He hasnt mentioned anything about it yet but he does like to run around and dance lolMy 13 yr old and my 8 yr old sons both want it, so I'm guessing 7 would too. You don't need a guitar, this has a little add-on piece that hooks onto the DS to be the "guitar." Here it is attached to the DS:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51qTPivIseL._AA280_.jpg Here is a pic of just the add-on part:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51EZ%2BnfwwxL._AA280_.jpg
Ryan'sMommy Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 We have a wii and I just ordered him a new DS lite as his old one broke so I am trying to figure out which to go with. So the plus on this one is you dont need that big guitar for the wii? I wonder if the attachment and the small size makes it hard to use? So this is the only thing you need to play this one and the only one out there for DS?

There is a newer GH on Tour: Decades that was just released...Amazon has it as well (3rd party seller though), but it's $49.99 for the game & "guitar" attachment bundle. You can get the new game separate for about $34.99 by itself. Here are links to those if you'd like to look at them: Bundled New game:http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-Decades-Bundle-Nintendo-DS/dp/B001E22VT6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1227829027&sr=1-2http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B001E22VT6/sr=1-2/qid=1227829027/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=468642&s=videogames&qid=1227829027&sr=1-2 Just the new game:http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-Tour-Decades-Nintendo-DS/dp/B001G1FLJC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1227829188&sr=1-1http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B001G1FLJC/sr=1-1/qid=1227829188/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=468642&s=videogames&qid=1227829188&sr=1-1
racerfan Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) What is the diff bwn this one and the one for wii?The one for the wii is an actual "fake" guitar that you play and follow the prompts. The DS game is very similar but it is portable and they play it with a stylus. We have this game and my kids love it. I have already gotten On Tour Decades for them for Christmas. I got the bundle for both that way they both will have the "guitar". My DS plays the guitar on Xbox when home and when we go out he plays it on the DS. He wishes they had it for PSP. This price is great and the game is well worth it. Edited November 28, 2008 by racerfan
mom2maddynsky27 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 thanks for posting..just order for my dd :)
Ryan'sMommy Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Ok so what is the difference of this one and then the ones your listed as the bundle and game? I see 10 and up but he is 7 but pretty advanced in the game world so should he be able to play the one listed? If I just want to get him one to try and start out with that comes with everything would you say just to get this one for $29.99? Thanks!

Thanks!Yes, if you're not sure if he'd like it, get the $29.99 bundle in the first post (it has the original game & the attachment). If he likes it, you can always get the other game (Decades) later for more songs.
Ryan'sMommy Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Great thanks so much I just got it for him. Now I need to find some more DS games on sale and some more wii games on sale. Any ideas? Also looking for the Wii Dance Dance Revolution for him and the Outdoor Adventure game to use with the wii fit.

Crue2001 Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Great thanks so much I just got it for him. Now I need to find some more DS games on sale and some more wii games on sale. Any ideas? Also looking for the Wii Dance Dance Revolution for him and the Outdoor Adventure game to use with the wii fit.My 8 yr old LOVES the Kirby game for the DS (Kirby Superstar) and the Lego Star Wars/Batman/Indy Jones games. (He gets extremely upset and frustrated with the more complex games, so I think Kirby is more like a Mario game, if that helps.) Of course, all of the Mario type games are good for that age too. My 13 yr old said to mention Diddy Kong Racing, the Petz games, and Nintendogs. Hope that helps you out...good luck in your search!!
maddux31 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I orderd mine on line with Game Stop earlier today for $30 and free shipping with the code "SAVER" Me too!! I didn't want to have to run all over in the am.
