Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009

I am buying alot less of the candy, I buy some that I can freeze but I couldn't give it away among all the kids friends so I just buy less. I bought alot of the little oreos in pkgs and other cookies last Easter and they are just not moving, I wonder if giving them to a food bank is in poor taste since they are abit older, though I have eaten them lately and still fresh?????

They won't take them if they are much out of date. At least that is the case here. I bought the Teddy Grahams and had the same problem. The Oreos stopped going for awhile, but DS came back to them recently. But I am stuck with the TGs.

Found the gatorade powder pack boxes on clearance for 1.28. found them on an endcap by the Valentines Day stuff. Thought they had sold out.

Some bath mats were 75 off but I also saw some only marked and ringing up 50. So seems to be a hit or miss. Dollar spot must have went on clearance or people just bought alot of it as two stores I visited today had almost all the shelves empty!

At one of my Targets, they were marking down the remaining clearance toys an additional 50% off of their 75% price. They only had one endcap left of toys though. The SpeedRacer Funkeys Starter Pack is now $2.xx (originally $17.99).

 

They also had a few sporting goods at 90% off. I noticed a Coleman (I think) water bottle sports sack. This knapsack that can hold water bottles for $2.xx originally $20-something.

 

There were no bookshelves to be found at 3 Targets I went to. I could barely even find ANY clearance furniture. Even the HDE merchandise was almost cleared out!

Lots of good scores in the DFW area. GB/Home Design was 75% off everywhere, although not always marked as such. Not all that much left, though. Quite a bit of furniture, although it was flying out of there. IMHO, most of it wasn't even worth it at 75% off, and some of it seemed downright dangerous. Housewares (bed/bath) were mostly 75% off. Baby and toy deals are long gone, except for a straggler misplaced on an end cap here and there.

I hope I can post this here. I've been a faithful Target shopper, love the store well after tonight I am furious! My mom and I stopped in there (we live 30 miles away) to do our shopping. I purchased $149.xx worth of merchandise. When I get home and unpack the bags, I notice that 2 pair of earrings are missing from my bag. I immediately call the store and tell the gentleman that I don't have my earrings (6 bags worth of stuff), what can I do? He tells me that he has to see if they were located, so he puts me on hold, gets back on, 'yes ma'am we have them'. I was relieved. I said that I can get back down there Thursday (my dd has a dr apt in that town). 'well ma'am he said Target policy is that we can hold them till the end of the day tomorrow then go back on the sales floor'..........WTF (didn't say that tho)....'they are mine and I PAID FOR THEM' I said. He responds, 'ma'am I'm sorry but you need to pick them up or they are the property of target'. I was livid. I couldn't believe what he was telling me, they are mine I paid for them, she didn't put them in my bag. He told me that were in a bag and basically I forgot them so it was my fault, not the stores. I told him that he can just return them (but I have the receipt) & he said that he needed a receipt and couldn't take the #s over the phone. He took my name and number and will call me at the end of the day tomorrow with basically the same line of needing to pick them up. I tried to call corporate but of course they are closed.

You need to call the Corporate office and tell them you are 30 miles away. I bet they will have a good answer for you. That is rediculous that it is Targets property!!! GEEEZ

OT, I know. But I'm hoping to quick tap the shoulders of some parents who have the Smart Cycle and are using it. We gave it to our daughter for her b-day and she loves it. However, her 8yo sister wants to try it sooo bad. Has anyone let an older child (older than 6) ride it? She's totally average size, and I don't think she'll break it-- although I don't want her to be too hard on it and that's what I'm afraid of. Any opinions would be appreciated.

This is not true. I don't know what number you called try either 1-800-591-3869 or 1-800-440-0680. You should call the store in the morning and ask for either an LOD or the ESTL,don't settle for someone at guest service. They can hold items that are paid for longer. It is only 24 hour hold on items you want to pick up to buy. Also you can try talking to some in charge of security. Good luck. Target usually is more resonable than this incounter you had.
