woods5986
Am I confused - someone please come look at this and tell me what the heck the difference is in these 2 deals..... Other than spending $50 more I don't see any difference - do any of you? OK great - now I can't post the link - but they are both on Costco's web site - Thanks
dmmiller
yup.. the lenses are different. Personally I think you'd want the one thats $50 more, cuz the lenses are nicer. IS is image stabilization, and thats very important if you have shaky hands (like me) Granted, the more expesive one has a shorter telephoto lens, but that one feature is much more valuable (IMO) than that extra 50mm. You can also purchase an extender to get that extra 50 back. If i'm wrong, someone please correct me, cuz i'm still learning. :)

First Lady
I would go with the more expensive one as well! You'll love the IS on the longer zoom! And with the more expensive package, there are no gaps in the zoom, which is nice!
kren
The image stabilized lens is a $300 lens on its own. It will give you the ability to reduce camera shake at lower shutter speeds. The 75-300mm is about $150. If you're using a tripod for both lenses, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but chances are the IS will help you tremendously. The only thing to be aware of with the EF-S, is that EF-S lenses only work in cameras with a 1.6 crop sensor (all the Digital Rebels, and the 20-50Ds) It will not work if you upgrade to a Canon 10D, 5D or 1 - the back of the lens can collide with the mirror and trash both the lens and the body. You can tell an EF-S lens b/c it has the square white mark on it when you fit it to the body. The regular EF lenses just have a red circle. Cynziao
I don't see the $849.99 deal online with the IS telephoto lens. I only see the $749.00 deal. Is there a direct link to the first deal?
brandibug
If it were me, I'd go to B&H Photo Video's website and order the $849.99 deal for $789.95:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/589090-REG/Canon__EOS_Rebel_XSi_a_k_a_.html
