nikkilugi Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I heard plasma tvs are the worse to buy. They don't last as long as lcd and are very expensive to fix. Actually plasma's have a great picture and tend to look better than LCD's for things like sports, etc. The life of a plasma is a question - however, I think depending on what you are using the TV for it just depends. We have an LCD and a plasma and I love both - however I think our plasma has a better picture sometimes with the sports we watch. Plasma's need to be transported upright so if you plan on moving around a lot then a plasma probably isn't the TV for you. Otherwise don't discount the TV. You can often find a better deal on a plasma and they are a great tv!!
Mina222 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I luuuurve my plasma. i did a lot of research before buying.. I dont regret it one bit :) and btw if you are in the market fo ra 42" plasma, amazon has a great price on a highly rated samsung. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN42A450-42-Inch-720p-Plasma/dp/B0015AR7AK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1226199822&sr=8-1 ETA this is a 720p, but if you do your homework you dont really *need* a 1080p unless you plan on standing a foot in front of it.. your eyes cant tell the difference from across a room.
Brad Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 same model is $857 w/ free white glove delivery at amazon: http://www.gottadeal.com/Deal/29347

I sould be able to move my tv at will. No wait I am still on the tube tvs..... Until they blow..then I am ok...
