Digital camera?

I need a new digital camera but I know nothing about them. What camera should I get? It doesn't need to be anything special. Should I get one on ebay?

The kodak ones have been on sale alot lately. My bf has had one for over a year and it works great if you just want a simple point and shoot thats small and doesn't require too much camera knowledge.

I have a Kodak Z712IS. Easy to use and great pics. This model has been discontinued for the Z812IS and now an even better one.

I say recently they were $50 on close-out at Target.

Our storm in So Cal yesterday left this stuff.

For those looking for a digital camera under $100 this is a good one IMO: With a 2G memory card it shipped (free, UPS) for $93.87.

Here's the Deal: http://www.jr.com/canon/pe/CAN_A470GRAY/ It is available in gray, blue, and orange; red was out of stock (just a slice of color, not the entire camera). I got a 2G memory card for $3.99 too. It can run on 2 AA batteries in a pinch, but I recommend rechargeables.

 

I did a lot of research and I like the Canon's features and internals. I bought one for myself 2yrs ago (A630- most unique feature is the swivel screen which everyone loves) and one for my mom last year- A560 (smaller size, less batteries). This year my son gets one : )

 

I was going to order the Nikon Coolpix elsewhere, but it now has a message that it won't be shipped in time for Christmas (this is also a pretty good camera, not quite as good as a Canon, but all I could find at the time under $100).

UPDATE: It came in two days via regular shipping. This is a nice sized camera- I can't wait to give it to my son! I just checked, it is still on sale, only blue and gray available, and today it has free shipping. I bet if you ordered it today or Saturday you would get it by Christmas (check their website or customer service tho-I'm just saying mine shipped quickly from NY to MI).
