First, thanks to everyone - forum members, mods and everyone else associated with the site - for making this another great Black Friday on the site. Despite all the doom and gloom news reports, traffic was up, it appears you all were spending more online, and other than a few minor hiccups, the servers held up pretty good this year.

 

Next, as we've told you a thousand times already, we're open all year long. The Black Friday and holiday forums will be closed and archived in about a month, but the rest of the forums and the main GottaDeal.com deal site is open all year long, so we hope you'll stick around.

 

And a warning: if you leave us now, we'll ban you from ever coming back. OK, not really, lol. But if for whatever reason you aren't going to stick around, make sure you are subscribed to our BF mailing list so you can be notified when we open the 2009 site next summer/fall. You can sign up for the list here.

 

Next, if for whatever reason you need to save the items on your shopping list on the BF site, do so in the next day. On Sunday night, we'll be clearing out the shopping list database and archving the BF site to a read-only version. We'll keep it up for a few months in case you need to view any of the ads, but your shopping lists will be gone.

 

So again, thanks for a great BF and we hope you'll stick around :)

Another update:

 

Now that the online versions of the store's Black Friday sales are over with, we have "archived" the Black Friday site and are now redirecting people who go to the BF site to our main year-round GottaDeal.com online deals site. If you still want to view the old Black Friday site to check out the ads, you can access it here:

We'll keep that site up as it is for several more months until we start to prepare for Black Friday 2009. The various interactive elements (shopping list, contact/ad submission forms) have been turned off.

We'll leave those up only for a few more weeks, so if you want to "collect" them and save them to your computer, do so in the next week or two. We may add a "gallery" of past year's ads to next years BF sites for the major stores.

 

As I mentioned in the first post of this thread, we'll keep the rest of the BF forums open for another month or so before archiving them all as we've done the last 4 years. We'll then have 5 full years of archived BF discussion available to browse.

 

 

Update 12/2:

 

With 95% of Cyber Monday sales now over, we've closed that forum and moved those threads to the "Expired Deals" sub-forum of the Online Hot Deals forum.

It's by far the most popular board on here and along with the main GottaDeal.com site is where you'll find the best deals all year long.

 

As mentioned before, the BF and Holiday boards will stay open until around Christmas before being archived.

I've lost count of the amount of money I have saved by utilizing GD, not only on BF but throughout the year. Thanks again!

Orange soda, Bollywood DVDs and XM radio online is what keeps me going at night.

 

Thank you so much Brad and all the Mods...I don't think i've ever asked one question that hasn't been answered promptly and accurately! I'm starting to wonder if you guys ever sleep (especially in the past few days!)...This is my favorite site online :)

Many, many thanks to Brad & all the mods & admins that make this place possible! I can hardly believe this was my 4th BF as a member here! It's such a fabulous place, & I am always telling people about it!

 

In years past I have stopped using the site after the holidays because, quite simply, if I see a good deal, I pounce on it, even when I can't really afford to be buying things (it's important to avoid temptation). However, this year I think I'll stay - online deals are getting better every year, and I know that as soon as I get a job I won't have as much time as I have had in the past to hunt around at B&M stores for bargains. I'm in it for the long haul this time around!

Thank you to everyone who runs this site. I have been "studying" for about a month and had a very successful day. My dh actually got up with me at 3 a.m., I took him for breakfast and we shopped together until 1 p.m. I had lists made out and even showed him how to research items on this site. It made for a fun day.

I will be next to add my thanks to Brad and all the mods for keeping the site running smooth before, during, and now after BF! I spent another long night online shopping, but scored tons of great deals thanks to everyone on GottaDeal. My kids don't know it yet, but they thank you too! :tongue1:

Another well deserved thank you to Brad and the Mods. I dont post often, but look frequently and tell everyone I know. My husband even looked with me this year that's a first. Thanks for the joy and excitement you give to the black friday shopping experience. I am getting ready for round 2 on saturday. Enjoy your nap!

Thanks to Brad and all the mods. What a great site. I really appreciate the time you all put into this ite. I look through the site pretty much daily year around. Thankyou also to all who post deals, coupons, sweepstakes and so forth. How nice of you all to take the time and effort to help spread the word so that we all might be able to save and get whats best for the dollar. Everyone is deepy appreciated.

I really do appreciate all the info I get here. This year especially living in Italy. I was able to get everything I needed online. I struggled big time this year since Black Friday is a family tradition for us. I spent time between here and on the phone with my mom. Thanks again for all you do!!! Not just the mods but the other members who share their finds!

Brad and Mods Thank you for a job well done. Receiving information well before the big day makes planning for the big event much easier. And Brad again thank you for the shirt, I won one this year, it created quite a buzz while shopping yesterday. Everyone wanted to know where they could get one. I told them "sorry you can't buy them you could only win them from the best deal site around, make sure you check it out you won't be disappointed."
