very early. For the first time in nearly a decade, I anticipate standing in line for some store opening BF. Not so much for the Door Busters as for the nostalgia. Brad, send me a t-shirt and I will post a picture or me in this shirt in line on BF in New Hampshire -- with no consideration for weather or temperature. I am having SO much fun being a teenager again.2 points

I agree with many above ... seems like every year it's the same items on sale and the sale prices get worse each year. We have no need for TV, gaming consoles, laptops etc. I do miss the cheap DVDs and yes I still buy and watch movies on DVD.1 point

As we do every year in early September we've opened the various sub-forums here to unofficially start our coverage of the Black Friday & holiday shopping season. As the day of Black Friday itself remains less significant we'll continue with the "Sale & Ad Discussion" forum having threads not only for Black Friday ads but also for many of the additional sales and catalogs that get posted on the site, whether they take place on Black Friday or not.1 point

About 3 years ago my husband had his second hip replaced about this time of year. He was back to work by early November, and could have gone back sooner. I think he took 7 weeks off. He took 6 weeks off with his first replacement. He was definitely good to go, and in much less pain, with his new hip by Thanksgiving. So hopefully you have an easy and fast recovery!1 point

Cruise ship people watching is a very close second if it doesn't top airports... Did you post the list of 40 remaining members somewhere? I'm pretty sure I stood the test of time this year, but not great at keeping track1 point

I feel like the deals won't be as good. Prices have already been raised so much so any delas won't really be deals. I hope that you all are more right than me though.1 point

Time sure is flying, I didn't realize I hadn't posted for September yet! School started about 2 1/2 weeks ago and just seems so different this year. We found out less than a week before the first day that the person we had issues with last year was moving to a different part of the school. Good, yes, but since we're "only" in the cafeteria, there was no rush to replace her. We're always the last thought when it comes to anything in the school. The new hire just started 3 days ago so we were working with our substitutes for 2+ weeks. She seems to be working out well, we'll see. I was promoted to head cook the beginning of last school year and it was a good year. Now this year, the kitchen manager (the same person as last year), has been giving not only me, but the other girls, attitude. I'm always second guessing myself when it comes to decisions because whatever I tell the girls to do, the manager always tells them to do the opposite. I'm always in tears, both in the walk-in cooler and at home. I've been working in the cafeteria 11 years (substituted for 7 years before that) and have always gotten along with her. My problem is that I can't speak my mind, I'm always afraid I'm going to offend someone or make things worse. If I say anything, then the attitude will really come out. The manager has been there not quite 30 years (thinking about retirement), I'm starting my 12th and then everyone else has been there less than 2-3 years. We just can't get people to stay and a lot of it is the manager, it's been said by many of the previous employees who had quit, because of her control issue. There's so much more I could go into but won't. I didn't mean to even get into it as much as I did. Anyway, Happy September!!!1 point

Here are plain text lists of the items in the ads (at least the ones in our database) dating back to 2003: 2003 - 2004 - 2005 - 2006 - 2007 - 2008 - 2009 - 2010 - 2011 - 2012 - 2013 2014 - 2015 - 2016 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019 - 2020 - 2021 - 2022 - 2023 - 2024 And as always you can also visit the Black Friday Archive to browse over 1,400 historical Black Friday ad scans going back to 2000. Several older ads from 2000-2003 were added since last year. Additional older ads will be added soon. Also you can browse the Black Friday forum archives to relive past discussions, see when ads were leaked in a particular year, etc.1 point

Yep. Same. No chance of order cancellation if we're walking out the door with our items already in hand.1 point

I expect Amazon, Walmart, and others will hold their own 'deal days' events leading up to Black Friday. You'll have to have some sort of membership to participate. The biggest factor impacting prices will be lack of interest. I haven't bought a computer in more than a year and will not be shopping for one. I bought my kids 65" 144 hz 'televisions' to play video games on last year. Before that, my last TV purchase was in 2021. Not looking for televisions this year. My kids do not need/want televisions, computers, or new phones this year. We're full. Just means more sales leading up to BF and a less important BF. Last deal I got between BF and Christmas was that 75" TV I bought in 2021. I ordered Christmas Eve but did not take delivery until after Christmas. As always, TVs and Computers will be steeply discounted. Personally, I'm hoping to get deals on a couple Arcade1Up cabinets. The company seems to be teetering, so maybe some clearance action from Kohls, Target, Walmart, or Amazon? After Christmas, the 'unfit' toys QVC could not sell will end up as 'free after Crazy Deals at Ocean State Job Lot. I can hope, right?1 point

Just went to the old ones being posted. Circuit City was showing. Man I miss some of the old stores. Guess I’m old I prefer to be able to hold what I buy at the point I buy it. I find myself shopping Amazon less and less every year. Didn’t buy a thing this Amazon days sale.1 point

Also for those of you who like the old ads, we have an account on Bluesky that posts random old Black Friday ads several times per day: https://bsky.app/profile/blackfridayarchive.com1 point

Ahhh retirement, something I look forward to but not sure I will ever get to do. We go out still for the nostalgia also. I always have the week off.1 point

Thank you all! My son is home and recovery is - difficult. He has terrible headaches and no sense of taste, He’s frustrated that he can’t go to school or play his beloved hockey. His younger brother just left for a tournament with my husband, so that’s rough. I do believe that he will recover 100% but he is worried about falling behind his sophomore year that just started, and how much muscle mass he will lose before he can put on skates again. I keep telling him that he is here for a reason, and this will all work out. And we have so much to be thankful for. He can walk. He knows who he is and where he is, and he can remember most things except for what happened that night (which is good). We learned that if his head had been turned a different way, or the bike that he was on had been moving, he would probably not be here with us today. We are hoping that his next CT scan will show improvement, and we can start to make plans for his return to normal. Right now it’s just sit and wait, and IDK if you know anything about 15YO boys, but patience is not their virtue lol1 point

I thought I had somehow missed the 100 day countdown post. There wasn't one, so I checked last year and there wasn't one then either. Thinking I've lost my mind, I went searching and I had to go all the way back to 2021 to find a 100 days! post from Brad . I guess I'm just living in the past. I've decided that's okay though, because I like it here. **I realize the 100 day mark doesn't mean much when BF doesn't happen on BF anymore. BUT, that said... 95 days till Black Friday y'all!!1 point

Oh September. IDK if I am happy to see you or not. Saturday night, my oldest son (15) was hit by an e-bike. He has a broken neck, brain bleeding and a serious concussion. Please pray for him. His name is Thomas.0 points
