Nope. It once again has to be one of the E-Value codes shown on the page linked above. But still a nice deal.

I thought considering this is 3 months since the last "real" $750 off that there would be a new one this week, but I guess Dell doesn't need the sales that much this quarter. Look for it to be back in mid-October, unless they suprise us with something sooner.

This is still a hot deal if you're interested in the Dell Inspiron 700m laptop

Here's what I upgraded:

  • 2Yr Ltd Warranty, 2Yr At-Home Service, and 2Yr Technical Support
  • 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability
  • 65 WHr 8-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

$1,526.00 - $750 = $776

I paid $757 for the exact same configuration, so it's only a $19 difference.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, it's still one of the best deals they've had all year.

The "real" $750 off unrestricted coupon came in October and April. It did not happen in January, so maybe they are going going to do it twice a year. For Q4, they probably get enough sales because of the holidays to not need to have it. And they've had a lof of these restricted $750 coupons this quarter which have probably increased sales.

Like RossMAN said, the 700m deal is very hot. When you compare that deal to what has been in the Sunday ads lately, it blows it away (as do most of these configurations).

edmicman,

Quick question for you. In a Dell Inspiron 6000 what's most important to you?

Please rate these in order of importance:

  • 15.4 inch UltraSharp WUXGA LCD Panel [add $175 or $6/month1]
  • 60GB Hard Drive [add $49 or $2/month1]
  • 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability [add $99 or $3/month1]
  • 128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics [add $69 or $2/month1]
  • 9-cell Lithium Ion Battery (80 WHr) [add $99 or $3/month1]
  • 9-cell Lithium Ion Battery Additional Battery (80 WHr) [add $129 or $4/month1]

With this choice you get TWO batteries, the primary 6 cell and this additional 9 cell

Basically I'm looking for a laptop for my girl :-D I've got a 600m myself that is great, but I think the 6000 would probably work best for her. I think out of those options above I'd say either the screen or the hard drive is the most important. I've got a desktop that has a DVD burner if we need it, but we're not at the point where we're burning many dvd's anyway. Really, the most important things for a laptop for me is that it has 512MB of RAM and XP Pro on it. I know I can get both of those elsewhere (heck, I've still got my student copy of XP), but I'm lazy and would rather have it come pre-installed and setup rather than mess with it myself :-P. A decent sized hard drive is important, too, but I don't know if she'd notice much difference between 40 and 60 gigs if there was just the basic installation stuff on there. Maybe I'll play with the configurations some more and see what I can get....thanks!

Also, the links in the OP aren't working for me? "Document contains no data" or something? Maybe its just me....

edmicman,

Just make sure to select the third 6000 which comes with a default 1 year warranty, the others force you to upgrade to 3 years. For the extra $60 I would recommend upgrading to a 2 year at home warranty.

Coupon should be live in less than 3 hours :)

This deal is still available for those who missed it yesterday. I think nearly anyone who wanted a laptop has bought one in the last 6 months so this deal is lasting longer than Dell thought it would.

WoooooooooooooooooT :2woot: mom said she'll help pay 300 for the 700m :) I applaud all the mothers out there :g_clap:

I can't seem to find the type of video card it uses and if I should upgrade the ram from dell or look elsewhere for it. Can't believe I'm finally getting a 700m lol sounds like I'm getting married.

According to the tech specs it's "Intel® Extreme Graphics up to 64 MB shared memory".

It's more than adequate for watching DVD's or light gaming. I do not believe it's upgradeable.

Definitely get the minimal 256MB RAM and buy RAM from Crucial.com or NewEgg.com It's very quick and easy to upgrade the RAM. Two small screws, insert the new RAM, screw it back on and you're done.

I bought 1GB SODIMM from NewEgg.com for $119 for my 700m. Works just great.

When I placed the order it said that it will ship on july 26th.

Order Processing Time 1 days

Build Time 6 days

Longest Option Delay 0 days

Impact to Preliminary Ship Date (up to) 7 days

Preliminary Ship Date: 7/26/2005

I guess it shouldn't be that long since it's not a desktop but I don't want to have high hopes.

RossMAN...You're kidding right? My I6000 that was supposed to be here toward the 8th of July got here on June 27th.

And if it does "over shoot" they HAVE TO contact you and get your okay to delay your order. If not, they get fined by the feds.

Depending on where you are in the country, you will have it generally about 3 days after it leaves the factory. You can keep track of your order online and see where in the process it is. Unless one of your parts delays your expected ship date, plan on it taking about 2 weeks to leave the factory.

No, I have ordered roughly $30,000+ of Dell equipment in the past few years.

80% of the time they usually overshoot the ship date. Then again it depends on the parts they have on hand, and other factors. I'm just sharing my 5+ years of experience in ordering from the Dell web site.

My 700m which I ordered a few months ago ARRIVED a day before the expected ship date.

Type: Lots of processing, little gaming

Model: Inspiron 600m

Pentium® M Processor 745(1.80 GHz/400MHz FSB) 14.1-in XGA w/64MB Video -OR- Pentium® M Processor 725(1.60 GHz/400MHz FSB) 14.1-in XGA w/64MB Video [subtract $100]

Microsoft® Windows® XP Home

2Yr Ltd Warranty, 2Yr At-Home Service, and 2Yr Technical Support

512MB DDR SDRAM 2 Dimms

40GB Hard Drive

24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive -OR- 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability [add $99]

6-Cell Lithium Ion Battery (53Whr)

FREE 64MB Dell USB Memory Key w/ 6-Cell Lithium Ion Spare Battery (53Whr)

Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)

System Price: $1,502 - $750 = $752

If you do not need the extra 200MHz power for the CPU, you can upgrade to a DVD Burner + CD Burner, and downgrade to the 1.60Ghz CPU. I would take the high CPU than a burner, simply because I do a lot of processing, daily tasks, and time is money. If you are not more than the average laptop user, and would "like" to have a DVD burner, downgrade to the 1.60Ghz and upgrade to a DVD burner.

This setup comes with TWO batteries, something VERY good to have, as well as a 2yr support agreement, and lastly 512MB or RAM- meaning you do not need to head over to NewEgg and pickup a 2nd 256MB stick.

A great deal for anyone thinking about buying a laptop within a few months.
