It will really depend on the what is in the ad for me, but if there is a good TV-we will get in line around 6pmish on Thanksgiving Day. That's if I don't win the VIP contest ;)!

I'll get in line at the Moline, Il Best Buy at 10am Thanksgiving which will be 3 hrs earlier than last year which was 3 hrs earlier than the previous year which was 3 hours earlier than the year before that. Each year I was in about the same position in line...none further back than 25 or so. I have always been able to get what I intended to buy. I hope for a nice laptop this year.

For me it will depend upon what is going to be on sale and the tenacity of others. In an experience similar to paketel's, people seem to start lining up 3 hours earlier than the year before. Last year I arrived on line @ 5pm Thanksgiving day and was 12th in line. (the first 6 people in line arrived @ 1pm in an RV and had their T-day meal in their RV.

I enjoy the Black Friday experience for a variety of reasons, but if the tough economy causes more people to be more determined to get in on these deals, I can see the dynamic of things changing this year. There was a camaraderie among the fellow knuckleheads who are crazy enough to camp out for Black Friday.

In the past, when economic times got tough, there was a more somber, less jovial attitude by those camping out. The number of people on line 12 hours before store opening will be a good indicator.

Lets just ut it this way....I plan on standing in line for at least 17 hours this year. We now have 2 stores that are the same distance away from me, so i am wondering and debating on which one to go to. The newest one just opened in July of this year. I am ready to go now, just wish I had my Time Machine project finished!:smart:

I want to try and get a laptop this year what time would I have to set up camp at bestbuy to get a doorbuster like that.

I would venture to say Thanksgiving morning. EARLY!!

There are two Best Buys close to me. The front door on one store faces northwest. The front door on the other store faces southeast. The choice is easy for me which store to stand in line.

It really depends on where you are located and what you want.

No Best Buy for me this year :(

They have nothing I want for the price that I would be willing to pay but hold out some hope they may have the secert sale at better prices that you can only see online, Thanksgiving Day or right around there.

I will totally avoid BB until after 9 or 10 that morning. Its so not worth the hassle of people

running into you,and trying to steal your stuff. Also there is only 2 things I want, but don't

care if I get is the 2 gig Micro SD card for $10,and the 19" Acer Monitor for $100,but usually

I don't even go there at all as Walmart will honor BB's ad price,so I just get it there if they

have it.

Also I really wanted some DVD's cheap, but other than Kmarts T'Day add for $4.00 ones,

the rest suck everywhere else.I also say this is probably gonna be the worst BF in history

for me.

The ad is so disappointing.... Hoping the secret sale will show up this year.

i am extremely dissapointed in the ad. last year i went out and waited from weds night. this year i was looking for a nice 32 inch tv. but theres nothing worth waiting days in line for. i can get the same deal online anytime of the year. hoping for a online secret doorbusters but highly doubting it after that showing.

Same time as last year...8 or 9...or whenever. The ad SUCKED and since I don't need a tv or computer, I'll stroll in at my leisure to pick up whatever cheap cds/dvd/games are left. Any BB shopping I do will be online. Underwhelmed with their ad (and most others as well) for the second year in a row.

Sadly, this is the first time in 5 years that I won't be going there first. Nothing that great on sale. Unless something changes I'll be going somewhere else first this year.
