First Lady Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 http://www.amazon.com/gp/prime/signup/ellen.html Sign up for Amazon Prime for only $59 for a year!!!
bettyn100 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Does it say anywhere if this applies to renewals?
rebecca7675 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 This is awesome thank you!! Did I just say awesome??LOL
First Lady Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 I didn't see, not sure if you can try to go through your account and see if it will renew it for the $59 or not.
bettyn100 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I had to sign out of amazon to see it. Unfortunately it does not not apply to current prime subscribers. We still have to pay $79 for the renewal. This only applies to new subscribers who take advantage of the free trial and must sign up through that link.
MidwestMama Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Uggggggg, that is even more tempting. However dh just threatened to call in professional help for me. He gave me the look of DEATH when I mentioned Amazon's new price.

sallnori Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I am new to amazon, but am currently using the free trial of prime. Just wanted to ask if there are always great deals on amazon year round???? Also is there always no tax?
Brad Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 For the 843rd time, DO NOT post about sharing Prime accounts with other members or solicit other members to join you. While it may technically be allowed, it is against the program terms if you are not in the same household.
Crue2001 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I tried to sign up my husband as a new account with the $59 rate, but it said I was or used to be a Prime member (same household basically) and did not qualify for the offer. I figured it would flag me, but I had to try...my Prime is set to renew at $79 on 12/14.
hannahs_momma Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Having Prime is definately worth the money IMO I can quickly buy an item and ship free any amount usually! So jump on this its great especially through out the year this forum has lots of amazon.com deals!

Just wanted to ask if there are always great deals on amazon year round???? Also is there always no tax?I get charged tax on all of my orders. Is it just me? Or maybe because I am in New York?
racerfan Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I get charged tax on all of my orders. Is it just me? Or maybe because I am in New York? Its because you are in NY. That is one of the states that Amazon charges tax in.

abh2007 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 oh wow I wish I had waited, I just signed up a week ago. I emailed them just to see if they would like me have it for $59 if I decide to keep but I doubt it.
firstladyberg Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Okay- I caved to the pressure of it all! Signed up but I must say- I was really wanting to see some better toy deals this year. If I find that it is not worth it, then I will cancel before the renewal date. I'm wondering if I really order enough from Amazon to make it worth it?

Ginny123 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I would believe you have to constantly be shopping to make it worth it...like in your house you are spending like it is Christmas year around. Many people can wait a week on shipping and find something to spend atleast $25 on for free super saver shipping which you do not need PRIME for. So to me, you're basically paying $59/$79 a year just to get the item to your house within two days. Besides NOT ALL ITEMS are Prime....people need to know that.

Besides NOT ALL ITEMS are Prime....people need to know that.I have found this to be true for our family. As much as I'd love to have a Prime membership year round, we just don't buy enough to justify the cost. I can plan my purchases around the $25 and get free shipping that way.

As much as I'd love to have a Prime membership year round, we just don't buy enough to justify the cost. afrey66 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Before I had PRIME, I found myself ordering items that I probably wouldn't have ordered just to get to the $25.00. I have PRIME and I LOVE it. I do shop a lot on Amazon throughout the year and will check there before I order anywhere else. If you are on the fence but you do a lot of online shopping, it's definitely worth getting or at least looking into.
hannahs_momma Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I think Prime is definately worth it! Alot of amazons items are high to ship and heck i can say I don't shop like its christmas all year round and I still saved more than 80.00 in shipping! Also don't forget the 2 day shipping sometimes we need the item faster and I can attest that if you have the prime you get it alot fast than with free super saving shipping
afrey66 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Items are received a lot faster than with free super saver shipping. There have been times I've ordered and even received items in 1 day without requesting overnight service. I think that has to do with where one is in respect to their warehouses.
kathi29 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I'm a huge fan of Prime. I have a lot of family that lives far away, and it makes my last minute shopping a lot easier.
Iliveforblckfri Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I am so jealous for everyone who has Amazon Prime. I had decided to spend the money at work. I am asked to buy books a lot and the quick shipping was especially great. Unfortunately, this will not work in Alaska. Darla
sickness Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 y'all better jump on this deal! it's worth the money! http://photosnag.com/img/1118/y08m1110mhmd/2.gif
bpr Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 They should open it up to all NEW people, NOT including those that have used the trial. They should be trying to encourage the ones that used the trial already(like me ).
Crue2001 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I agree that Prime is definitely worth the money if you purchase year round from Amazon. I use Amazon for books, vitamins, toys, games, printer ink, whatever we need if the price is better than the local store. (Plus for things like vitamins that are not carried in our local stores, I can use Amazon's subscribe & save, get a discount and set up automatic shipments for the time intervals I choose.) Even if you just use Amazon at Christmas time, I think the amount of shipping saved would at least equal the cost of Prime...it does for me. And keep in mind with Amazon's up & down crazy toy pricing around the holidays, you can use Prime to order each item when the price is down and not worry about getting your cart total up to $25 to get regular free shipping before Amazon jacks the price back up again.
