Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009

**Thank you!! Can I just say - you've been very helpfull and I've enjoyed reading all of your posts during Christmas stuff mark-downs and Toy's clearance sale. I wonder sometimes if you don't secretly work for Target, cause you seem to know A LOT about everything. :) Just wanted to say Thanks!!

LOL! I was walking through one of my regular stores today and one of the markdown team shouted out to me in the aisle, "hey, lady! how are you doing today? We need to put you to work since you are here so much!" It is a bit of a joke with my friends, too, asking if I am at my second home...One of them I am always calling to see if they want this or that. She picked up a gift card for me to use to buy stuff for her!

I can comment on one of these - DS4 got Gorilla Mountain for Christmas and everyone loves it, including DS6 and DD1! The red eyes that light up on the gorilla as he spits out bats scare her a bit but she keeps going back for more! :)

My 5 year old son got it for his birthday and he loves it. My 4 year old son plays with it all the time too. I picked up a couple more during the toy clearance for gifts.

So it seems Gorilla Mountain is a hit with everybody!! Thank you for all the replies!

My only concern about this one is, I don't know when I want to give this to DS. I already got him so much stuff (esp. Thomas and McQueen) and it's only his 2nd B-Day that's coming up. Ideally I think this would be a perfect present for his 3-rd B-Day but do I really want to hang on to a toy for over a year?? The reason I love this one though is that it's the only Toy I found that doesn't involve cars or a race track, etc. It's seems like a very unique playset with all of those cute big plastic animals. I also got lucky as I only saw one of these at 75% and the reason I was able to pick it up is because I was the 1st one at that store on that 1st Thursday morning when Toys were discounted to 75%. That's also how I lucked out with lots of Thomas take-along engines.. Who knows if during the next Toys clearances I can be as lucky!!

Maybe an Easter gift or summer gift?

I don't know if this has been posted. I can't keep up with this thread. I try. But wanted to let you all know, I got the Girl Tech Stylin' Studio for $16.24. I believe it is 75% off. My nieces are having a blast with it. I get emails everyday of their new makeovers. I saw something on this before Christmas and they said this is great to get girls interested in technology since you hook it up to your computer, take a picture and then manipulate it. My nieces are 7, 4 and 2 1/2. They are all having fun with it. The oldest two can do it themselves. The youngest one, says "I want that hair". "I want that shirt".

###072-01-0165 Magic Chef Portable Ice Maker $42.49 (75% off - was 169.99)

This is much better than the Emerson one I bought a few months ago on clearance that never worked c orrectly and finally broke last month and I returned it. So happy to find a replacement for it. Also it is larger and better construction on this one. Well worth the 75% off price.

Ugh! I really want this, but I know DH will have a cow if I bring it home. He'll want to know where I am going to put it...

Such a discussion should be done in another thread. This one is only to post Target Clearance finds.

Scrabbler is correct.Brad has asked us several times to keep this forum for finds not thoughts on our finds. It makes it way to hard to read through all these posts to find deals when its nothing but chit chat. There is a seperate forum for discusing our opinions.Everyone looking for deals on here arent happy toy finders like our selves. Thus the reason for keeping this thread JUST FOR FINDS!!!

I got my nephews some for christmas and they both love theirs. they are still working fine. my friends son got one for christmas and loves it. it is still working fine. i actually picked up the $84.xx pack for $21.xx for him for his birthday or christmas. hth :)

Perfect. Thanks for the reply. I will keep the 2 I purchased because of your comment.

I feel if we are going to notify everyone that there is a good price on any item out here on this thread, we should also tell people if it is a good DEAL. Who cares if something is clearanced if it's not even worth the package it comes in? Aren't we all out here to find good DEALS? Not just good prices.

Just my 2 cents.

Not all the comments on product quality are regarding toys. For example the Kurv, electric broom, etc. We have spent more useless space lambasting fellow members for things some people find inappropriate than commenting on product quality. That is why a couple of pages of posts were removed by Brad. But he hasn't weighed in on our recent comments. When they get out of hand, it is one thing, but they haven't been a big deal, and have helped people on the thread.

Anyone know if the Aussie Grills went on down today? They were still 50% yesterday at my closest store.

In other words, just because the Air Hog Helicopters were marked down from $88 to $22, are they worth it? Do the kids enjoy them or do they get played once and either break or get thrown in a toy bin?

Feedback is appreciated! Thanks!!

I bought these helicopters for my son last Christmas, and of course, paid full price. One for my son and one for the hubby. I thought they were very cheapy made and both ended up breaking in less than a month. That being said, since they enjoyed them so much, I bought another set when they were 75% off. So far so good. So my official review is, not worth it at full price, but definitely worth it at 75% off.

I feel like I should offer my two cents on this as well:

The same thing happened to Amazon Dec. Toys clearance thread, where whoever started that thread (I guess prob. a moderator) would wipe out EVERY SINGLE POST that didn't include a DEAL! I found that VERY RUDE because some of those would have been very helpfull to keep.

I seriously considered never reading that post ever again and quite a few times I refrained from posting the deals because it just wasn't worth it to me..

Throughout that whole sale I had no idea whether something was A GOOD DEAL OR NOT because there was literally no discussion on anything what-so-ever.

(And yes..there was a separate thread in the discussion forum..but I know no one read it..cause I didn't get any of my questions answered there...)

I also have to add that I Loved reading that same thread last year and found it very helpfull but had the complete oppositve experience this year.

I really hope the same thing will not happen to this Target thread because I've Loved Reading Everyone's Comments So Far and Found Most of the Information on Here Very Helpfull and Very Relevant!!!

(I understand why Brad removed the FP DVD discussion though..cause that was turning into a heated debate over morals and such and that is clearly against the rules of this website)

I found one Aussie reg $99 for $25.

I also like to know if a product is good or not. Target is not always return friendly, especially with electronics.

As far as morals, it is not always a moral discussion but a warning so some innocent & especially new people to this thread do not get in trouble. If you watched nightline last night you will understand. This is extreme but shows that people are being watched at Target.

Just watched this... I hid something in the store 1X but it didn't pan out for me. Other than that time, I don't do anything wrong.... but it makes me wonder, they go thru ALL this trouble, but we can still get our 69 cent MM. I think after watching this video, I will be paranoid just walking around in Target. :gdparanoid:

Wow, those are some blatant thieves, its interested that in our store there are so many employees about asking if we need help, it wouldn't work here.

Bulk Diapers/Wipes/Cleaners/Body Wash 50% off here. Managed to get two boxes of diapers and a box of wipes. Lots of size 6 diapers left but it will be a while before my lil tyke is in a size 6! YAY! Some things still only 15 and 30 though like the coffee! :(

**Wonder if they'll last till tomorrow. I want to wait for the books/toys to do mark-downs (if any) and then venture out.

BTW: I never noticed much difference btwn some of these larget sizes of diapers. Since DD is two years older than DS, DS was in sizes 4,5 since he was like a year old.. Cause we were always running out of his smaller sizes and then we discovered these larget sizes fit him just fine. Not sure which ones cost less but for us it was more convenient to buy one size of diapers for the both of them..
