2BoysMom Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Does anyone know where I can find Nintendo DS's for under $129? I thought they had been around long enough that I would find a deal on them, but no luck so far. If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it...I have to get two. Yikes! Thanks, Tricia:eyepoppin
KBsDarling Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 used EBGames/Gamestop will have them at 99$ Pretty sure the price is a set from Nintendo and best you will get is bundles or having an unrelated (20$ off 1 item type coupon etc) deal maker you can work to get a lower price.
starshine Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 if you don't mind used the best deal is EBGames. They used to have a deal where if you traded in a Game Boy SP you got the DS for I think it was 89. Good luck the best deal I have seen so far is the one from Circut City that had the Guitar Hero and another free game that is the one I got and it was total with tax 172 but I don't know if that deal is still active or not.
elena_398 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I got mine when Target had them for the $119 price. Price matched at Walmart and used my Gift cards (cashed in Mypoints and got 2 Ds systems for $80). (my husband has an account too and between the both of us had enough points for $150 worth of GCs)
amazingone Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Toysrus had them around Halloween for 25% off and I also got a free game...I wonder if they will run that again?
jonboy_nellie Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I bought a new one listed on ebay for 100 plus 9 s/h. If you go through the live cashback promo you can get 30% back, so it will cost 79 after rebate.
qhluvr34 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Watch amazon. I just got one for 99.95 with free shipping
4texsons Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Just today? A new one? Man, I keep looking thinking there will be some magical price change, but nope. 129 every time.
jonboy_nellie Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 What's the live cash back program on Ebay? You can learn about live.com cashback program here It is good lots of places for various amounts. Ebay is not a listed partner, but if you go to the search engine www.live.com and put in the right term ( I use 'cheap wii') a sponsored link will be the first result saying you could get XX% cashback (varies, i have got 25-30). When you click that it will take you to ebay and your cashback will be valid for an hour (you will see a logo on the top of the page). Make a purchase using buy-it-now and paypal. Ebay should have all the fine print. I have one that posted (GPS) and several more showing up as pending - I have saved over 300 from this.
Nate Dogg Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Keep checking back, you still have plenty of time. Last year we got my son's for $129 at Best Buy, but it came with a $20 gift card (which we used to buy a game). This year we got my daughter's at amazon.com for $129, but it came with Guitar Hero for only $10 more (a $50 value). Sorry, I do not know of any deals like that right now, though.
loves30 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 got one on amazon for 129 pick a color and got the clubpenguin for free. then the next day they had one for 99.99 now i need another one cause people dont want to listen to me when i speak lol anyway.. keep ur eye out. i know toysrus is doing a special on friday . 2day sale i just cant read what it comes with its to small and have not gotten the flyer yet. i think it said 148 bundle but what it comes with im not sure.

scrapwave Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 On Black Friday HEB Plus (a grocery store) had them advertised for $99.99. Got my Walmart to price match that price. Haven't seen anyone else really have them on sale though.
JennyWLS Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I bought a bundle from Circuit City for $129 that was the special edition Pokemon one with a free Sonic game. I thought it was kinda lame that it didn't come with a Pokemon game, but whatever. I figured for the system and a game, it was a pretty decent deal.
shaw39 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I bought 2 last week at FYE. They were $129/ea with a $40 mail in rebate. I think the deal might have ended, but it's worth checking to see if it's still available. Saved me $80
sallnori Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Who did you buy the systems from? what rebate??
mikeandamanda Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I checked at FYE last night and I was told they have the $40 rebate but you have to buy the system for $140, a game and an accessory to qualify. Today I bought one at Circuit City for $129 and got a free traveling case.
shaw39 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 We bought our 2 systems at the FYE (For Your Entertainment) at 12 oaks mall in Novi, MI and bought the system only and received the rebate!!
sallnori Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I bought mine at HEB plus for 99.00. I got some great games for my DS last weekend on amazon for 5.00. yeah!! what a deal.
Nutterbar Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I just got one today for my daughter and haven't found anything cheaper then 129.00 so I took her game boy advance and about 8 games (to Gamestop)and got one for $70 ........ now I gotta get the games
eicats77 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I bought mine at HEB plus for 99.00. I got some great games for my DS last weekend on amazon for 5.00. yeah!! what a deal. What store is HEB? TIA
jerseygirl Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=128609&highlight=pink link to the $99 pink one on amazon
plmarquis Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 What is the difference between the DS and the DS Lite? I had no idea, and I'm in the market for two of them. Thanks for the warning......
amberc Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 The DS lite is smaller, lighter, and has a brighter backlit screen.
crzytxnjenn Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 We bought our kiddos two DS Lites refurb'd at GameSTop for $99 each. For roughly $260 we got both DS's, a brand new DS game, and 3 used GBA games (GBA games work w/the DS systems!) Granted the only colors they had available were black & white, I figure after Xmas the kiddos can personalize theirs by picking out a skin for them.
StaceyS Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Just got a brand new ds lite at gamestop for $129. I added the one year warranty...they said ring int he receipt/paperwork and the game system and with NO questions asked you get a new one if something breaks for an additional $19.99. Pretty good deal, IMO.
